Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Valterra ABS Tank Fill kit with the threaded cap. Now this kit with the threaded cap makes filling your freshwater tank a breeze and it includes everything shown here right on the table. We'll go through the parts. I'm gonna zoom in on there so you can see 'em up close. The little starter comes with this 1 1/2 inch diameter fill thread adapter with the fill cap that installs just like that.
And you can see it has a tether cable on it that you can attach so when you do remove the cap you won't lose it. It'll stay attached. Also comes with the 2 3/8 inch by 90 degree barbed drain nuts. And again, you can see they screw into the adapters just like that. And then again, comes with two of those.
Comes with a four ounce can of ABS solvent cement. And it even has this, one of the 3/8 inch male thread pipe plugs. Does come with a nice set of instructions. It'll describe how this all installs. Now one note I do wanna mention, is this is only for use on ABS material and fittings.

- Fresh Water Tank Fittings Needed for Replacement TankI've attached the fresh water fittings page so you can get the connections you need. I unfortunately can't give you parts without knowing the hose measurements and the tank measurements. For instance it looks like you will need the Valterra ABS Tank Fill Kit with Threaded Cap # RK909, but that kit comes with 2 elbow adapters and it looks like your current kit only has one elbow adapter. We have 1/2 inch, 3/8 inch, and 1/4 inch straight fittings and the same in elbow adapter fittings....

- Can Sight Glass be Added to Valterra 24 Gallon Water TankI don't see any reason why you can't add a sight glass to the 24-gallon Valterra RV Water Tank # R8048. These aren't something we offer or have experience with in regards to installation, so you may need to find a way to fabricate or otherwise install one but you can do so if you like. However if you switch the elbow that connects to the tank with the Valterra 90-Degree Male Adapter part # RF846 you will be able to use the kit. You would not want to modify the opening to fill up the tank, instead what you can do is use the Valterra ABS Tank Fill Kit with Threaded Cap # RK909 to make filling the tank easier.
