Etrailer is by far an excellent company to deal with. Quality products and fast shipping is only part of what makes them the best. These LED lights are of superior quality and I highly recommend them and this company.

by:

Beautiful tail light. Very bright for the brake and turn signal. Fitted it on the back of my trailer with an L bracket.

by:

Tired of dealing with corroded bulbs so bought these LED units. Same 2" bolt spacing as old one so easily mounted. Spliced wire connections and works great. Super bright! Will see how it holds up to weather. Hopefully will never have to touch it again.

by:

First set of submersible trailer light that have lasted the rigors of salt water. Highly recommend this product

by:

They sent me old halogen light fixture. Not sure how that got sent out the door.

I know that's super frustrating to have to go through placing the order and waiting for it to arrive and then it turns out its the wrong thing, and then having to let us know and then having to go through whatever process to get the correct item sent. I can only chalk it up to human error plain and simple. I am glad to see our customer service team is sending you the correct part. Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

by:

So far so good I have had these lights on for over a year now and have forgotten several times to unplug when launch or retrieving the boat it doesn't seem to effect the lights as they still work fine. Stop and signal is not that bright in daylight but shows up fine in dusk or night. It could be my angle of the trailer that causes this.

by:

E trailer always gets my orders shipped quickly and correctly.

etrailer has always been good to me

This light is a great up grade to the stocks lights that came with my new "Trailer in a Bag". I am looking forward to these LED's working well with all the bouncing road punishment a small trailer has.

by:

These lights were very easy to install, they look and work great, would recommend them for your trailer lights.

This is the second pair that I have purchased for a PWC and dirt bike trailer. They are excellent. One of the lenses in the first pair was defective. I called Optronics and they immediately shipped me another. Excellent Tech Support. The lights are very bright and so easy to install. Be sure and secure the ground wire to the trailer frame against raw metal (un-painted and freshly ground), or the lights will not perform properly. Also, the washer provided goes on the fixture side of the trailer mount. Locking nuts secure the light on the opposite side with no washer.

I have since bought two more for my dirt bike trailer. These taillights are exceptional. They are very well made, easy to install and provide BRIGHT red light. I did have to return one of the lights which was defectivenew. You replaced it right away and I have had no further issues. I would highly recommend. Wish you had lights for my Toy FJ40LandCruiser.....

You can add a converter to the trailer wiring to separate the brake and turn signals. You will also need to add an amber turn lights to your trailer. You can use the tail light converter, part # 118158. This will separate the turn signal circuit from the brake light circuit. This should be installed on the trailer in a way that keeps it protected from the elements. You will need to use the wires from your trailer wiring harness and attach them in the following manner. • Troubleshooting Right Blinker/Stop Light Not Functioning on a Trailer
The first thing I would do is check the ground on the right tail light assembly. The ground may not be strong enough to carry the amperage. You will want to make sure the ground is attached to a clean metal surface or if the assembly grounds through the mounting hardware you will want to make sure that surface is a clean metal surface too. Since you have voltage at the connector you know the problem lies somewhere between the connector on the trailer and the light assemblies. Most likely...

  • LED Trailer Light Recommendation to Reduce Amperage Draw and Prevent Converter Burn Up
It is very possible that you are overdrawing the taillight converter you have installed on your race car trailer and that is why it is burning up. The easiest fix would be to go to LED trailer lights as they put a fraction of the amperage draw on the trailer wiring when compared to an incandescent. To see all of the LED trailer lights we carry check out the link I attached to the right.

  • Finding Cause of Brake Lamp on Challenger 5th Wheel that Illuminates when Running Lights are On
The first step is to determine if the problem is on the vehicle or the trailer. Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2992 on the pins of the trailer connector on your truck. Have a helper activate each lighting function as you test the pins on the connector to ensure that the correct pins are getting power while the correct function is activated. • Can Bulbs of Trailer Lighting Be Swapped to Convert To LED
Yes to both of your questions. You can swap your incandescent bulbs for LEDs to convert the trailer to LED and you can just splice in additional taillights with additional wiring. Looks like you have a Series 92 taillight so the correct bulb style is 1157 and for LED you'd want # P231157R360.

  • Are the LEDs of the Optronics Light # STL8RB Attached to the Lens or the Housing
The lens of the LED Submersible Trailer Stop, Turn and Tail Light # STL8RB that you referenced is held on with 4 screws around the outside of the housing. The LEDs on the inside of the light are not attached to the lens. They are attached to the housing. Since the light isn't designed for that type of modification it would be hard for me to safely recommend you do that. An easier option might be to install the # 763560 as this is a capsule designed to replace the light assembly of a taillight....

  • After Installing New Trailer LED Tail Lights the Lights Will Not Light Up
This could be a ground issue. Without a proper ground the circuit cannot be completed, and the lights will not work. The light grounds should be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. If there is anything between a light ground and the metal trailer frame or if the trailer has an aluminum frame, tilt bed, or folding tongue, any of these things can interrupt the ground. Running jumper wires from the light grounds to the main trailer connector ground can help. It is also...

Ground problems normally show up when there is more draw on a system such as when you have the running lights on and then use another function like a turn signal or brake light. Also make sure that the new light wires are connected to the correct wires on the trailer. The back of the light housing should indicate the function of each wire. • Does Optronics Replacement Side Marker Lens # AL9RB Use a Gasket
The Optronics Replacement Side Marker Lens for STL8RB and STL9RB, part # AL9RB, does not use a gasket. This lens is used on the Optronics LED Submersible Trailer Lights, part # STL8RB, and part # STL9RB which does not require any gaskets because the LED light system is encased (sealed) in plastic making the LED light fixture itself waterproof. The side marker lens and the front tail light lens can be replaced if broken, but neither one requires a gasket since they do not need to be sealed.

  • What Would Cause Trailer Wiring To Flash or Blink When Hitting Bumps in Road
Your trailer lighting is flickering because the wiring of the trailer is grounding through the hitch ball and coupler and not through the ground wire circuit. When you hit a bump the ball intermittently stops making contact with the coupler which stops the lights from working. What you can do try improving the ground wire that comes from the main harness of the trailer to the frame and you should see it start working normally.

  • Trailer Lights Flicker After Installing New LED Lights and Rewiring
Sometimes trailer wiring will ground through the hitch ball in addition to the trailer wiring ground since trailer grounds typically run to the trailer frame which then grounds through the ball mount and trailer hitch. This isn't a reliable way to ground trailer lights though since when you hit bumps the coupler of the trailer might lose contact with the hitch ball briefly. I would try running the grounds to a wire and then running that wire back to the ground circuit of the trailer wiring...

  • Troubleshooting LED Trailer Lights Activating Truck's Taillights
That's an odd issue to have that we can't say we've seen specifically but LED taillights do sometimes cause odd issues since they require a fraction of the amperage and voltage to activate. One solution would be to use an adapter like the part # C57003 which puts diodes on the trailer light circuits that would absorb any excess voltage.
