Is Wiring Adapter Available to Connect 4-Flat and 4-Round to 7-Way Vehicle End Connector

Question:

Good Afternoon, Looking at your wiring adapters I dont see exactly what I need... My RV has a seven blade, I have a tow dolly with 4 flat and additional lights which have 4 round. Are their any adapters which would accommodate my needs? or how about a 7 blade with two 4 flats? I could cut off the 4 round and wire in a four flat? Any suggestions? Thank You,

I have a couple of solutions for you, but there is no adapter available that will allow you to connect both the 4-Way flat and 4-Round connectors to your motor home's 7-Way blade-style connector.

If local laws don't require you to use both the lights on the tow dolly as well as additional lights, I recommend only using the lights that will be most visible on the road, likely the additional taillights. We have one wiring adapter that will allow you to connect the 7-Way blade-style connector on your motor home to the 4-Way round connector, the Hopkins Endurance Flex-Coil Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47043.

If you decide to use the lights on the tow dolly, we have a number of 4-Way flat to 7-Way blade adapters. If the tow dolly's connector will reach, you can use a single piece adapter like the Pollak # PK12716. If you need an extension with the adapter, you can use the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Trailer Coiled Wire Adapter # HM47065.

If you need both the tow dolly's lights as well as the additional taillights to function, you can use the Hopkins 7-Pole to 4-Pole and 5-Pole # 37385. This adapter will allow you to plug two 4-Way flat connectors in at the same time to your motor home's 7-Way connector. A 4-Way flat will fit in the 5-Way connector space. For this adapter, as you referenced, you will want to change out the 4 Round for a 4-Way flat connector # 18004. I recommend using butt connectors # DW05744-5 to make the connections for the new 4-Way connector. With this set-up, it is important to ensure that the lights will not overload the motor home's wiring.
