Recommended Sway Control System To Prevent Excessive Sway When Towing 34.5' Camper w/ 2020 Ford F150
Question:
I am having issues pulling my camper. Its 34.5 feet long V nose and weighs 7000 dry 1000 tongue weight dry. Im pulling it with a 2020 f150 the numbers work. I can pull it on 2 lane roads at 55 comfortable but on the interstate its all over the road with anything passing me im curious if a different hitch would solve my problem i have the curt 14000 1400 chain style with 1 Friction Sway bar. Any advice would be appreciated i would rather buy something than trying to trade my truck.

I am sorry to hear that you are having sway issues pulling your 34.5' camper with your 2020 Ford F-150.
Since the Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control # C17063 you are using is not ideal for trailers with excessive sway like you are experiencing, adding the Tuson Electronic Sway Control System for Electric Trailer Brakes # 335TSC-1000 would be a great option.
The advantage of the Tuson # 335TSC-1000 is it detects sway before it occurs and applies the brakes to the trailer independently to prevent sway from occurring. In contrast the friction sway control that the Curt # C17063 uses doesn't start working until sway has occurred, and is best suited for trailers that don't experience much sway to begin with.
The Tuson # 335TSC-1000 will not interfere with your weight distribution system, mechanical sway control, or trailer brake controller, and since it installs on the trailer it will be there fighting sway even if you use a different tow vehicle.
Another option is one you mentioned, which is switching to a different weight distribution system all together. The Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # RP66130 would be a great system for your application as it is rated for total tongue weights between 800lbs-1500lbs, and due to it having one of the best sway control systems on the market. The 4 point sway control is great by itself, but the cam arms the # RP66130 uses applies constant pressure to the spring bars to prevent sway.
This system does not come with a shank or hitch ball, so you will also need # RP54970 and # C40030 for a 2-5/16" hitch ball or # A-90 for a 2" hitch ball.
Between these two options, I recommend the Tuson # 335TSC-1000 due to it allowing you to use the weight distribution system you already have, and since I believe it will do a great job preventing sway allowing you to have piece of mind when driving down the interstate.
I included a video of the Tuson Electronic Sway Control # 335TSC-1000 and Reese # RP66130 for you to take a look at.
