  • Does Blue Wire of BCDC Charger Need to be Connected to Ignition for 2021 Chevy Silverado Install
According to my research your 2021 Chevy Silverado will have the variable voltage where the alternator adjusts output based off of demand. This means you need to connect the blue wire of the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D to the ignition on your pickup. If you don't already have the wiring and fuses you need we have a few packages you can choose from for that as well. If you plan on overlanding then use kit # e89ZR but if you'll be using it for a standard trailer...

  • Does 12V Power Fuse Need to Bed Pulled for Trailer Towing with a 2021 Jeep Gladiator
Yes, you can pull the F36 or F37 fuse (which ever is for the 12V power) to keep the battery on your trailer from draining the battery on your 2021 Jeep Gladiator. It's definitely one of those 2 fuses but I'm not 100% sure which one so you'll just need to test on your end. With that being said, normally the thought is to have the 12V power pushing a charge back to the battery while you're towing since the alternator is sending back a charge and then to prevent the 12V power from going to...

  • How to Connect Trailer Lithium Battery Bank to Tow Vehicle for Charging
When adding a DC to DC charger like the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D you'll actually be creating another connection with heavy duty Anderson plugs so the Lithium batteries will be isolated from the 7-Way connector on your tow vehicle. To complete the installation of the BCDC I recommend the Trailer Installation Kit for Redarc BCDC # e79ZR. Please note this is rated for battery banks with 75 and 200 amp-hour ratings.

  • How to Charge Camper Battery Using 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500 Dual Battery Bank
The 7-Way 12V power only provides a trickle charge to the tow vehicle battery. This is due to the distance between the truck battery bank and the camper battery bank. In order to charge your camper battery bank you need a "booster/maintainer" that is able to get the charge to where it needs to be to properly charge your camper battery, and for this I like to recommend the Redarc BCDC: - 25 Amp Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D - Trailer Installation Kit # e79ZR The...

  • Will Alternator Charge 4 6V Batteries
Your alternator is designed to send a charge back to a source so as long as you have 2 sets of the 6V batteries wired in series and then you connect those 2 sets in parallel (see attached photo) you will retain that 12V system and your alternator will interact with your battery bank just fine. I do recommend using a battery charger like the Redarc BCDC # 331-BCDC1225D to make sure your battery bank gets the correct charge. You can find all of the wiring and connections needed for this...

  • How to Charge Winch Battery on Trailer Using Tow Vehicle Alternator
For your application I recommend using the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D which helps to boost the power from your vehicle and is able to give your battery the best charge possible. To get this installed we have the Trailer Installation Kit # e79ZR which comes with all of the wiring, connectors, and fuses you need to get this properly installed. You could charge your battery through the 7-Way with a 12V power wire ran from your F-150 battery but the problem with...

  • Will Trailer Lithium Battery Pull More Power Through 12V Pin on Truck 7-Way
When you charge your battery bank using the 12V power from your tow vehicle 7-Way it's going to be a trickle charge whether you have standard or Lithium batteries. If you want your tow vehicle to actually charge your Lithium battery then you need a whole different setup like the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D designed for battery banks rated for 75 amp-hours - 200 amp-hours. This system uses a completely different wiring connector for 12V power so you can be confident...

  • Best Way to Charge Trailer Battery Using Vehicle Battery
You will want to use a marine battery in addition to the Hopkins Engager # 20400 because you want a dedicated battery for your breakaway brake function. If your marine battery was depleted and the pin pulled for the breakaway system then this means your trailer brakes won't activate. The ProMar1 DS Digital charges a battery when plugged into AC power (like a standard wall outlet) so you will need something different to charge while in transit. For that I recommend the Redarc In-Vehicle...

  • How to Tell if Tow Vehicle Has Smart Alternator to Install Redarc BCDC Charger
I have a way for you to test and see if your 2007 Nissan Xterra has a smart alternator (I doubt it does), but I unfortunately don't have a list of what vehicles have a smart alternator so it will require you to do some testing: 1. Locate your main vehicle battery 2. Start the engine, ensuring any fans, radio, lights etc. are turned off. 3. Take a voltage reading across the main vehicle battery 4. Leave running for around 5/10 minutes, then repeat step 3 If your readings are around 14.4V...

  • Should Everchill Fridge Still Run While Trailer is Being Towed
The Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer # 324-000119 can be made to pull power to run during travel but you need it to be drawing power off of your battery bank - not from the 12V power coming from your tow vehicle. Check to see where the fridge power is connected to because it may not be getting enough power to actually run the fridge/freezer. The 12V power from your tow vehicle is really just a trickle charge to keep your battery bank topped off. If you're needing to pull power from...

  • How to Add Vehicle-to-Trailer Charging for Lithium Battery Bank on Small Trailer
The Progressive Dynamics RV Power Control Center with AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger - 35 Amp # PD4135K is exactly what you need so you can use the lithium batteries. In regards to your batteries being charged by your tow vehicle, unless your 21 GeoPro 19FBS is already set up to charge the batteries through the tow vehicle we will need to use a separate charging system. For your application I recommend going with the 25 Amp Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D...

This charger and install kit will set you up with a connection point at the rear of your truck and the front of your trailer to let you connect your trailer to your truck power source and disconnect it when not needed. • Trouble With 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax Charging Trailer Battery Bank
Great question! The 12V power supply on your 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax will power interior lights and basically provide a trickle charge to your trailer battery bank to keep it from casually dropping but there just isn't enough power to actively charge the batteries - for that you need a battery charger. I recommend using the 25 Amp Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D because it uses larger gauge wire for the setup and will actually boost up and read what your...

To make installation easier we have the Trailer Installation Kit # e79ZR that will allow you to properly have the wiring and parts needed for installing the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D. The wiring includes two 3 gauge wires 24' long for the vehicle side and 9' long for the trailer side. The Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 40 Amp Item # 331-BCDC1240D is designed for battery banks that are 200 AH or more. • Interior Lighting Suggestions for Boy Scout Enclosed Cargo Trailer
Let's begin with the spotlight you want to point out the rear of the trailer. Aries makes an inexpensive LED Off-Road light bar as part # AA1501260. For the interior lights, the best light kit will depend on what exactly you're using the trailer for. Assuming you just need general lighting for loading and unloading the trailer when it's dark, I'd recommend using two or more of the # 328-K-0054B LED utility lights. These would mount to the sidewall up at the ceiling, and would point downward...
