List of Replacement Parts for # RP66083 Dual Cam Sway Control System

Question:

I purchased a RP66083 last August that has been partially or fully damaged in an accident one trunnion spring bar is bent and the head is broken out where that trunnion bar fits, allowing the trunnion bar to separate from the head unit other unseen damage may have occurred, still investigating. Could you provide my a list of the component part #s for this set up? Thanks

The individual parts that make up the # RP66083 are as follows:

Weight Distribution Head for Trunnion Bars, part # RP58167
800 lb Capacity Trunnion Bar, part # RP22225 (sold individually)
Weight Distribution Shank, part # RP54970
Dual Cam Sway Control, part # RP26002
Chain Kit, part # 3216
Chain Hanger Bracket, part # RP6637

Due to the fact that the weight distribution head unit, the shank and the trunnion heads of the spring bars are cast, I would recommend replacing those regardless of apparent damage. There is no telling how the collision might have negatively affected the structural integrity of those parts, and since the leverage provided by the spring bars puts the system under quite a bit of stress, in the interest of your safety, I would strongly recommend replacing these parts. I would also strongly recommend replacing the trailer ball.

Depending on the severity of the collision, your receiver hitch might have been damaged. If anything appears bent or you see any cracks in the powder coating of your hitch, I would urge you to replace that as well.

I would also recommend closely examining the remaining parts, looking for anything that is bent.

Many times, it is less expensive just to replace the whole system rather than to assemble replacement parts.
