Video Transcript for Fulton Economy Spare Tire Carrier with Lock Review

Speaker 1: Today you're going to be getting a look at the, Fulton Economy Spare Tire Carrier. It's available with or without a lock. With a lock, it's part number F-E-T-C-H-L-0700. Without a lock, it's part number F-E-T-C-L-B-0201.This corrosion resistance U-bolt-style spare tire carrier will fit most wheels, with a four or five lug pattern. If needed, the bracket can be bent to fit.

If you purchased it with a lock, this is the lock you'll get. It's a threaded style lock, and two keys are included. If you prefer to use your own lock, any standard pad-lock will work.Everything is zinc plated, so it's going to stand up to the elements. The U-bolt installs just about anywhere on your trailer just as long as it fits the three inch width of the U-bolt. So you'll also just want to be sure you have room for your spare tire. Some people install them on the side of their A-frame.

You can also install it on your side rails. On ours however, we're going to use this cross member right here. So what we'll do, is we'll set our tire in place, making sure that the outside of the tire faces up. I'll get it in position, so that two of my lug holes are straddling our cross member. Then I can take the U-bolt.

I'm going to come up from the bottom. I'll line it up, and then push it through. Make sure it's all the way up, as high as it will go, then we can take our two brackets and start threading those in place. Now, once you get them on, you want to make sure that they're of course making contact with your wheel. We'll get them nice and snug, that way they hold your spare in place. Then we'll line up your brackets.

Then you can take the lock that came with it, or your pad lock, insert it through, and then lock it in place. Perfect. As you can see it's nice and solid; it's not going anywhere. And now you've had a look at the Fulton Economy Spare Tire Carrier.

Like this product, well made, simple to use secures my trailer spare tire.
This is the second one I have purchased...2 trailers.

by:

Easy to install took 2 minutes and was done best price on line and great customer service. Love using etrailer.com

by:

So easy to install a girl did it!

by:

I ordered this for my aluminum Road King 19ft boat trailer. It was a good fit, easy to install on the neck of the trailer aft of the winch and holds the tire in the horizontal position above the neck. A good feature is that you can adjust how tight the tire is held on the trailer. If I get around to it I may try permanently attaching it to the trailer neck, but that may make it harder to mount the spare. Anyway it's a good product for a good price and does a good job holding the spare tire to a trailer that doesn't have provisions for mounting one.

After one full season its still doing great. Other than keeping the the spare well out of the way while loading and unloading the boat, the only other use it has gotten is when I replaced the old spare with a new one.

by:

Works great! Just what I was looking for to keep my spare tire safe from pain stolen

by:

Nice product and Eric is a 5 star customer service representative!

by:

Just what I ordered. The perfect size and mounting was easy. But without the two lug nuts I ordered and didn't receive, I can't really use this until I find two lug nuts. Happy with the U bolt, disappointed that I didn't receive my full order I paid for.

by:

Worked as expected

by:

Purchased this spare tire carrier for my kayak trailer. It fits on the trailer neck at any position I need. The threaded locking brackets secure the wheel to the trailer and the lock has a screw down locking bolt, which cannot be removed without using the key. I'm going to purchase another one for my utility trailer. Great price. Thank you, etrailer!

by:

Worked fine, but there was no key for the lock!

ok

by:

Always fast and reliable and did I mention, they back their products? Good People!!

by:

Great little bracket that does the trick. Locking system will basically keep the honest people honest, as it is not that robust. If you have a trailer that has side beams that don't ride very high above the ground, this may not be the right product for you since your spare will not have much clearance from the ground. You may need to get one of the off-set products that raises the level of the spare.

by:

Im rating the product as being a five, If I was rating the shipping, thats a tad surprising at how it showed up and would rate it as a one. The outside box was fine but the inside packaging of the product was destroyed . All the parts were outside of the original package with parts freely flowing all over. I can understand damage during shipping but in this case, it looked like someone tried to tape up the product packaging inside or something at one point, and failed to do a good job. At first I thought I got a used product that someone taped back together. You cant hurt the tire u bolt and lock, so no big deal.
It just caught me off guard.

by:

As always. No problems with anything I've evere ordered from etrailer.

Hasnt fallen off yet. Dont think it will.

by:

Very happy with trailer. Fairly easy to assemble but directions could be better. Took about 4 hours to build basic trailer by myself. Additional 1.5 hrs. to add carriers, spare tire, kick stand, etc.

by:

This product worked great for mounting a spare tire on my trailer's tongue. Very secure once everything was fully mounted. Great product.

by:

Very reasonably priced hardware to add a spare tire to your utility or boat trailer if you have adequate space on your trailer tongue.

by:

This is the first tme I have purchased from etrailer, but it won't be the last! These folks know how to treat a customer. I am delighted with every aspect of this transaction. Good Job etrailer!

by:

I will give this item a good rating, because it's a great idea and product. That being said, it is definitely made for small trailers with small tires to mount. I have a standard 19' boat and it was too short...

by:

Nice spare tire carrier. Mounted it on boat trailer.

by:

This is a very robust product that was easily installed and very secure with the additional lug nuts. It makes the spare tire look shabby. My only suggestion would be to offer a package that includes two lug nuts.

by:

Keeps my spare tire where it should be, with my trailer instead of somebody else’s trailer :)

by:

It worked great with the spare tire I b ought.

by:

Just what we needed for our enclosed trailer. Dont be an idiot and carry your spare tire inside, and dont be a bigger idiot and carry it on the outside without a lock. This is your solution!

  • Spare Tire Carrier for a 15 Inch Diameter Wheel with 5 on 5 Inch Bolt Pattern

However, the Fulton Economy Spare Tire Carrier part # FETCHL0700 will so long as you bend the u-bolt in just slightly when attaching the wheel. This carrier will fit your 15" diameter wheel and attaches to a frame rail up to 3" wide. It also comes with a lock for security. According to my research, the wheel studs on your Wrangler Unlimited are 1/2 inch diameter, which means that the Lock # FETCHL0700 should work just fine for you. Our etrailer.com lock # e98892 would also work if your spare tire has at least 3/4 inches of clearance behind it, and you have an available lug opening that passes through the carrier on the vehicle.

This is what your spare carrier should have and I'd be honestly surprised if it did not, so it should work really well.
