Parts are missing... there is no way to connect the trailer lights to wire harness. The adapter is missing. Lights are useless to me this way.

Wow, that really bites! So sorry to hear that. I will have our customer service team reach out to you about this.

Again you Guys have made life easy with your video and helpful tips!
Like your shipping packages as well. Compact with little waste of materials.
I used this product as a light system for my motorcycle carrier when I haul my TW200. With the bike on the carrier the vehicle taillights are blocked.
The TL29K light kit was what I used to solve this problem.

by:

The kit parts were good quality and clearly marked. The order arrived quickly and the kit was a good value.

by:

Product works as advertised except for wire clips. They keep falling off.

by:

Exactly what I needed, plus very fast a rrival.

by:

Thanks Much, just got in from installing everything I ordered and it
all went on nicely. I rebuilt a 6' X 12' 1999 utility trailer
with treated lumber etc..........plus your parts, looks great. Thanks
again, going to do the same for another utility trailer I have, a
6' X 10, so, I'll be ordering from you later in the summer. Thanks
again

I am very pleased with this product. Bought this kit to replace lights on a boat trailer from the 1980's.Install and wiring was easy to do with no problems. Lights worked great. Recommend this product.

by:

old boat trailer, new Kayak trailer

by:

The light kit was shipped promptly and nicely packaged. Everything looks to be made of very good components. I will be insalling this kit on a mobility scooter carrier and 90% of what I need was included in this kit.

by:

It will fill my need in fixing lights in small boat trailer

by:

Good looking lights. Installed easily.

Light kit from etrailer installation pi ctures.

by:

The product was fine, etrailer however packed heavy items with this causing one light to be smashed. Fortunately, not a part I absolutely needed so not worth the effort to RMA this.

Thank you for reaching out about this. I have sent your information to our customer service team already and they will be getting in touch with you.

First off--Dealing with etrailer.com was a pleasure. The trailer light kit was just what we needed. Unfortunately our older trailer would not provide as good a ground as that required. The forward clearance lights worked fine but we had to individually ground the rear lights directly to the trailer frame next to the light mounts. Also, one of the rear lights, the one without the license plate light, had debris inside that precluded it lighting appropriately. After completely disassembling it we found wire shavings/cuttings that impeded a solid contact. Fortunately the co-owner of the trailer is an electrician and he had all the solutions. Alone I would have had to hire someone.

Lights continue to function appropriately after a year of exposure to Montana weather.

by:

The trailer kit I ordered arrived in a timely fashion and the items included are solid nice looking pieces.

I reviewed the video on installation and found the wiring and installation of the lights to be extremely simple. I rewired my entire trailer, replaced the tail lights and added the running lights (did not have these before I ordered the kit) in about two hours. Could have done it faster but I was in no rush.

I would definately recommend the company and products to anyone in need of replacing wiring and/or lights.

Product is still in place, still working beautifully. Did have to replace on of the tail lights but that was due to an issue with the tilt in the trailer and the light getting smashed on a rock -

by:

Can't beat the prices and product selection. I was able to get bearings, races and seals to do two hubs for what I would have paid to do one locally. Although the bearing kits were made in China, they appeared to be a better quality bearing than the China bearings I removed from the hubs. No issues with packaging or shipping. Not only can one find parts here but, lots of good info and support as well.

The trailer I installed the parts on belongs to my 93 yr old neighbor. Needless to say, it is used very little. He and his son were planning on using it and wanted me to check it out before doing so. Thats when I discovered the need for new bearings and seals. He also wanted it road worthy for any of the neighbors that might need to borrow it. However, what time it has been used, it has done exceptionally well. Very smooth and quiet and although I had a bit of difficulty getting the pigtail to plug into the connection on the truck, all lights are working for the first time in many years. Thank you for checking in on us. Have a blessed day.

Unfortunately, Optronics doesnt offer instructions for the # TL29BK trailer taillight kit. However, if you click the link I provided to the trailer wiring help article, youll see a wiring diagram showing how the kit would be used to wire a trailer.

by:

I haven't installed the lights yet as I'm waiting to get the trailer sandblasted and painted. But, it's exactly what I needed and I'm sure they're gonna work out just fine. eTrailer has a great lighting selection to choose from including LED's.

Great product, fast shipping.

I want to thank the folks at e trailer for the good service. All the parts I ordered are of good quality, they all worked good and I will be using e trailer from now on! I also think that the email they sent with the instructions for each item was a great idea.

all is well and working fine. Your store is the best! could use LESS e-mails Thanks

by:

Looks nice, but no instructions whatsoever. The lights have copper holes in them, that are partially labeled, but some of the labels don't make any sense. And how can you stuff a twisted wire into a hole, it just doesn't work. How many engineers does is take to screw up a simple trailer light set? A pain in the butt, I wish I have never bought them. Will not by these sorts of things on line again, will go to local farm stores.

Each lamp will have two holes that are used for connection points. On the drivers side, one hole is for the brown wire, which is the running lamps. The other is for the left turn/brake lamp, which is the yellow wire. On the passenger side, one hole is for the brown running lamp wire, the other for the green right turn/brake lamp wire. To the wires, use a small flat blade screwdriver and push it in the small hole under the larger hole where the wire s. Push the stripped wire in until it stops, then remove the screwdriver. This locks the wire into place.

by:

The connection (wire to taillight) for this trailer light kit is extremely flimsy and clearly not intended for external mounting. I ended up reordering submersible tail lights to get a more rugged connection. The wiring harness is fine and the tail lights work but the connection is flimsy.

It's very inexpensive but a few dollars more for a more rugged set of lights is probably a better buy.

  • How To Ground Trailer Tail Lights Without a Ground Wire To a Wooden Surface
The Standard Trailer Light Kit with 25' Wire Harness part # TL29BK as I am sure you noticed grounds via the mounting hardware therefore there is not a singular ground wire. In order to attach this light to a wooden surface you will need to run a ground wire yourself up to the trailer tongue using the mounting studs on the back with ring terminals part # DW05705-1 and wire part # 12-1-1. The other option you have is to use the Peterson LED Light Kit for Trailers part # V944 which does have...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Taillights that Stop Working When Brakes are Pressed
Sounds like a weak ground circuit on your trailer wiring. This is pretty common and what you described matches this. Try improving the connection of the main ground wire of the trailer wiring harness. Make sure it is attached to a clean metal surface. Or you can run all of the trailer wires back to the main ground. This is actually the ideal solution. But you can also check the current grounds for the lights to make sure they are making a solid connection to a clean metal surface.

Are you referring to the trailer wiring kit you bought from us or the trailer lights I see that you ordered at same time? I would assume it's the light kit part # TL29BK which since you tested and the lights have power ran to them that would indicate the issue is the ground circuit. These ground through the mounting hardware so make sure they are mounted to a clean metal surface. If you tested them before mounting them that would be why they aren't functioning since they wouldn't be grounded.
