The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached an FAQ on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.

Assuming that your 1,250 lb figure includes the weight of cargo behind the rear axle I would recommend the Strait Line Weight Distribution System part # RP66130. Your tongue weight would work very well with the tongue weight range of this system. This has a range of 800 lbs - 1,500 lbs of tongue weight.

The great thing about this system is that it features the only sway control on the market that actively works to prevent sway before it starts. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.

You also need a shank like # RP54970 and a hitch ball like # C40030 to got with the Strait-Line
