Today we're going to be taking a look at the Valterra Universal Gravity Fill Inlet and Lockable Hatch for RVs. This unit is going to allow you to add or replace the hatch for the gravity fill inlet on your RV. It is lockable. Has a lock core. It's going to come with two keyed alike keys. It's also going to come with a thumb latch mechanism that can replace the lock core if you'd rather have that option. We open it up, you'll see that on the inside this is going to be the gravity fill connection.
It's got the nice threaded caplet with a tether on there. The unit is also going to feature a small air vent. That's going to allow air to escape, which is going to keep pressure from building up inside the fresh water tank. That's going to have a wire mesh screen on there to keep unwanted items out. Taking a look at the overall dimensions real quick, measuring the width first, that's going to give us a measurement of about 6" wide. Measuring the height, we're looking at about 6-1/2" tall. Now a cutout is needed for installation.
To see if this will work for your applications, we can go over a few measurements. I'm going to go ahead and measure the actual dimensions of that raised portion. Going this direction, the exact measurement of that area is going to measure 4-5/16" tall with the width of right at 3" wide. Then we can also take a measurement, the distance that we have between our mount holes. Going up and down, we're going to measure from the closest edge of this hole to the closest edge of this mount hole.
That measurement is going to measure 4-13/16". That's going to be the same for the outer holes up and down. Now the center holes are set a little bit higher than the outer holes. The closest edge to closest edge of the center holes is 5". If we go side to side measuring between closest edge of this outer hole to this outer hole, that gave us a measurement of 4-1/2".
Closest edge of the inner hole to the same point on the other side is 3-1/2". Distance between these holes, closest edge to closest edge, that looks to be about 2-11/16". That would be the same here on top. If that's going to work for you or not, you can compare those measurements with what you have. If you're adding it, then you know what at least you'll need as far as the cutout goes. That's where it gets the universal fit from. It has a lot of different mount holes here on the back here. You can use a combination of the holes to get this installed on your particular application. We've got the fittings here on the back. We're going to have the plastic 1-1/4" barbed connection that connects to the RV plumbing for the gravity fill. We're going to have 1/2" air vent connection. The unit does come with your installation putty tape, and it's going to come with your mounting screws. The screw heads are painted to match the color of the hatch. It's going to come with two keyed alike keys and, again, that thumb latch mechanism. The mount holes are all going to be hidden by that main hatch door. They just go around the perimeter here of that mounting flange. The housing itself is constructed of a durable UV stabilized plastic construction. That's going to be black in color. That's going to do it for today's look at the Valterra Universal Gravity Fill Inlet and Lockable Hatch for RVs.

Gravity fill inlet lets you fill your fresh water tank. Lockable door keeps your water supply safe from tampering and protected from the elements. Includes 2 keys and an optional thumb latch for keyless closure. Finally got it installed, had to make a few minor adjustments, the air hose was larger than the old one, the unit is a bit larger than the last so a bit of enlargement necessary. Looks great.
I’m installing a water wash down system in my enclosed car trailer so I can wash my atv after a day on the trail. This is the water fill door for the system.
Easy to install, works great for securing our trailer's onboard water supply.
Product arrived quickly and in good condition. It is being used on a custom project so I am not sure how it fits on applications where it is normally used, but it works great for what it is!
Really excited about how easy and quick ordering was and the free delivery was even fast too!
Thanks so much again for all of your help guys!!

Had to install it sideways to fit the existing hole. The connections worked fine but the lock was a pain. The plastic part that holds the cap on kept getting in the way of the lock slot. Had to resort to prying off breaking the cover to fill the tank.
