Today we'll be reviewing part number C40093. This is the Curt Sway Control Hitch Ball. This is for use with the sway control system. It's going to feature a nice chrome finish. The shank diameter is going to measure 5/8 of an inch. If we take a measurement of the shank length, it's going to measure 1 and 3/4 of an inch and the actual threaded portion is going to measure about an inch and a half. The ball diameter is going to be an inch and a quarter.
You're going to place this on followed by the lock washer and then you would thread on the nut and you need to make sure that this is torqued to 170 foot pounds. That's per the manufacturer. That's going to do it for our review of part number C40093. This is the Curt Sway Control Hitch Ball. .

I tighten down the sway control too much and have snapped 2 so far. I'll back it off a little, or order a dozen.

Had to get an extra sway brake ball for my WD hitch so I didn't have to steal it from my adjustable ball mounts. 5 minutes and I was up and running

This is a great little ball hitch. It is well made and was exactly what we wanted. We had searched several places and could not find this size, so we were very happy when we found this on line. It was shipped out immediately and we received it quickly. Great place to shop on line!!!!!!!

Nice long shank; worked well for me on an 45 degree angle iron trailer tongue. I have several hitches that will receive the Curt sway control hitch ball at a reasonable price.

I needed to order a sway control ball for a custom project. Not related to towing the trailer. I saw one of the balls in a sway kit. I was surprised that when I called the sales tech actually knew what I wanted! Knowledgeable service is unusual today.

I broke my original by over tightening my sway bar. Learned to get a better feel for it now. No problems with this product, it has been working great and was priced much better than most local RV stores.

Nothing too special, I mean it's a hitch ball, but very affordable and nice and shiny. What more could you want from a hitch ball? The nut screws on smoothly and the washer is round. I'd say my expectations have been met. Thanks etrailer!

It's just a hitch with a braket for the small ball for the sway bar got earlier, looks just like their photos.
I have ordered at least 3 other times from here, and have always received excellent service. The product ships the day of order and the product is exactly as expected, the only difference is the price. They continuely are much less for the same product.
I will order again for sure

- What Size Ball Mounts To The Side Tab On The Curt Ball Mount?The Curt Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab # D320 will allow for a 1" ball mount on the main ball mount. The side tab accepts a Curt Sway Control Hitch Ball # C40093. This shank diameter is 5/8" and the ball is 1-1/4". The 1-1/4" sway ball is not designed to hold a vertical load, instead it is designed to use a Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200. This will help to reduce sway that occurs on larger trailers.

We have used the sway bar while towing for about 2,000 miles so far with zero wear or rust, and hasnt loosened. Basically its doing exactly what its supposed to, I couldnt be happier!
