Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at these Curt Replacement Safety Chain Loops for your factory puck system on your 2022 Ram 2500. Of course, you can get this in the full kit if you've got a gooseneck trailer you need to tow where it comes with the two and 5/16 inch ball and both safety chain loops. But if for whatever reason one of these becomes missing or just not working anymore, you can pick up replacements of just the safety chain loops and it's going to work just like your old ones. So let's check them out. So this comes with all the same pins that your old one did and it'll drop into those factory pucks just like it did before, securing in with both pins to keep it locked up (metal clanking) and in place.
This comes with two, so one for each side. And one thing I might recommend is maybe swapping out this pin for a locking one if you're concerned about security, maybe that's why you're looking at replacement safety chain loops in the first place. But as it comes, it's just going to have that clevis style pin and it's going to work just like the old ones. One complaint about these is that they're a little bit small for certain clevis style hooks. This one is a 5/16 inch hook and it can't quite get around there.
So that's just something to keep in mind. If you're looking at these as replacements, you probably already know that but something to be aware of. It's going to be the exact same size as the old ones, so if you have that problem before, you'll have it again. And that's all there is to it. It's a really simple part to replace.
So if you've already got that gooseneck ball set up, then you can just replace the one part that needs it rather than the whole thing. It's going to be a lot more cost effective in the long run and keeps the whole kit working like new if you can replace just the worn out parts. Powder coated steel is durable and corrosion resistant.This System is absolutely the best solution for ease of installation and easy removal for when you need your truck bed. It did not come with any instructions but the video on the eTrailer website made it easy. You will need to add the safety chain loops as this is not part of the Gen Y Goose-ball package. From the time I opened the package to installation was less than 30 minutes.

Curt came up with a great solution to the over sized and odd factory safety hook bed pucks. Excellent quality and a design improvement. Etrailer is our go to source for all trailer and trailer related truck parts. Logical website, great service, only quality products. We asked the product specialist at etrailer and Curt if our 5/16 clevis hooks would fit these pucks. Neither knew the answer, but both agreed the question needs to be addressed and added to the product website. Got a follow up from etrailer and after receiving them we found that the 3/8" clevis hooks with safety clasp will fit. 5/16 or smaller will NOT close around the loop.
I First Purchased the Reese safety chain Loops for my 2016 Ram 3500 with the Factory Gooseneck Prep kit. The diameter was too wide for My BigTex 22GN HD with Factory Break away chains. I had to decide weather the Safety chains were going to be replaced or the safety chain loops. E-Trailer provided me with a easy fix. The Curt Safety Chain Loops were the best fix. They fit the Factory gooseneck under bed prep kit and my safety chains on my BigTex 22GN. Part# C60617.

I purchased a Mopar gooseneck ball kit when I bought my 2016 Ram 3500. The loops that came with that kit were not sized correctly for the safety chain hooks on the gooseneck trailer I have. The hooks fit these loops with room to spare and are built heavier than the loops from Mopar. I give it 4 stars for not being made in the USA.
This review is more about the customer service than the product itself.
I had ordered the safety chain loops and’s they were shipped out right away. The product was lost between states at some point but the empty box arrived to the UPS facility in my town. I contacted Etrailer right away and they very promptly sent out a new shipment.
I’m sure the product will be great once I get the chance to use them. I have ordered several towing products from Etrailer and have NEVER had an issue at all.
Safety chain loops install right into the factory RAM pucks with little effort. They are very easy to use and quick to install. When finished, just remove them and your bed is back to level again! Great product and great service from etrailer.com!
