Will Flexco Pull-Out Steps Work for You?
Pull-out steps are typically installed on travel trailers. The Flexco pull-out steps from Stromberg Carlson are easy to install and fold up underneath the camper for simple storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.
The Lippert pull-out steps attach to the underside of the camper chassis, directly beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available underneath your camper that lines up with the door frame, and measure the width and depth. You will need a mounting space that is at least 21-1/16" wide and 6" deep.
If it turns out you have more or less space beneath your doorway, there are other step assemblies available with bracket sizes ranging from 21-1/16" wide to 28-1/4" wide. A full list of the available steps is below.
Outriggers - metal brackets that act as an extension (LC301704 - sold separately) - may be needed for installation depending on the model of your original stairs. These provide extra length if the old steps are longer or wider than the new.
Once you know where the mounting bracket will go and what size mounting bracket you need, that spot will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.
How Many Steps Do You Need?
To determine how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, plus 3" to 9" to account for the drop from the bottom steps to the ground. This measurement will also tell you how many steps you need.
The chart below displays mounting bracket width measurements in the first column and entry height measurements in the second column. The third column shows the corresponding part numbers. Use the mounting bracket width and entry height measurements you took to determine which part number will fit your RV. Choose the bracket size that is closest to your measurements without going over.
This page's step assembly is in bold text.
Mounting Bracket Width | Entry Height | Part Number |
---|---|---|

Exactly what I needed for the restoration of my vintage 1972 RevCon. I looked everywhere for the proper dimension for the replacement step. These do the job exactly as expected. Minus one star because surface rust has appeared in the joints after 2 years (in California. so not extreme weather).
Good product, sturdy, convenient, and decently priced. Installed it in about 1 hour.
Tried to use this on an enclosed trailer I converted to a toy hauler. Due to trailer frame support placements, the step had to be slightly off center from door, but tried it anyway. Only had it on a few weeks before removing it and paint had already begun to wear off and flake off in chunks and some light rust already started. I can’t recommend this item since it’d clearly be a rusted mess within a year or two.
I now use an aluminum step platform with adjustable legs.
The step is attached .
Just needing to tighten the bolts after reconstructing the entrance.
I love the flexco manual pullout step! It is exactly what I needed for my service truck. I have a large service truck that I work out of everyday and did not include any steps to climb into the bed. I recommend this step assembly for RV and obviously other use. Great product. Thank you!

All is well and it has done the job for us.
Good construction. Using it for side entry on a construction. Permanently in the pulled out position. The frame design of the trailer made this necessary but the step has adequate ground clearance to permit this. With regard to etrailer service, second to none.
Steps were installed by me-They were put on my Ford F-150 to aid my wife in getting in and out of the truck. (We are both now in our early 80's)
The steps work just fine. The only criticism I have about them is that they rattle a lot. I have added rubber strips in several places, but they keep falling off and the steps continue to rattle. Oh well, can't have everything, I guess.
A good quality step at an affordable pr ice
Perfect, easy installation, we installed 2 on our shuttle bus (Chevy Express) so it would be easier for customers to enter and exit. highly recommend these steps based on cost, fast availability , ease of installation and performance

The step is just perfect for my box trailer. It actually a safety device to prevent accidents. Excellent metal work and a child could operate it. Packaging and shipping was heads above the other stores.
Solid step. Easy to mount. Just what I needed for my 1977 Terry Taurus. Travel Trailer. etrailer has been a reliable retailer.
I damaged my original steps on our camper. I ordered these to replace. Removed the four bolts, put in the new set of steps that fit perfectly, reinstalled the bolts...BAM....done!!!
Just a simple step for the one broken off. Everything worked out. I didn't give excellent simply because I don't remember the ordering and getting procedure. but since I don't remember it, it must have been good.
Used the step for passenger side step to get into pickup truck. worked fine for the wife.
I use this step for my 2016 Promaster 1500 van . Makes life easier entering & exiting the back of the van. 100% satisfied !!
This is a very serviceable product. Thin metal but equivalent to standard issue steps. Fit perfectly and works smoothly. Very good price and shipping was quicker than expected!
A year later owning the product and it works great.
Just what I needed to give a boost to my too high step
On my horse trailer.
Good product. Works as a replacement for an old step that rotted. Easy to install. Not quite as robust as I had hoped but with some caution it should last.
Every item I purchase from etrailer.com is of the best quality. They are also very good with working with you to find your proper item. If you purchase an item that does not work out for you, they happily let you return it. Very nice company to deal with.

Still working good, I wish I would’ve bought the 4 step unit instead of the 3 step.
