This roof vent has a built-in 12V fan that uses a thermostat to help maintain an even temperature inside your RV, camper, or enclosed trailer. You can also control the dome and fan manually with a built-in hand knob or with the included remote control. A rain sensor is included as well to signal the dome to close and the fan to shut off when it gets wet.

Ceiling Vent and Fan with Remote-Controlled Thermostat

Fan Tastic Vent Remote Control

Air out your RV after cooking or just draw in some fresh air while you sleep. This remote controls the vent's thermostat as well as its manual and automatic speeds. You can control the direction of airflow - in or out - with the push of a button. Operate the remote control in your RV or place it in the included wall cradle so you will always know exactly where it is.

Manual and Automatic Operating Modes

This variable-speed ceiling fan operates in 2 modes: manual and automatic. An on/off button automatically lifts the dome and activates the fan. To use the manual mode, press the arrow buttons on the left side of the remote or turn the knob on the vent housing to increase or decrease the fan speed.

The manual speeds are listed on the remote from 10 percent to 100 percent. As you cycle through the speeds with the arrow buttons, an LED light next to the selected setting will light up. As you cycle, you may notice that the LEDs for 2 settings will be simultaneously lit. This means that the selected speed is the average of both of those settings.

To switch from the manual to the automatic, thermostat-controlled mode, press one of the temperature arrow buttons on the right side of the remote. When using the automatic mode, you can preset the vent to maintain a desired temperature inside your RV. The temperatures are listed from 60 F to 90 F. As you cycle through the temperatures with the arrow buttons, an LED light next to the selected temperature will light up. Again, when 2 temperature settings are simultaneously lit, the selected temperature is the average.

The fan's internal thermostat will sense the actual room temperature, and the fan will run until the preset temperature is achieved. When the temperature rises above the preset temperature, the fan will automatically kick on again. So when you go out, you don't have to waste energy by leaving the vent running at full blast just to ensure that your RV is cool when you return. And because the fan will activate anytime that the preset temperature is reached, you can set up the system to ensure that your pets remain comfortable while you're out.

Fan Tastic Vent Remote Control

To reverse the direction of airflow, simply push the air out/air in button while the dome is open.

Power Lift and Rain Sensor

Fan Tastic Vent Dome Lift

This vent has a powered lift arm for the dome, so you don't have to manually crank it open or closed. The dome automatically opens when you turn on the fan. An up/down button on the remote also lets you open and close the dome when the fan is not running.

Fan Tastic Vent Dome Manual Lift Knob

And a hand knob is built in so that you can operate the dome in the event of a power failure.

A moisture sensor ensures that the dome will close when rain or snow hits. So you can leave the vent running or preset to run at a certain temperature, even if the forecast calls for rain. When the sensor gets wet, it signals the dome to close. With the dome closed, the fan blades will stop running. When the sensor dries, the dome will re-open and the fan blades will resume operation. To keep the sensor from activating in rain, snow, or humid and dewy conditions, simply add a vent cover (sold separately) to block moisture.

Installation

This vent requires a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" opening in your trailer's roof and ceiling. To replace an old vent, install this vent into the existing opening. If your roof does not already have a vent, you will need to mark and cut an opening between roof joists to install this unit. And the 2-wire design makes it easy to have your vent hooked up and ready for use.

Installed fan. All functions work. Except the fan blade is defective. Fan blade assembly rim has an axial runout of 1/4 inch, inner hub of fan blade assembly has a runout of 3/16 inches. Fan blade wobbles excessively. Obviously a mfg. defective part. The worst part is how difficult it is to get customer support from eTrailer or Domestic to just get a replacement fan blade. Should be simple. It’s not.
Probably easer to just order a replacement fan blade and avoid the trouble of a warranty claim.

by:

Service from etrailer was fantastic. The fan arrived quickly, was in new condition, and works great!

by:

I love the fan. I had a manual one in the trailer I purchased and I couldn't reach it without a stool. I am 75 and that wasn't going to work

by:

Compared to the 2012 model fan I replaced, the range of the remote control is significantly shorter. I have literally been standing up under the new fan and holding my arm up for more than a year now to operate the new fan. Nope, it is not the batteries.

by:

Installation was easy and a perfect fit for my 2021 Airstream 16RB (replacing a 3 speed Fan-Tastic unit). I like the speed range of this fan, and how quiet it is when set to 50% and lower, big improvement.

However, all the other features (rain sensor, temperature setting, reversible direction), not so impressed with. I don't like the fact the fan turns on at full speed every time I switch on the battery disconnect (applying 12v power). Why is this necessary? I also have a hard time determining which direction fan is pushing air (pulling air into the trailer does not produce strong air flow), and maybe the vent cover is preventing good air flow. It would be nice if there was an LED on the remote or unit to indicate direction (forward or reverse). I know that sounds silly, but I put my hand up to the unit and can't feel which direction the air is flowing, it's just moving around.

