Recommended Weight Distribution Hitch With Sway Control for 2019 Keystone Cougar 27 RES
Question:
Can anyone recommend a top rated sway control and weight distribution hitch for a 2019 Keystone Cougar 27 RES being towed by a 2018 Ford F150 Crew Cab. Not the ProPride, something more affordable . Much appreciated

In order to make the best choice for a weight distribution hitch it is important to know the loaded tongue weight of your setup. The best way to do this is to measure using a tongue weight scale like ther # e99044. Since I do not have that information, we can take a good guess using the trailer weight.
From what I have found, your 2019 Keystone Cougar 27 RES has a dry tongue weight of 835 lbs with an unloaded weight of 6,520 lbs and a GVWR of 8,800 lbs. Based on this, your loaded tongue weight is probably going to be between 1,100 and 1,200 lbs.
For a weight distribution hitch with the best sway control I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - No Shank - Trunnion Bar - 15K GTW, 1,500 lbs TW # RP66130. This system uses dual-cam sway control and will keep you steady and level while towing. It has a tongue weight range of 800-1,500 lbs so you hitch would easily remain effective while loaded and unloaded. This does not come with a shank so you will also require the # RP54970.
I have attached some review videos along with some helpful articles on weight distribution and measuring tongue weight for your reference.
