Hey there Swagman bike rack owners. Today we're going to taking a look at the Replacement Two Inch Shank Adapter for your Swagman bike rack.Now, one of the coolest features about Swagman bike racks is their ability to work with multiple hitches, not just inch and a quarter, but two inch hitches as well, with the included adapter sleeve that comes with most Swagman bike racks. If you've got that in place, you're able to enjoy Swagman bike racks with our two inch hitch, but you can also remove it. If you have another hitch in the family, maybe an inch and a quarter, you can use the bike rack with that. Now, if you switch back and forth between the two from time to time, it's definitely possible to lose this adapter. If you do, no fret, don't worry, you can get a replacement here at etrailer.com.
Or maybe you only had an inch and a quarter, so you didn't think you needed this, you got rid of it. But now you've got a new vehicle with a larger hitch. That's cool, just pick up this replacement part here, and you're good to go with your new hitch.This two inch adapter is going to be a great replacement for your XTC-2, XC2, Chinook, G10, Semi 2.0, Titan, or Trailhead, Swagman bike racks. So to get your new adapter sleeve installed, if you still have the tools that came with your bike rack when you assembled it, this Allen key is directly from that kit, it'll work great. If not, you probably have a set of Allen wrenches at home, and those will work just fine as well.
You want to make sure the threaded hole lines up with the second hole on your shank, and the portion here with the divot that is designed to accept our hex bolt. We'll go ahead and get that fled through, into our threaded hole on the other side. Then we'll use that Allen tool to tighten it down.You do want to get this fairly tight, because this is part of the anti-rattle connection for your bike rack. So get it as tight as you can. Definitely slightly beyond flush there is good.
And then, the kit does come with a new threaded hitch pin. Some people call it an anti-rattle bolt. You can use that to get this re-installed into your two inch receiver.During this process, one thing you won't want to mess with is that metal insert inside your shank. That is actually the threaded nut side of your anti-rattle bolt, and that's what it threads into. It's already specifically made to line up with the hole here on the side.
Messing with that can make your anti-rattle device not work. We don't want that, so just go ahead and leave that alone when you're installing your receiver adapter.Then to get you back out on the road again, it's just a matter of lining up your hitch pin holes, reinstalling your new threaded hitch pin. That'd be if you weren't missing your old one, that's okay. Now you got two, just in case, nothing wrong with that. Go ahead and get this tightened down with our three quarter inch socket, and then we're ready to hit the road and continue enjoying our Swagman bike rack for many years to come.That completes our look at the replacement shank adapter for your Swagman bike rack..

Perfect fit replacement for my Swagman G10! It did not come with any instructions but the etrailer website photos provided insight as to the proper orientation. Mine also came with painted black hardware rather than plain metal (an upgrade in my opinion).
the product I ordered comes with the swaggerman bike rack as an adapter. So when tried access this product on the internet it kept trying to sell me the bike rack, when I accessed it by image of adapters it did the same thing. After hours of searching I finally found a way to buy the product from you. So I am suggesting you make it easier to separate the bike rack from the accessories, some would give up, I didn't. Great product, engineered well and I know it will last. Thank You etrailer.
I purchased the Swagman Bike hitch adapter. It is of excellent quality and well engineered. It works absolutely great I also cannot say enough about etrailer.com and the company. Couldnt be happier with my Swagman Hitch Adapter
Lost my original that came with my swagman XC2 bike rack, this fit perfectly and allowed me to use my 2" receiver. Shipping was really fast, overall experience with etrailer was great.

Still works great no rust after many hours of use
It’s great that eTrailer carries parts for its gear. I had lost the 1¼ - 2" adapter for my bike carrier and was able to easily buy this replacement. Bravo!
It needed improvement, though. Because of the mass of a loaded carrier, it “rattled” on roads that were even slightly rough. I drilled and tapped a ? - 18 hole, and instead of securing it in the 2" receiver with the usual ? pin, I used a ? bolt snugged down with a split washer. No more wobble!
It would be a good service if Swagman did this in the factory, but in any case, they make a good product and eTrailer provides good service.
I was very happy with the service I received. While the first attempt did not work the followup took care of my issue. The adapter that I received worked very well. I knew that once I had everything sorted out that I would locate my original adapter and sure enough I did. The original adapter does make the rack look straight where the replacement made it have a slight tilt. Overall I thought that the service was great. I know I will not hesitate if I have a further need for trailer parts.
E-trailer comes through for me again. I was making it way too complicated to find an adapter for my Swagman bike rack 1.25" to fit my 2" hitch. Even ordered the wrong piece initially which sadly I can't return. It fit but extended out too much and made my bike rack wobble way beyond my comfort zone.
That said...... this adapter is perfect.... excellent price, well made and a perfect fit without the extension and wobble. AND, I didn't have to purchase a new bike rack.
Just the ticket for transitioning 1.25" hitch connectors to 2". This installed quickly on our hitch mounted bike rack so it would fit the 2" hitch on our new vehicle.
Fits my Swagman XC-2 and the factory receiver hitch perfectly.

Item is still performing excellently.
Purchased to I stall in a drop hitch on truck so tailgate would open without hitting. I inserted this in the new hitch inside the 2” receiver. I ended up spot welding it to hold it in place. Works great
What else can I say about etrailer? I placed my order at 12PM and got an email two hours later saying that my order had been shipped. Unbelievably fast! The item arrived safely only a couple days later.
Product is fantastic -- great looking finish and very nice hardware. Worked perfectly w/ my 2" receiver on my 2018 Subaru Forester -- perfect for my Swagman 2.0 semi! Thanks again etrailer for hooking it up, cheers!
This was just the part I needed! Was shipping quickly and will be used this weekend.
I bought this for my Swagman XTC 2 bike rack. Mine is an older version I guess as I did not receive this item with the rack. It eliminated the wobble I had when using a 1-1/4" to 2" adapter that did not have the threaded bolt that this unit has. I use it on a front receiver on my truck and it is working great! I've only used it once but it looks like it has solved the wobbling problem.
It is very sturdy and looks like it will last a long time.
hitch adapter works great. I lost the original adapter and called etrailer for help. They knew exactly what I was looking for and I received my hitch adapter a few days later. Great customer service and very knowledgeable.

its still a great product and we are having no problem with it
