High-Low Adapter Needed for Flat Towing a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

Question:

I failed to mention - I need a bike rack adapter. The straight thru 2 for the tow bar hitch is fine Im 2 off level and Demco says +- 4. At 3975+ can I use the Malone MPG544 or is there similar unit that might be stronger?

Since you can use different brand high-low adapters with any tow bar we actually have flat towing high-low adapters that will work for your situation. Unfortunately none of our dual adapters have the weight capacity to accomplish this.

Attached is a link to our selection of high-low adapters that you can filter through. These range from a 2" rise/drop # RM-072-2 all the way to a 10-1/4" rise/drop # RM-048-10. If you're looking for an option with about a 7" drop like what the Malone # RM-048-10 has then you'll want to use the Blue Ox # BX88241 instead as it is rated for 10,000 lbs towing instead of the 4,000 lbs that you see with the Malone.

No, I apologize for not sticking with the dual options. While the Malone Dual Receiver # MPG544 can technically take on the 3,975 lbs of your '08 Wrangler, it does make me pretty nervous that you are 25 lbs away from the max weight rating of this adapter. I do have some other options that I think will work out much better for you. When you say that the Demco tow bar is off by 2" do you mean it needs to be lowered by 2"? If that's the case then the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 is exactly what you're looking for. One of the receivers sits above/below by 2" while the other one sits above/below by 4" and this product has a 10,000 lb weight capacity. Another option you might consider, which is becoming more and more popular, is using a Gen-Y Hitch like part # 325-GH-303, # 325-GH-304, or # 325-GH-404. These can be mounted so the receivers either sit above or below the trailer hitch on your Winnebago and they are each rated for 10,000 lbs. The best part about them is that they don't reduce the weight capacity of your trailer hitch like the Malone option does. These options are a bit more pricey than the Malone or Roadmaster options, but the trade-off is that these are made to be used for multiple applications so you aren't just limited to flat-towing. I have attached some review videos that you can check out as well.
