Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at E trailer. And today we'll be taking a look at our Valterra waste valve for your RV black water tank here at E trailer. So this is a three inch gate valve designed for your black water tank. So you can see here how you already have it installed. And this is going to be especially useful.
If let's say you have leaky valves and you need a really quick fix. If you're unable to already fix your valves, or if you just want an extra kind of stop that way, if anything does happen, you're not leaking on the road. So we have this here on a Coleman trailer right now, and you can see with this design, that's more of a safety feature than anything because we have our black water valve here, our gray water valve here, and there's not much pipe before we get to our final valve. So in our case, if anything does happen, this is a great way to make sure that we have a extra kind of stop points before it starts leaking on the road. Great.
When you're driving around and you want to make sure that everything still looks good. So right here is a great reason to get this gate valve. So notice how our black water valve is right over here and how much pipe there is before you get to this output valve. So in our case, and it has happened, the black water valve was leaky. So you do have about two gallons of waste waiting right over here before you attach your hose.
So in that case, this would be very, very useful. So this here is our valve. You'll notice how it has a three inch diameter passage through it, which is going to fit most of your RVs because most of them have that design when it comes to their black water valve. So on one side you have bayonet hooks and that fits right onto your pre-existing valve. And the other side has these fittings, which is where you're going to put your sewer hose.
So right now it's in the closed position and you'll immediately be able to tell, because the handle is all the way down. Now, if you want to open it, or when you already have your sewer hose attached, you just pull up on that lever and you can see how our valve opens. Now, one thing that may happen and I've seen it happen before, is that when they closed this valve on their other valves, they got some toilet paper stuck in there. So that's where this lever comes really in handy, because then you can see if it's fully closed and functioning. The dimensions of this valve is going to be in the closed position, nine and a half inches from top to bottom. And then when you have it open or the levers all the way up, it's going to be 12 and three quarter inches. And with those dimensions is nice that you are able to rotate it if needed, just to get the best fit on your RV. Let's say you have limited clearance up here. You just moved this valve to this size, and that's how you activate it. Where this really shines is that it's a very quick fix. And if it's a quick fix, it needs to be fast and easy. So let's take a look at that install process. We have our waste valve over here, and then we also have our original valve right over here. So we're going to do is first take off the cap. And I like to take off this rubber portion first that way we're free to take this cap off, to just twist that and that's off. So hopefully your gray pink and your black tank valves are already closed and there isn't any residue on the inside, but if they are leaky, there may be some things in there when you take that cap off. So you may want to have a bucket underneath as you do this, but once you get that cap off, you're then going to get your valve and notice how we have this side with the bayonet. That's going to fit right on to your pipe, and then just twist that and lock it into place. And with this portion lock, you can then rotate your valve itself. If you need it to be in a better position, we're going to have it right over there. And once that's in place, you're going to also put this cap right back on. And don't forget to put that rubber attachment back onto that cap. As you can see, this was a very, very quick install process. Now, if you do have leaky valves, it may be a little bit more difficult to just make sure that you have your gloves and you're trying to be as sanitary as possible because as you install that valve pool water may come out. So you want to make sure that you are protected, but once that's on there, then you're good to go. So my personal thoughts about this gate valve is I really like how it's super quick and easy to install it, because if I do have a leaky valve, a little bit of effort to go in there to fix it to a place it this way I can just add that on real quick and fix it later, now if you do have leaky valves, I please try and fix them anyways, We have most of your replacement parts right here at E trailer that will work for you. But if you want something that's a quick and easy fix, this is the way to go. And if you just want an extra safety measure while you're on the road, I highly recommend picking this up anyways. And that was a look here at our Valterra waste valve for your RV black water tank here at E trailer. My name is Evangeline, and I hope you enjoyed the journey..

Twist-on valve is designed to be a quick fix for your RV's black-water waste valve issues. 3" Diameter passage allows wastewater to travel freely when valve is open. Bayonet hooks twist onto existing valve. Lug fitting end connects to hose.Excellent product. Had to wait awhile but well worth the wait. Been having trouble with black tank valve leaking by. Called and it would be July until our dealer could check it out. This will be a permanent fixture on my Fifth Wheel. Thanks etrailer for getting it to me.
Even though I have installed this valve I have not tried it. However, I ordered and installed the same product in Nov. 2019. It worked well but in September 2020 somewhere between Custer and Rapid City, SD it came off. It had always been a little loose, so this time I will be watching it much closer and installing something around it if it starts to loosen up.

