Expert Reply:
The Curt Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab # D320 will allow for a 1" ball mount on the main ball mount. The side tab accepts a Curt Sway Control Hitch Ball # C40093. This shank diameter is 5/8" and the ball is 1-1/4".
The 1-1/4" sway ball is not designed to hold a vertical load, instead it is designed to use a Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200. This will help to reduce sway that occurs on larger trailers.
