I’m very happy with this kit and the price was reasonable. It was just what I needed to replace on my 1985 dual axle ~25’ ez loader boat trailer with surge brakes. I used several cylinder (sm & lg WD40 cans etc..) like objects to help make the bends. First time doing this and am rather pleased how well it turned out!

I can’t thank etrailer enough for providing install videos!!!!!

This was a good product to get me started on replacing the corroding brake system on my 15 year boat trailer. It was not an exact replacement for what I had, but I was able to adapt it to my needs. Brake line was easy to shape with common tools, and avoided the need for me to buy and learn to use a flaring tool.

by:

Calling etrailer helped. They got me the right brake kit. Wish they were a tad easier to adjust, buy ya cant have everything.

by:

I just finished putting surge brakes on my boat trailer. It all went very well. All of items fit perfectly, and was quite easy. Everything I needed was included in the shipment.

by:

Easy to install (but did need an adaptor for our master cylinder)

by:

These guys are the best! Blake was very helpful with all of my questions. My order arrived before it was promised. The parts are perfect. I will definitely continue doing business with etrailer!

  • Replacement Brakes System to Upgrade 2006 Sea Doo Boat Trailer
I'm happy to help with all the parts for your 2006 Sea Doo trailer. I did a little research and it appears it is a single axle trailer, for which I recommend the following parts: -Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # K2HR35D -Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit - Single Axle - 18' # 18SI-BLKIT -Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout - Disc - Zinc - 2" Ball - 7,000 lbs # DM62VR This combination is what I would use for excellent trailer brakes...

  • Hub and Drum and Brakes for Trailer With 2,000 lb Axles & Bearings L44649
Thanks for that great information we have exactly what you need for your 2,000 lb axles. The number you gave of 1.063 inches in diameter where your bearings ride on the spindle corresponds to Bearing # L44649. Knowing that, we can get you the correct hub and drum, which is the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 2K Axles # AKHD-545-2-2K. These hub and drums work with 7" brake assemblies and for hydraulic brakes the correct assembly is the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # 23-398-399. These...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Hydraulic Brakes Locking Up
It sounds like your husband had to cut a hydraulic brake line to free-up your trailer's locked brakes. Causes for this kind of issue could be anything from a bad master cylinder in your actuator/coupler, to a blockage in one of the brake lines, to damaged/rusted brake assemblies, or to the brake fluid deteriorating. A 12-year-old trailer, even if used gently and stored properly in the off-season, could have by now developed any of the above problems. Trailer brakes should be bled and...

  • Recommendation on Switching from Electric Brakes to Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes
Mobile home axles were designed as a one time use axle. The spindle of these axles are usually come in odd sizes, making it them incompatible with standard trailer hubs and parts. If any of these part need replacing, then the standard trailer hubs and parts will not work and then you may have to change your axles. However, if you are going to reuse your wheel hubs and if you have a 5 bolt brake flanges on the axles, then we might be able to find the parts needed to convert over to hydraulic...

  • Demco Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # DM5426 for Use on 1993 Calkins Trailer in a Marine Environment
I have confirmed with my contacts at Demco, that the Demco Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # DM5426 is coated with a galvanized finish. With the additional galvanized finish, it provides the additional corrosion resistance that you are looking for compared to steel brake lines. This brake line kit is also 3/16 of an inch in diameter, and is designed for use on single axle trailers. This kit includes lines and fittings needed to run brake fluid from your surge brake actuator to the trailer...

  • What is the Difference in the Demco Hydraulic Brake Line Kit Part # DM5427 and Part # DM5426
The Demco Hydraulic Brake Line Kit for Single Axle Trailers part # DM5427 and Demco Hydraulic Brake Line Kit for Single Axle Trailers part # DM5426 are almost identical. The only exception being one of the steel brake lines in the DM5426 kit is 80" and in the DM5427 kit it is 72". Everything else is identical. Same hoses, lines, keepers, screws and hardware. I have linked a video my buddy Shano did of the kit if you would like to check out how it all works together.

  • Brake Line Kit Recommendation for Sailboat Trailer with Single Axle
I would recommend just replacing everything with one of our kits like the # DM5426. This will fit your Demco actuator and will come with everything needed. If one of the lines is in need of replacing chances are the others will soon follow. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.
