How to Connect Trailer Lithium Battery Bank to Tow Vehicle for Charging

Question:

i have a question about lithium batteries and my tow vehicle. ive read numerous articles that say lithium batteries can burn up your tow vehicles alternator and to use a dc to dc charger instead but what I cant find is how to hook up said dc to dc charger and how to disconnect the tow vehicle from the lithium so only the dc to dc charger charges the lithium. the way I see it if you dont disconnect tow vehicle wont it try to charge the lithium at the same time s the dc to dc charger? im just confused and dont want to ruin my alternator.

When adding a DC to DC charger like the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D you'll actually be creating another connection with heavy duty Anderson plugs so the Lithium batteries will be isolated from the 7-Way connector on your tow vehicle.

To complete the installation of the BCDC I recommend the Trailer Installation Kit for Redarc BCDC # e79ZR.

Please note this is rated for battery banks with 75 and 200 amp-hour ratings.
