This product was super easy to install. I pulled the old brake line out of the inside of the frame with a rope attached to the end and pulled the new brake line back into the frame. The only thing that would make this set better is they should include three flexible lines. You need one for each disk brake and a third for the jump off the axle to the 15 foot brake line. This is the only reason I give it four stars. BTW- I was my products were a little delayed because one item I ordered was on back order. I later learned that calling to place the order ensures priority and the person can check stock on the phone while you place your order. Don't just order online.

I love my disc brakes! Every trailer should have them. They are worlds beyond electric brakes!!! They work just like the brakes on my truck....no herky jerky stopping with these.

  • Changing a Trailer From Electric Drum Brakes to Hydraulic Disc Brakes
The axle you purchased from us before is part # 35545E-ST-89. It uses inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649. Since you already have electric drum brakes all you need to convert your trailer to disc is the brakes, brake lines, and an actuator. You didn't say whether you want hydraulic or electric over hydraulic brakes. The only difference in parts is which actuator you choose. If you want hydraulic surge brakes I recommend part # T4745720 as long as you have a 1-7/8 or 2...

  • Parts Needed For Installing Stainless Steel Disc Brakes On a 6,000LB Single Axle Trailer
Starting with the axles, we do not carry any galvanized axles in the dimension you are needing. You may consider taking the axles you already have and having them galvanized at a local facility as long as they are not otherwise damaged. While we do not carry sealed hubs like the Vortex we do have a Stainless Hub # KH42655S. You will need a Inner Bearing # 25580, Outer Bearing # 15123 and Grease Seal # GS-2250DL(2.25" ID) or # GS-2125DL(2.125" ID) for each hub. The Bearing Buddy # BB2441SS...

  • Parts Needed to Add Disc Brakes on a Tow Dolly
Yes, it is possible to put hydraulic disc brakes on a tow dolly. We do not offer a kit specifically to add disc brakes on your dolly, but I am happy to walk you through all the parts you will need. However, there are a couple of things we need to know to choose a disc brake kit for the dolly. You need to know what the weight capacity of the your axle is to make sure you get the correct brake assemblies. If you do not know the capacity, there should be a label or sticker on the axle that...

  • Electric Over Hydraulic Brakes, Leaf Springs, Bearings, Hardware, & Brake Lines for Dexter 7K Axles
Since the ProLube kit # XLPROLUBE2440KIT is only rated for use on 5,200 to 6,000 pound axles I do not recommend using it for 7,000 pound axles. Grease would be better for marine applications since a hub full of grease repels water and an oil bath hub could just let the water set on top. The correct grease seal for disc brake kit # K2HR712D is # RG06-070. It does have an inner diameter of 2.25 inches and the outer diameter at 3.376 inches will fit the hub in the disc brake kit. Spring...

  • Recommended Disc Brake Kit For 2200lb Axle On Trailer
We do have one kit that may fit your 2200lb axle, but you will need to confirm which bearing combination it uses, and you will need to replace the wheels with 13" wheel as it is not compatible with your 14" wheels. You can do this by removing one of your current hubs and looking for the bearing number stamped in the face of each bearing as shown in the included picture of the # L44649. As long as your bearing combination is inner and outer bearing # L44649 you will need the Kodiak Disc...

  • How To Convert Military M105A2 From Air Over Hydraulic to Hydraulic with New Coupler
The Titan Zinc-Plated, A-Frame Brake Actuator part # T4045500 is designed for a standard 50 degree a-frame trailer which is most common so if this is what you have then it will work well. That said, you'd need to remove the air over hydraulic actuator and run brake lines back to each of the braking assemblies with the HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit part # HS496-151.

  • Parts Needed to Convert Black Series HQ15 Camper to Disc Brakes
To convert the 7k trailer axles of your trailer to Kodiak disc brakes the first thing you'd need is the correct hub/rotors which for that the part # KOD75FR would be a great option if your current hubs have 9/16 inch diameter wheel studs. If instead they are 1/2 inch you'd want the # KOD58FR. For an actuator the Hydrastar options are the best way to go as we have found they are the most reliable and quickest reacting. So for that we have the kit part # HS381-9067. This also comes with...

  • Can Actuator, Harness and Brake Lines be Purchased as a Kit?
The HydraStar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # HS381-8065 is available in a kit. The HydraStar Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator with Breakaway and 7-Way RV Harness # HS381-9065 features the actuator, breakaway system and 7-way connector. The only other piece you'd need is the brake lines; for a single axle you would want the HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-151 and for a double axle you would want # HS496-152. I've added links to video reviews of these...
