Overall the quality of the product is solid and very durable just like the original one we had (which had to be replaced due to a rear ending car accident that had nothing to do with the quality of the rack/backbone). Note the item we received had a burred edge left over from the manufacturing process that initially prevented mounting of the extra 2 bike rack extension. All similar backbone items in stock at the time at etrailer had the same burr issue from the manufacturer, so we had to remove the burr ourselves to mount the 2 bike extension (easily ground off in a couple of minutes with a dremmel).545805

Installation of the hitch, wiring,rear bike rack, and new roof rack towers went well. I didn't set any speed records, but I was more concerned with doing no damage on a new 2019 Toyota Sienna AWD van. The hitch fit up well per instructions except that I was able to work around the exhaust without lowering it. Underbody panel and rear fascia did both need to be removed. Very happy with the end result. The new van is now set up to haul the bikes and canoes and move my log splitter.668943

Quick shipping on replacement shank for my Thule T-2 bike carrier. Bought this item to change hitch size from 1.25” on a previous vehicle to 2” on my new vehicle. Tried an adapter on the old shank, but felt that the carrier tended to rock more than it did when used with the 1.25” shank into a 1.25” receiver. Wish Thule sold only the part that goes into the receiver, rather than the whole assembly, I’m sure it would be a lot cheaper. Glad etrailer sells replacement parts like this.506074

Someone hit my car and bent my bike rack. I was able to salvage one of the 2 bike carrying trays, but hitch and frame were bent. I order this replacement. It came in a very timely fashion. Good thing I had the directions and tulle tools from the original to put this back together. Once I got going with those it was an easy repair - even for a girl!!409351

It's difficult to give this item a rating. It is what it is. I got a new vehicle that uses the 2" receiver. I had the T2 rack with 11/4" shank. I looked into adapters, but none got good reviews. I was hoping to just get the part that goes into the receiver (and swap over the linkage and bushings), but that doesn't seem to be sold by itself. I was happy that etrailer sells all the other repair parts I needed to refurbish my rusty 12 year old rack.202594

After a car rearended and bent my rack I had to take it apart and replace the bent parts. Although expensive to replace, this part was extremely easy to swap out. Just a few easy bolt turns and it was good as new. 275383

While the product works as specified, I'm not real high on Thule charging a couple of hundred for basically a painted two foot piece of steel so I knocked it down a star, but it isn't etrailer's fault as that is the price everywhere.
