The items are great. A sturdier box or packaging would definitely help in not loading any items. My two items were inside but does look like the receiver shank came out through opening on side of box

by:

Product is fine. Your packing need A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT!!!
box was busted to hell and back with a 30lbs piece of metal just clanked around in an oversized box with 2 small sheets of packing paper.

by:

No issues at all. Has been a great drop bar for my weight distribution hitch!

by:

After a year of camping, the shank is doing its job!

by:

The quality of the part is good and it works as intended. E-trailer's shipping was very quick. We received the part in 3 days with standard shipping. I was very impressed with the quality of the packaging. This heavy item was secured tightly inside the cardboard box so it couldn't move around and potentially damage the box from the inside while in transit. I wish more online retailers would pay as much attention to packaging product.

Product is performing well

by:

Love the product, wish however that there was another cross hole for the receiver; it protrudes too much and worries me about leverage even with a weight distributing hitch.

Love the product after this past year. Ive seen others state they wish there was another cross hole. That was a concern of mine, however theres not enough room due to a spare on my vehicle, and theres been no problems with the unit and its extension from the vehicle.

by:

Exactly what I needed for my trailer. Fast shipping. Another great experience with trailer!

Still working great!

by:

This worked well with my sway bar installation, although it is limited to fifteen hundred pounds tongue weight and I would have preferred 1700 pounds to match the tongue weight capacity of our truck.

by:

Works great with the Reese trunnion bar hitch. Gave me the height needed to level the trailer.

by:

Good product at a good price. Will be used with a Reese Strait-Line hitch on a 2006 Suburban 2500 pulling an 11,500 lb GVWR travel trailer.

by:

worked well with my 8000lb Toy Hauler. Was able to adjust hitch height to the right level

by:

great have no problem pulling my 32ft travel trailer or my car trailer.

by:

just like it was described.. Came quickly, in perfect condition... Best place toshop on the internet is etrailer.com

by:

I received my order very quickly and part is exactly as described. I have always been very pleased with etrailer.

by:

good quality and appreciate the recessed design -- as it helps to reduce total weight of the hitch assembly.

by:

Item shipped quickly, communication was amazing, and item was exactly what I was looking for. I have ordered all my trailering needs from etrailer for quite sometime now and will continue to do so!!

by:

Completed my hitch setup. Just what I needed. Gets lots of use. Good service as always.

by:

Good job on order the product and fast shipping even on Sunday got it on Tuesday

by:

Puts the WD Hitch at the correct height.

by:

An excellent, heavy duty piece of equipment, my second one!!!

The products are still working hard for me without failure. Great product!!

by:

Nice product, unfortunatley not designed to work with the Round Bar Head we purchased.

by:

It is what I needed, have a 1200lb. on my camp trailer

by:

As advertised, no issues

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Control Recommendation for a Chevy Silverado 2500 and Keystone Cougar
When choosing a weight distribution system you will want to go by the tongue weight of the trailer, loaded and ready to tow, plus the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. You will then choose a system with a tongue weight capacity range that puts that total weight in the middle of the systems range. If the loaded trailer weighed 8,200 pounds and you had nothing behind the rear axle of the truck, the typical tongue weight would be 10 to 15 percent of the gross...

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Control For 2008 Ford Expedition Towing a 25 Foot Enclosed Car Hauler
I would first recommend to check the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) on your 25 foot enclosed car trailer. It should be much higher than the 3,000-lb rating you mentioned. Most 25 foot enclosed car trailers should have at least a 6,000-lb GVWR or higher. Many times adjusting the way that the trailer is loaded can help minimize trailer sway. You will also want to make sure that your trailer is as close to level as possible. When choosing a weight distribution system and sway control...

  • Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control Hitch For 10,000 Pound Camper Trailer
The Reese # RP66074 Strait-Line System is a perfect choice for your large Grand Design Reflection travel trailer. The Reese excels at maintaining towing in a straight line especially when outside forces like passing trucks and wind gusts push on the very large sides of your trailer. The cam system is more rigid when in a straight line and the 1200 pound tongue weight rating gives you that little extra strength you will occasionally need. This unit does not come with a required adjustable...

  • Recommended Strait-Line Weight Distribution System for Surveyor RKS 235 Travel Trailer w/ 500 lb TW
If the 500 lb tongue weight figure you mentioned represents the fully loaded and ready to tow tongue weight of the trailer and includes the weight of anything stowed in the truck bed behind the rear axle, the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution system you mention would be exactly the system I would recommend. This system is designed for trailers with tongue weights ranging from 400-800 lbs, which is perfect for your application if the tongue weight you provided is accurate. The system...

  • Weight Distribution and Sway Control for an Airstream Bambi 16 and 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
First, let me just say that the Airstream Bambi has got to be the cutest name for a travel trailer that I have ever heard. Please send some pictures of it if you can! For weight distribution you will need to go by the total tongue weight. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer when loaded and ready to tow and then adding the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. In your situation, if the trailer tongue weight is 350 pounds and you have...

  • How to Determine Which Weight Distribution System to Eliminate Sway on a 10,020 Pound Toy Hauler

With that said, to choose a properly tuned weight distribution system for your trailer you will need to go by the total effective tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the measured tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. • Weight Distribution and Sway Control Recommendations for a 7,500 Pound Enclosed Trailer
If given the choice between friction sway control and dual-cam sway control, I will always go with dual-cam. Dual-cam is preferred because it stops trailer sway before it starts. Friction sway control works to stop sway after the trailer has already started swaying. Friction sway control will work, but dual-cam is a pro-active system keeps sway from even starting. When choosing a weight distribution system, you will want one that has a tongue weight capacity range that encompasses your...

  • Best Weight Distribution and Sway Control For a 5,940 lb.Travel Trailer on 2006 Ford F150 Super Crew
On the 2006 Ford F150 Super Crew 4X4 with tow package, one of the first things we recommend to do is always check the owners manual or car dealer for the GCVWR (Gross Combined Vehicle Weight Rating). Which is the maximum weight capacity of your truck, trailer, and contents combined. So you want to make sure to never exceed that figure. I looked up your 2018 Jayco Octane SL 272 (nice trailer) and I noticed a couple of things about it that could affect the fit of a weight distribution system such as # RP66074. First I noticed that on the frame behind the propane tanks it looks like there is a metal structure welded to the bottom of the frame. With the weight distribution brackets in place on the frame that extra piece on the trailer frame could make contact with the spring bars. The brackets mount 30 inches back along...

I am sorry to hear that you are having sway issues pulling your 34.5' camper with your 2020 Ford F-150. Since the Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control # C17063 you are using is not ideal for trailers with excessive sway like you are experiencing, adding the Tuson Electronic Sway Control System for Electric Trailer Brakes # 335TSC-1000 would be a great option. The best way to do this is to measure using a tongue weight scale like ther # e99044. Since I do not have that information, we can take a good guess using the trailer weight. From what I have found, your 2019 Keystone Cougar 27 RES has a dry tongue weight of 835 lbs with an unloaded weight of 6,520 lbs and a GVWR of 8,800 lbs. Based on this, your loaded tongue...

With a GVWR of 9,000 lbs we can take a guess since the tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the trailer weight. This would put your tongue weight at 900-1,350 lbs.