I ignored recommendations to go with a Max Air unit, and if I had it to do over, I would install a Max Air instead with built-in cover. I may even do that anyway just to have a better fan and cleaner look.

by:

This fan functions excellently. However, the plastic cover was damaged by the closing motor due to the amount of closing force. This occurred a few weeks after install as it had been being damaged with each open/close. I did not request a new cover realizing the same thing would happen so I modified the mounts for the closing mechanism and all is well. This all required removing the vent cover to correct.

by:

Delivery was Great. Fantastic Fan is a great product. My installation was easy and straight forward. The fan fit perfectly into my existing roof vent cut out. Really like the bi-directional air flow feature.
I would order this item from etrailer again if I ever needed to.

Still working the same as new. We run the fan on low all night every night to help prevent condensation in our tralier. This is working well for us

by:

Love this fan. The thermostat control works great especially at night. I put it in the bedroom and having the ability to have it blow down on the bed is a game changer boondocking on a hot summer night. High quality, easy-to-use remote definitely worth the extra money for the additional features.

After a year we still love it. We have 2 fans in our camper and running them both when we get to a spot to cool the camper down works great. It is a great option in the bedroom instead of a second air unit.

by:

Poor design on dome. The dome lift mechanism screws into plastic that breaks resulting in a need for a new dome. Dometic did supply a new one this time.
Also, The decorative piece on the inside of the dome was too short. Had to buy a separate piece to fit in the ceiling of my motorhome. Next time MaxAir.

We bought two of these a little over a year ago but have only been using them consistently for about 6 months or so. We are full-timers and have been through Florida in March, up the East Coast, and across to Ohio so far with these and couldn’t be happier. They are literally on all day and all night unless we’re in transit or it’s raining so they have gotten quite a workout already and they’re still working like new and are remarkably quiet (you can likely hear the traffic, breeze, and fiancé walking in the background of the video and the fan is on medium). Our only complaint is that the rain sensor can be a bit sensitive and likes to close with a heavy dew and tends to be reluctant to open back up immediately after a rain, but we’d MUCH rather it be overly sensitive than not sensitive enough and us get water in the camper! We also travel with two animals so having these fans has given us the confidence to leave them alone during warmer days without the fear of them overheating (we also have our camper well insulated, the awning providing shade, and a Wi-Fi thermometer constantly monitoring the temp so don’t worry, they are safe!). And even with both fans running almost constantly they don’t seem to draw much power which is essential for boondockers. Overall these fans are definitely on our top ten favorite purchases for our Airstream and we would buy them again without hesitation. HIGHLY recommend!!!

I am a retired rv collision center owner with many years of rv extensive repair experience and, I always wanted to construct a slide in no cab over camper. My first concern was to be able to remove my camper on my own and be able to roll it off and on and have the ability to move it around in my RV barn to clean under it and be able to put it against any of my walls for storage. I discovered your name on the internet and compared your prices on name brand products to complete my build. I could have bought a fan for half of the cost of the fantastic fan but, there is no comparison to the quality of the fantastic fan I bought from you guys and got it almost instantly. I have also purchased a ceramic low profile rv stool that is a step above all the others that I looked at a great price as well.I’ve forward you the pics of where my project has recently stopped temporary because I just had cataract surgery. I can lift my camper off my truck and, spin it like a top and, roll it any direction and, now I’m prepared to go full steam ahead and, I need many more extensive list of components Electrical, plumbing, water, lighting, solar system and a wide array of misc. I’m building this camper for my own personal use but, I already have a person who is interested in buying it when I’m done so if your pricing stays as competitive as it has so far I see no need in opening a wholesale rv supply account. I’m hoping that you might have a solar panel person that I can touch base with give me information on the right and quality solar set up. Thank you Ted

They are great, Easy to install.

by:

Super fast delivery from etrailer! Fits great, works great and I'm sure it is going to be a wonderful improvement to the RV. Easy install, not counting dicor removal??. Two wires only.

by:

The fantastic fan is just that, FANTASTIC! I would not consider any other fan for the purposes that I use it. There are so many different modes of operation that it will cover any need that you may have. The rain detection is very important in my area.

The product is working great. I will not consider any other product.

by:

After 1 year of service our fantastic fan is all we hoped for. Installation was easy as we had an existing oem fan we replaced. The remote function is a must as my wife is short and wouldn't be able to reach the ceiling to operate the fan. it moves much more air than the original and is actually quieter. Cant speak for the rain sensor as we have the roof vent installed. Highly recommend!!!

by:

If you are replacing an old unit, do not cut trim ring to old dimension. It will end up too short. New fan flange is much shorter.

by:

Runs great! Installation was quick and easy.

by:

Installation was a breeze. Hardest part was getting old vent out. Wife can now open and close the vent. First drop of water and the vent closes.

Fan is doing a great job, it clears the smoke out when I burn the toast. Dont have to use the air conditioner as much.

by:

I purchased one Fan-Tastic vent and one AirMaxx vent. They both have remote controls and operate the same. They are very similar in design, weight and noice level. AirMaxx has a much better remote control to change settings. AirMaxx was $XXX cheaper at the time of purchase in 2022.

by:

Have not installed it yet. I am excited to get it put in, I can't reach the one currently there and with the new one and remote I will no longer have to stand on a stool.
It was a good price. I will send pictures when installed.

