Easy installation of both the left and right LED lights. I also installed LED amber side marker lights as well.

I upgraded to these lights a few years ago and they are great. Amazing visibility. When I blew a tire it destroyed the left rear light as well as licence plate and bracket. etrailer was able to sell me a single light to do the repair......Thanks

I sold the boat and trailer a month later. The light was still working

by:

Trailer lights arrived in perfect shape. I have not replaced the old lights yet since it is winter. The mounting hardware and slots line up so it should be a simple remove and replace. I tested the lights by connecting them to a car battery, they are way brighter than the old incandescent 1157 bulbs. The side marker and license plate lights look good also. I expect these will be maintenance free unless someone runs into the trailer and it sure won't happen because they could not see the stop lights! Thanks etrailer.

by:

I purchased this led light set and am 100% satisfied with the units. They are bright and were easy to install with supplied instructions. Just took the boat out of storage and the lights "work" for a change, fantastic. No more fiddling around with regular bulb type, which were a Royal Pain. Spend more time "fishing" instead of "kicking" your trailer. The greatest invention since "Sliced Bread". Lunch is important guys, but HEY!!!

Nice bright LED light. Cheaply made, all plastic back housing but unless you can find the older (80's/90's) lights, your stuck with "made in Japan"

They are very bright and seem to work well. Had an issue with a few of the LEDs going bad, but etrailer made it very easy to get it replaced in a timely manner. Have been happy with them since.

by:

Very nice. Lights were easy to hook up. Nice and bright to clearly mark the trailer. The specifications were clear and the light mounted nicely in the confined space. I was especially grateful for the video that Etrailers provided so that I could see how the light would look before I bought it.

by:

Bought a new brake controller and updated all the lights to LEDs , all parts are good quality. Would recommend etrailer

Replacement for light unit I damaged. Perfect replacement, easy install and no problems. This is a great unit for my small boat trailer.

  • Replacement LED Tail Lights for 1990 Featherlite Horse Trailer
You will be able to replace the incandescent lights on your trailer with LED without a problem. Like you said, you can just take the old lights out and replace them with new lights. If the Miro-Flex LED Combination Trailer Tail Lights - Submersible # STL28RB & # STL29RB you looked at would be a great choice assuming they are the style and size you want. These are surface mount lights so they will be able to mount in most places without a problem. The dimensions of these lights are 5-1/4"...

  • Does Optronics Trailer Tail Light STL-9RB have an IP67 Rating
A submersible light such as # STL9RB is sealed and waterproof. This light is not given an IP rating but if to get an IP rating of 67 something must meet NEMA code 6 then these lights would do the trick. For a set you can use # STL28RB & # STL29RB

  • Recommended Replacement Tail Light Assemblies for a Yamaha Trailer
If your Yamaha trailer measures over 80 inches, then I recommend the Optronics Waterproof LED Trailer Light Kit, # TLL160RK. This light set is designed for marine trailer applications which means the unit is sealed and waterproof. The units are hard wired to your current trailer's lighting wiring and the units have separate ground wires. For a trailer that is smaller than 80 inches, I recommend the Optronics Micro-Flex LED Trailer Tail Lights, # STL28RB & # STL29RB. These light are square...

  • Replacement Tail Lights on Malone Microsport XL Kayak Trailer
Yes. The tail lights on the Malone Microsport trailers like the # MPG460XT are submersible. You can use the # STL28RB & # STL29RB to replace these lights with another submersible light or go with a completely sealed and waterproof light set with the # TLL9RK. I do recommend going with the # TLL9RK waterproof lights just because of the added protection and durability you get with this application.

The mounting dimensions of the Miro-Flex LED Trailer Tail Light # STL29RB and Miro-Flex LED Trailer Tail Light # STL28RB are exactly the same - they have mounting studs which are 2" apart on center. These are exactly the same lights with the only difference being that Tail Light # STL29RB has a license plate light function because it is the driver's side tail light. All of our Wesbar Tail lights that are incandescent bulbs use a 1157. To get your replacement bulb, you will need to remove the other bulb and read the number on it. • Wiring Installation for Miro-Flex LED 3 Wire Trailer Lights
The Miro-Flex LED Combination Trailer Tail Lights # STL28RB & # STL29RB have a separate white ground wire with ring terminal because the mounting hardware is surrounded by plastic not giving the light a solid ground connection. The ring terminal over the mounting hardware works around this to connect the light to the trailer frame. This ground wire doesn't need to be on the mounting hardware and can be attached directly to the trailer frame with a different screw or bolt if desired. The...

  • Solution for Installing Trailer Wiring Where Wire Colors Are Different and Unknown
So sometimes trailer wiring and taillight wiring end up using wire colors that are different from standard. It's frustrating but the only solution is to first verify what all of the functions of the wires are and then wire accordingly. You can use a vehicle battery to verify the functions of the lights first and then use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to verify wiring by having it connected to a vehicle and then test the wires while all of the taillight functions are applied.

Most aftermarket trailer wiring harnesses are compatible with LED trailer lights but I would need to know the year, make, and model of the vehicle to be sure. • Boat Trailer Tail Lights Stopped Working After Backing Trailer in Water
There is a subtle difference between submersible lights like # ST5RB and completely sealed lights. Submersible lights will let in water but will allow it to drain out. Sealed lights will keep water out and as such are also submersible. Part of the problem is that you really need to disconnect the trailer wiring prior to submerging the trailer in the water since the light is not sealed and the connection splices are not water tight. The brake light/turn signal functions not working could...

  • Can 12 Guage Wire Connect to 20 Gauge Wire With Butt Connectors
When you have to go from a much thinner gauge wire to a thicker gauge wire with a butt connector you want to use the bigger size connector like # DW05745-10 which fits 10 to 12 gauge but the trick to getting the thinner gauge wire to fit well is to strip off 3 times as much insulation than you'd normally need and fold the core of the wire a couple times so that it ends up being thick enough for the butt connector to grab it.
