Video Transcript for Valterra Non-Skid Grip Tape Review

What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Valterra Non-slip Grip Tape. So, you got steps on your RV or your camper, it's definitely gonna be something you wanna have, especially if it is rainy outside. You could do so much stuff with this. What I'm gonna do today, is I'm gonna, we took these off and we're just replacing it. And basically, this is just gonna make sure you're not gonna slip around at all.

It's like really, really gritty sandpaper. So, it's gonna give you optimal amount of grip, and it's gonna be great for these kinds of steps, as they're not the ones that have the metal sticking out to give you grip. So, this is definitely good to help. So basically all you need is this pair of scissors. You wanna make sure it's nice and clean.

So I'm just gonna go. Probably about this much. Just go ahead and cut it, simple as that. And you take the backing off. Peels off just like that.

Gentle, for your nails we'll hope. We want to make sure that this isn't going to hook onto itself because it was on a roll. But I think we're good there. And then you just put it on, it's like a sticker. There really isn't much to it.

But I'm sure, you know. That whenever it gets wet, it gets really slippery and you just don't want any of your guests slipping or you slipping. So it's just a really, really simple thing to do just to make sure everybody stays safe. Because you never know drinks may be had when you're on the camp site, so you definitely wanna make sure that the the steps and everything are going to be nice and grippy. So that's literally it, I'm preventing against all that from happening just by taking this two, three minutes just to put this on here. But another thing I'm gonna do is put it either on the inside of this camper or at least on the ladder. Because that ladder does not even have grip tape on it. So I'll put this right here. I think we can get a majority of the stuff on the camper with the 10 foot roll. But if you need a lot, if you got a couple of different trailers like a boat trailer or just a bunch of other stuff you wanna put it on, we do have a 60 foot roll. So you can choose between the two. We'll see exactly how far this 10 footer is going to go. So let's just assume, that we do the other two stairs. So right there and right there, cause there's two sets of stairs. So we're not gonna do the other stairs, but this is what that would take. But now let's go on the ladder and see exactly how much this 10 footer is gonna do for this one camper. We have about five steps on our ladder and about a foot-ish each. So I'm gonna mark this and cut'em. I think we should have enough to get it all done. Just like that. This does have a little bit of a shape to it, so it's not perfectly flat, and also it has these little ribs. So we'll see exactly how well it does with that. I think it'll be fine, because it is extremely sticky stuff. Sticky stuff. So. It's a perfect size for a ladder though. Probably put it right at the edge. Just like that. You can't really slide your hand on it, that's how grippy this stuff is. Again like the grittiest of sand papers. It will sand your hand pretty quick. So let's just keep on doing it. And hopefully I think we're gonna be able to do this whole entire ladder and still have some left. Look at that every step, every step. So with the 10 foot roll, we're gonna do every single step on a five step ladder. And do the two different steps on the outside that have two different steps to them. So I think the 10 foot roll is perfect if you're just going to do RV stuff. But if you did want a little bit more grip on the inside or maybe on the bumper or whatever, you might wanna get something bigger. But 10 foot kind of takes care of the necessities. Grip tape can literally be used on anything. It can be used on concrete in your shop, on tile, in your RV or even just in your house. It could be put on literally anything. So what I'm gonna use it for is this, it's a little ball mount step. I love it, but I don't love how it gets really slippery whenever it gets wet. And I don't have an anti-rattle bolt in there. So it does kind of move around, so I don't want to fall off this. Because if you fall and slip off this, this is going on your shin and it gives me the heebie-jeebies. I hate hitting my shin on stuff. So you can put this on here, just make sure it's clean. Literally, if you clean the surface of whatever you're putting it on it's gonna work, which is awesome. I'll cut it a little long so I can kinda. Maybe like bend it, wrap it around the corners a little bit It is extremely sticky, so if you don't have fingernails, it might take you a little while. But. Just like that. Good there. I'm gonna do one more. Just because I can. So what I'm gonna do is just put it on a little low and then I'll cut the excess off later. Cause it does have a nice little curve here. So really is simple to cut. Which I liked. So you don't need any special scissors or anything like that. So if you do want it to kind of be a custom fit, if it's not a perfect square step or whatever, you can just pop this thing on where you want it. Like that, push it down, kinda curve it over the edges. And then I'm just gonna cut this with the scissors. So I get that nice little curve that I like. And it looks like it kind of came with it. So I already like that, that it's not too thick, but it's definitely is enough to get what you want. At least what I want. There you go. Yeah, I'm not gonna slip at all on this thing anymore. Again, it can be used for literally anything. If you don't have nice finished decking like this and it's something like this, just like a basic John boat used for duck hunting or whatever. You put that on there just so you're not slipping around and put it down there literally anywhere. I just think it's not a whole lot of money and it's not a whole lot of time and effort to get these put up places. So whether it's just saving your own shins or your neighbor or whoever's going on the trip with you or the kiddos whenever they get hurt sometimes it kind of puts a damper on the day. So just making sure everybody's nice and safe around whenever the elements hit is always a plus. And that'll do it for a look at the Valterra grip tape. And I'm Adam with etrailer..

Using etrailer.com has been a great experience. They have a huge selection of trailer parts and make it very easy to find the right parts. The packaging seems to have gotten alot better. Very sturdy box. It arrived within a few days from ordering which was a huge plus. I was able to get the job done sooner than planned. That kind of experience will keep me loyal to etrailer for any future trailer parts needs. Thanks guys and gals. Keep up the great work. As far as the parts, eveything was heavier duty than factory. Since I measured the old parts I was able to find the exact replacements for those parts. The job went so smoothly without any issues. These springs raised the trailer height without any load on the axles 1.5 inches. It was definitely time for new springs and hardware. Im kind of glad the one spring broke.

I bought the non-skid tape to replace the material on the steps of my used camp trailer. The quality of the etrailer product seems to be not as good as the original tape, but honestly is good enough. We will see how it lasts.
Patrick at etrailer was a pleasure to work with and kept me abreast of the delivery, since the item was out of stock and had to be re-ordered (it really didn't take very long to receive it anyway).

Yes, you will be able to load your 600lb garden tractor on the Detail K2 Mighty Multi A-Frame Utility Trailer # K2MMT5X7. The trailer will need to be tilted and for loading purposes Detail K2 recommends no more than 400lbs on the tailgate itself. As your tractor will not have that amount on the tailgate all at one time you will not have issues when loading. We do have some Valterra Non-Skid Grip Tape # A10-2260 that will help the tractor get up the slope of the trailer in wet conditions.
