Product: Extension is good. All parts were in package. All holes were positioned properly and assembly took maybe 30 minutes or less. Weight limit is 72kg for 4 bikes per instructions. Final construction looks good and solid.
Etrailer: awesome folks. You are rocks!
Shipment was fast taking into account covid and other obstacles all companies are struggling now

  • Trouble with Removal of Thule T2 Add-On
Other than the two bolts in the shaft the only thing left to be done when trying to remove the 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2 Pro XTB # TH9036XT would be to loosen the linkage using the hex key. The linkage is threaded into the center bolt hole below where the Add-On piece slides in. If you have already done that as well, then you are not missing anything else that needs to be removed. It is likely binding up from shifting around during use. Try moving it around and trying to remove it with...

  • Trouble Removing Stuck 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2 Pro XTB for 2" Hitches
I have attached for you below the install instructions for the 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2 Pro XTB for 2" Hitches part # TH9036XT. I have also attached an install video you can reference. If you have removed all bolts shown then it's possible the rack is seized and will need to be removed with some force and lubricate.

  • Removing 2 Bike Add-On From Thule T2 Bike Rack
I reached out to my contact at Thule and she wasn't able to offer any additional advice with regards to removing the 2 Bike Add-On # TH9036XT from your T2 Bike Rack. There are 2 bolts at the connection point on the mast that need to be removed before the piece can be taken out. Additionally you will need to loosen up the linkage with the included hex key, which is threaded into the center bolt hole below where the Add-On piece slides in. Once this is done you should be able to simply...

  • Can the Thule DoubleTrack Bike Rack Carry Fat Tire Bikes?
I have an option for you, but the now discontinued Thule DoubleTrack Bike Rack TH990XT can only fit bike tires of up to 2-1/2" wide and it does not have fat bike tire adapters. For a Thule branded bike rack compatible with 5" wide tires I recommend the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Rack # TH83JV. This rack is designed for fat tires up to 5" wide, and will accommodate bikes weighing up to 60lbs each. I really like this rack since you can upgrade it to a 4-bike rack by using the 2-Bike Add-On...

  • Recommended 4 Bike Rack Compatible with 60mm Aero Rims
This is a really great question. Both the Yakima HoldUp EVO Y02479-2 and the Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH83JV with 2-bike add on # TH9036XT are designed to hold fat tires that are up to 5" wide, so the straps are going to be around 5-1/2" to 6" long. Because 60mm is a little over 2", it's going to be really similar to carrying a 5" wide tire when you take the distance to get up and over the rims, so either one of these would work well. When it comes to choosing between the two, I generally prefer...

  • Best Platform Bike Rack Recommendation for Electra Townie Bikes Carried by 2010 Toyota 4Runner
The best solution is going to be the T2 Pro XTR part # TH83JV. It's a platform bike rack that will only touch your bikes at the tires and when you are ready you can have the extension piece part # TH9036XT installed on it and it would be converted to a 4 bike rack. This will basically give you the nicest bike rack setup on the market that I know would be your best option for a 1,000 mile road trip. I attached a couple review videos for both products for you to check out as well.

Yes it will! I verified with Thule for you what the correct 2-bike add-on was for the XTR, which was exactly the one you identified. So exactly what you will need for the 2-bike rack as well as the 2-bike add-on are the following: - Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches # TH83JV - 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2 Pro XTB for 2" Hitches # TH9036XT This is an awesome choice for a bike rack, as the rack is super easy to use with its AutoAttach system, meaning you only have to turn...

  • Why Doesn't 2 Bike Add On for Thule T2 Pro Affect Weight Capacity of Rack
The Thule T2 Pro XTR 2-bike rack # TH83JV weighs 52 lbs alone. When used with the 2-bike add-on # TH9036XT, the now 4-bike rack weighs a total of 96 lbs. The total weight of this setup is not a direct part of the it's weight capacity. Worth mentioning is that the capacity isn't just the shank or the frame of the rack and is instead also including the hooks that hold the wheels as well as the wheel hoops and the straps.

  • Availability Of 2 Bike Add On For Thile TS TH916
Hello Jerry. Unfortunately the 2 bike add-on for the Thule T2 TH916 is no longer available. The add on, part # TH916XT has been discontinued for quite some time. We sold our last one back in 2011. If you are in need of a 4 bike rack, you will need to purchase a new rack. One like the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # TH69TX is a great option that will be similar to your T2 Classic. I have linked a few of our review videos for this rack below.

  • Best Trailer Hitch for Use With a Bike Rack On a 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon
The best trailer hitch that is offered for your 2019 Subaru Outback Wagon is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76227. The reason that this trailer hitch is the best is because it is hidden which means only the receiver tube portion is shown (see photo) therefore you can still have the clean factory like look of your vehicle and it sits the closest to the rear edge of the bumper (2") so you can fold the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Rack with 2-Bike Add-On part # TH83JV and...