The unit was easy to install and it works better than I expected. Using the renote with all the features makes it easy to use. It is quiet, and at night it pulls in the night cool eliminating the need to use on many nights, especially if the hook ups is 20amp. dont have to use the stool.

by:

Great fan, excellent clean install and interior finish. Really like the remote control. Will purchase this again when needed

by:

Great upgrade, put this in the kitchen where the ceiling is too high to reach the vent safely. plus could not beat the price. Recommend this product big time

by:

The lid motor broke after a couple months so I contacted the manufacturer (Dometic) and they said it had to be repaired at an rv dealer. No dealer would look at it and one told me it was a disposable product and even if they ordered parts it was unlikely that Dometic would send it to them. He said I would have better luck returning it to be fixed or replaced. I called Dometic and ask them for an address to send it to and they argued with me and said there was no address, so I kept asking for a supervisor and finally they let me talk to a person who said they would just send me a new lid motor. After months of arguing with them they did what I asked them to do in the first place. I purchased a Maxxair fan from Etrailer and it works great. Fantastic fan used to make a quality product but not anymore. It’s sitting in my shop until I can figure out what to do with it. It was a waist of money. I will replace my other 2 vents with Maxxair fans. Also I had it open and a light wind came up and the lid broke. They did send me a new lid but I was afraid to leave it open if not around. Also my rv came with another Dometic fan and the crank handle is stripped. Pure junk! I would not buy a Dometic fantastic fan and try not to purchase anything from Dometic. It is my opinion that they will not improve their products as long as RV manufacturers keep purchasing them.

by:

Fantastic fan is a favorite of my short wife. The remote control is the bomb. It is working as described and would buy another and would recommend it.

by:

This is my second fan unit. The first was installed on a smaller camper. We recently purchased a larger trailer and this was the first thing we are upgrading. My first one was originally installed by me in 2014 and I had no issues with it what so ever - hence the quickness to purchase & install one in our new trailer.
As for etrailer - top notch customer service. These days its very difficult to find local retail shops that have anything in stock and also dont mark the heck out of the price. etrailer always has what I need when I need it at a very respectful price point. they also use fast and safe shipping. Thsi fan was ordered on a Sunday and delivered the following Wednesday - For FREE!

  • Troubleshooting Remote of Fan-Tastic Roof Vent 7350 Not Operating Fan
Have you tried reprogramming the remote? For programming a Fan-Tastic roof vent remote like part # FV9068-09 which is what your 7350 fan part # FV807350 uses what you need to do is hold your remote 12 inches away from the fan while holding both arrows. The Auto and Manual lights will begin flashing immediately. Continue holding both arrows down until the seven LED's flash once. Now it's programmed. You may have to try both sets of arrows, the speed and temp ones. If this does not work...

  • Which Arrows To Hold Down When Reprogramming Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent Remote
The remote reprogramming process for a Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent like part # FV807350 states to hold both up and down arrow buttons down until all lights have flashed once. Unfortunately, it does not specify which set of arrows to press as it will be dependent on what model you have but since there are only two (speed/temp), it won't take much time to try both which is what I recommend.

To mount the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Remote # FV807350 in your 2019 Arliner Expedition the roof would need to be approximately 1" - 4" thick. This will allow enough space to install the trim/garnish and have it sit up against the interior ceiling without having to build up the thickness. The trim/garnish is included with the vent. If your roof isn't thick enough you can just build up the thickness by mounting some wood around the opening and then screwing the trim to the wood.

Additionally, only certain fans would be able to have their motors run in both directions, so it's unlikely that your fan is going to be able to function in that manner unless it already has the ability to do so, so it doesn't sound like the # FV9068-81 is an option. • Difference Between the Fan-Tastic Vent 7350 #807350 and the Upgrade kit #807357
The Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Remote part # FV807350 is a complete assembly that will completely replace an existing vent. The Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent Assembly Upgrade Kit part # FV807357 is designed as an add on to existing vents. The add on while not identical does give you the auto or manual setting and in manual you can choose between 7 fan speeds. Butyl tape like # 344270341411-1 is recommended for making sure you get a leak free install of your new Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent # FV807350, but it can be done with just the lap sealant you have. You will just need to make sure you apply it liberally between the roof and vent, making sure to get some in the holes so water does not get in past the screws. I included a video of the # FV807350 for you to take a look at.

The best thing about the Fan-Tastic vent is the powered lift so you don't have to manually crank it open or closed. It also comes with a remote that allows you to adjust the thermostat from 60 degrees F to 90 degrees F. If you are looking for something a little more...

I have attached for you below a list of troubleshooting steps for the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vents like part # FV807350 which will vary depending on what symptoms your roof vent is having and what particular model you have. The remote reprogramming process which is listed for you in step 1 does not specify which set of arrows to press as it will be dependent on what model you have but since there are only two (speed/temp), it won't take much time to try both which is what I recommend.
