Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a brief look at this replacement locking ratchet arm assembly for the Thule T2 hitch bike rack or Sidearm roof mount rack. If you need to replace a locking ratchet arm on your Thule T2 hitch bike rack or your Sidearm roof mounted bike rack, then this is what you are going to need. Now, on your screen, I am listing our item numbers of the T2 and Sidearm bike racks that this will fit. Now, this is going to provide the mounting point for the T2 or Sidearm ratcheting hook assembly.
And this is going to require Phillips screws and nylon insert lock nuts for installation and those are sold separately. And the Thule One Key System lock and lock plug are also sold separately. I damage a number of parts on my Thule rack crashing into my garage.
Fortunately all of the parts that were damaged were available from etrailer
The parts came quickly and in no time the rack was good as new.
I can’t say enough about the customer service! I didn’t get to place my order until late in the afternoon and was just hoping to get it placed in time to at least be in the que for processing the next day. Not only did I get an email acknowledging my order, but soon after I received another email saying the order had been shipped! Way beyond my expectations!

So nice that they stock these spare parts for these racks. It would have been a shame to waste a $500 rack over a broken $50 part.
We have a classic Thule T2 bike rack that we bought way back in 2009-just before 29ers were a big thing. The old ratchet arms were too short for our new 2020 ebikes. These new replacement arms are 2” longer and work perfectly! Easy to replace. Ordering and shipping from trailer.com was so easy as well. Would recommend!
I bought this to replace the ratchet arm on an older Thule T2 Hitch Mount Rack to accommodate 5" snow bike and 29+ wheels. The arm is about 2" longer than the older model and makes all the difference on the fit (helps to have the wider tray for the front wheel). It measures about 27" end to center of mount versus about 25" on the older model.
If you've ever suffered through Thule's customer service, skip the headache and order here. It's not inexpensive, but allowed me to bring new life to an older rack instead of needlessly replacing. I do suggest ordering replacement fasteners as you go. Overall a very good experience.
The replacement arms are longer than the original ones that came on my carrier. I can carry almost any bike now without having to let air out of the front tires. Works great. I plan on buying 2 more for my rack extension.
The replacement locking ratchet arm assembly I recently ordered was all I hoped it would be in that every part and fastener required to install it on the trailer hitch Thule 2 bike rack fit perfectly. I was very pleased that (A) it could be accomplished and (B) the parts were still available despite this particular rack being discontinued. A fine product. Many thanks.
Bought new arms for my Thule rack to accomadate 29" wheels. Much cheaper option than buying a new rack. Arm's arrived on time from etrailer but unfortunately one had a very bent bottom bracket I had to deal with. Had to try to bend it back in place and thankfully had the tools to do so. Another buyer could have been stuck returning it. 2nd Arm came in perfect so may be a fluke. Would buy again from etrailer but giving this three stars
Part is perfect. I have an original sportworks bike rack and the company sold to Thule and has been replaced by the T2. I was so happy to find the locking ratchet arm from etrailer.com which fits my rack because mine cracked and wore out. The new one is actually longer and will fit a 29r now. Im ordering another to replace the other old arm. I have upgraded for a very reasonable investment. Everything fits and works perfect. Thank you etrailer.com
I ordered these locking arms after discovering my old ones would slide open even when locked. The racheting system seems to work better than the old ones (maybe just because they are new) and lock well. I was a little disappointed that they did not have the cables inside the arm, like my old ones did, but I took the cables from my old pair and made them work with these.
The Thule T2 is an excellent rack. After ten years, the tire hook rusted through and you guys had the parts to make it new again. The original screws rusted through also and the damage can't be seen since it's inside the locking handle. It's easy enough to disassemble but who knew?

I ordered my bike rack back in 2009 before there were 29 inch bikes. I recently bought a 29er and realized these arms wouldn’t work for it. I looked up solutions, and etrailer had the replacement arm I needed. Got it quick. Install took maybe ten minutes. Very happy I didn’t have to buy a whole new bike rack.
Just what I neede and the price was right! I needed this for a rack made by a company that was purchased by Thule. I thought that I would have to buy a whole new rack after driving into tut garage with my bike on the roof, but I was able to replace the broken part with this. Perfect fit and the price was right!
I have a old Sportworks side arm rack that Thule bought out and the arm was to short to lock on my 29er and it fits perfectly. The only thing I wished it came with was the 2_5mm screws to hold the hook on to the arm as mine where a little rusty. I Did find some stainless ones that worked though.
Had an old bike rack, was not sure parts were still available. Etrailer customer service was extremely helpful making sure I ordered what I needed. Thank You customer service.

I had broken the plastic trigger on my thule sidearm. Turns out you can't just buy the trigger. You have to replace the whole arm. This fits on my thule sidearm just like the old one. Kind of a let down that it didn't come with any hardware for mounting on the swivel joint or for the wheel hook but I just used the old hardware and hook from the arm I was replacing.
This is exactly what we needed. I appreciate ETrailer for their fast service and their great website. We were able to select the right replacement item the first time!
