Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this T-Style Hook and Keeper Door Holder. This is going to keep your trailer door open when you're loading and unloading. Basically the way this is gonna work you're gonna mount it onto your trailer door and the side of your trailer where that door is going to open up to. You can see this is gonna hang down when you're not using it and then when you're ready to, you open up the door slide that T portion in there, that's going to hold that door open for you. This is a 10 inch long hook, so it is gonna be ideal for your doors that have an obstruction or that won't sit flush with the side of your trailer when open.
So it's gonna give you quite a bit of clearance there. Very easy to connect in place. And then, like I said, it'll hang down when it's not in use. This is a durable plastic construction so its not going to scratch up your trailer like your metal holders would. You can see it is a polar white color so it is going to look nice especially on your white trailers.
And they do include the mounting screws needed to get the different attachment points connected. So the hook length is right at 10 inches, as I mentioned. Our hook bracket, if we look at the backside here you can see it's right about three inches tall One in three quarters of an inch wide and just about a quarter of an inch thick. The receiver bracket is very similar. And then our mounting distances here, we're looking at right about an inch, center to center horizontally and then approximately two and a quarter of an inch center, center, we'll call it two and three eights an inch, center to center vertically.
Very simple to get these installed. You've got the back plate, the top mount there. Your T-hook can just be installed by pushing it through the portion there. It's got that ball fitting there so it's going to give it plenty of movement. So then you'll put that backing plate on and then use your screws to mount it in place.
This does come with a lifetime warranty so if you we're to have any issues with it, you're more than welcome to reach out to us here at etrailer.com. But overall, I think this is gonna do a good job for you in making sure that that door stays open. It is a plastic construction, so it might not be as durable as a metal construction, but like I said, your not gonna have to worry about it damaging your trailer doors and that sort of thing. It'll hold up, well, not gonna have to worry about rust and corrosion and that sort of stuff. So I think it'll do a good job for you, especially saving you the hassle of trying to prop your door open or have someone else hold it for you. And that completes our look for today. They worked perfectly as advertised. Time will tell regarding their durability. It only took about 10 minutes to replace them on all 3 doors. The trailer is out in the sun and weather 24/7 year round. The original door holders lasted about 3 years before the UV sunlight finally dry rotted them to the breaking point. If I get 3 years out of the replacement holders I'll be a happy camper. Don't mind replacing them, its fast and easy, after 3 years of use if need be. They can withstand a lot of abuse during that much time.
Perfect fit, no need to drill new mounting holes.

I installed this on a Carry-On enclosed trailer. It fit well as a replacement, but the fit and finish weren't as great as I was hoping. It's designed to be mounted vertically, but the original was mounted horizontally. I'm hoping that won't be a problem. The quality of the plastic doesn't seem as good as the original. And the original had a nice clip that held the hook in place while the vehicle is in motion. This one does not. They expect you to mount it vertically and let the hook just hang while not in use.

Installed on my my shed doors. Easy to install and work just as well as they did on my trailer. Very pleased and I expect a long life.
While not an exact replacement its very close. Will work just find. Ordered on Thursday and received it the next Tuesday. Excellent. Will install it tomorrow when its warmer. Did compare the old door keeper and the new one -- installation will be only take a few minutes.

Wish they made them in black too, also ordered a tag cover it was cracked when received, not happy about that. Husband needed so bad he will not let me return it.
So disappointed! It's so cheapy made I believe it won't hold up after a few months of use.