Its been working great. It was starting to get a little loose, so I secured it with a pop rivet and I I have no problem connecting or disconnetcing the sewer hose to this valve. I like the added protection it provides to my waste water system.
This is a great add-on because you don't get that little bit of leakage when you pull your sewer cap off. It's also an added level of security knowing I have a backup plan if I have issues with the main valves.

I consider this product an essential piece now. Works great and has held up well
Great invention! Makes "dumping" a breeze! Easy to install and operate! No more worries about surprise, I forgot to close the tank valve, again! when I removed the old cap to dump...
We’ve had this valve for a year or so. It’s on our second camper. Fit both perfectly and adds a sense of security when draining waste

We’ve been using now for over a year. Thankfully the primary valve hasn’t failed but having the extra level of protection has given us peace of mind. Works flawlessly!
Easy, cost effective solution to leaky sewer valves. No more 'surprises' when removing valve cap.

Item has been in service for a year and still works great! No more surprises when opening sewer valve cap.
I wanted to try this shut off valve because of the end of sewer line issues that I have had when removing the cap for dumping. I am not the only person to run into these problems when removing the cap. Others have indicated this valve solves the problem so I wanted to give it a try. I’ll find out soon if it works out.
Everything arrived in great shape and in time for my “hurried” needs.
works great and would buy again.
Works well, great insurance against leaks or other failures.
My husband says he is very happy with the Valterra waste valve. He said it functions as promised.

My husband is still very happy with the valve. No poopy leaks!
Up until winter this year, the valve was great. Then we had a deep freeze & and the valve froze up. Took a bit to warm it up to operate it again. The advantage of this valve, is that you can remove it to clean, lubricate to preform.

Just fine
Good product..fast delivery and good communication...THANKS !!
The Valterra Waste Valve is an excellent addition to my RV black tank dump pipe. No more water seepage when I remove end cap to connect waste flex line.
So glad these are back in stock. Everything I've ordered from ETrailer has arrived in good shape and if X is in stock, it arrives very promptly. This little puppy was out of stock everywhere during covid. Thanks supply chain. Grab this AND a spare to CYA. My hero at Changing Lanes said hv a spare, not for malfunction reasons but in case one walks away at a shady campground I suppose. So I spent the $ to have 2. Two is 1, one is none in the ol prepper world.

Still working well, some put a small screw in to keep these from twisting off when you remove the sewer connection. I think thats a good idea as mine did twist off when removing mine one trip. was not a big BAD deal as this was after backflush, but I resolved to find a way to prevent that. Still a must have safety item to prevent oopsies. etrailer supportCust service is superior!
I have a Lance 1172 camper and I'm having trouble completely closing the valve to the gray water tank. This is just what I need to save me a lot of money in repair costs.
When I open the package and I seen the valve in there I cannot believe the quality of the valve. I was very happy because I’ve been needing one of these in a etrailer had it, so I got it.
One of the dreaded tasks of RVing is emptying the tanks... particularly the black tank. Before I bought this item, I would hold my sewer hose under the drain outlet, and pull the cap off. Inevitably, sewage would come out before I could connect the hose. After installing the Valterra Waste Valve, I no longer have to worry about that. I simply remove the cap, connect the hose, and pull the valve handle. No worries, no mess. After one year, the product still works without fail. I highly recommend this item!
Works good, no leaks.
Works great. No more surprises when I open the drain valves.

Still working perfect. No more spills when empying the trailer tanks.
Very easy to install. Prevents that little bit from spilling when I take the cap off.
My first upgrade to our camper and the best. This product works great. Can't recommend this enough.

This Product is still working great.
Can well package no damage to the shipping box. Installed in minutes. Great backup valve. Would buy again.
Great product! Strong as it can be, I purchased this part a year ago and with the volume I do in my food trailer, I can tell you that this valve has received a beaten, lol....open and close, open and close, three time a day for a year!!
well not a scratch on it lol.
amazing
Product works well! An opportunity for improvement would be to make the fitting "stiffer" to avoid the pull gate to stay horizontal to the ground. Otherwise, I am very pleased with the product.
I installed this on the main outlet on my RV where I connect the drain hose.I first drain the black tank. when it is empty, i leave the tank valve open and close this valve at the hose. I then open the grey water valve and let it flow over into the black water tank until they balance. I then close grey water valve and open the valve at the hose. This is a great way to flush the black tank. And then drain the grey water to flush out the hose.
