Add another Redarc solar panel to your solar system to increase your charging power and extend your off-grid campout. Multiple-panel solar arrays are most efficient when you use panels with the same wattage, so we recommend adding this to a system with other 200-watt panels. When panels of different wattages are combined, the panel with the larger rating will have its performance reduced.

Be mindful of the amperage and wattage limitations of your solar charge controller, as exceeding those limits may cause the solar array to not function.

Wiring panels together

Redarc offers multiple options for connecting multiple panels. It's important to understand what effect they will have. If you are unsure of what would work best for you, you should consult an electrician or dealer for professional advice and installation.

Three options for wiring Redarc solar panels together

Redarc offers Anderson connectors to wire panels in series (RED53VR) or parallel (RED59VR). By wiring your panels in series, you will increase the total panel voltage output. By wiring your panels in parallel, you increase the total amperage. In both cases, you get increased battery charging power going to your solar charge controller. If you increase your total voltage or amperage beyond what your charge controller can handle, it will not function properly. In solar arrays of 4 or 6 panels, you can wire half in series and half in parallel, so neither the volts nor amps exceed your controller's limitations. By being mindful of these options, it can save you the pain of having to buy a more expensive solar charge controller that can handle the increased input.

Redarc also offers MC4 style connectors for wiring panels in parallel (RED78VR). Since the connectors on the panel itself use MC4 connections, this eliminates the need for an MC4 to Anderson adapter and will make for a cleaner install.

Mount for joining 2 Redarc solar panels

For installing panels on the roof of your RV, also remember to get some Redarc Solar Panel corner mounts (RED79VR) and side mounts (RED89VR). The side mounts are especially great for multi-panel arrays, as they hold two panels together at their corners, conserving space on your roof while holding panels securely.

Video Transcript for Review of Redarc RV Solar Panels - Roof Mounted Solar Kit - RED66VR

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Redarc 200-watt Monocrystalline Solar Panel. Now, this is a 200-watt solar panel that will use the sunlight to charge your batteries. This is designed for fixed-mount installation on your RV, your van, or anywhere else you'll need solar power. This is designed to work with the Redarc Solar Charge Controllers, the Redarc Dual-input BCDC Chargers, and the Redarc Manager30 Battery Management System. All of those items, we do sell separately on our website.

Now this is a monocrystalline solar panel. It has the highest efficiency rates, typically in the 15 to 20% range. And what that high efficiency rate means is that it'll produce more power per square foot and is therefore, very space efficient. It does use a nice tempered glass coating, has a nice anodized aluminum frame. This will help withstand harsh road and weather conditions.

Now, we do also offer mounting brackets to install this with. They are sold separately on our website. There are many different types of mounting brackets, and they are usually listed on this product page as a related product. Now in the very back, I'm gonna try to spin this around and show you the connectors. But if we spin this around, you can see, let me go ahead and zoom in here a little bit to give you a better look at it.

And if we zoom in, you'll see the junction box right here, and then you'll notice the two connectors. These are the MC4 type connectors. So you have a positive, here's your negative, and they're basically a plug-and-play. So you just plug 'em in, you're ready to go. Provides a quick and easy setup, and the cable length on each one of these is about 35 inches long.

Now, we'll zoom back out, and let me just rotate this around. Now this is manufactured to CE standards. A few dimensions on this. The length from this end all the way to this end is 43 3/4 inches. The width from here to here is gonna be 39 inches wide. And the depth of it is only about 1 3/8 inches. Now a few specs on this. The rated peak power is 200-watts. The maximum system voltage, 600 volts DC. Maximum power current, 10 amps. Maximum power voltage, 20 volts. Does have an operating temperature range of a -40 degrees Fahrenheit up to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. And the weight on this panel is about 27 1/2 pounds. It's not too bad. Now this is the 200-watt model. We also have it in a 50-watt panel, an 80-watt panel, 120-watt panel, and 180-watt panel. All of those, again, we do sell separately on our website. But that should do it for the review on the Redarc 200-watt Monocrystalline Solar Panel..

Have just return from a camping trip with the solar panel installed. It worked great. Had full batteries during the day while running my refrigerator. My overall purchase experience was excellent. William took care of the issue I had with the first panel which I received that was slightly damaged in shipping. He arranged a replacement which arrived in time for my trip. Installation was easy and very secure. Looking forward to this year which will included long trips to hot locations and I will be using my freezer to enjoy ice cream. Thanks!

If you do a lot of remote camping, this works really well. Combined with a BCDC charger, this is the ultimate batery charging system.
