The important factor to consider when choosing a weight distribution system is the tongue weight of your trailer when it is fully loaded and ready to tow. If the fully loaded tongue weight of your trailer will be as much as 750 lbs, then you will want to choose a system that can handle that capacity.

Keep in mind that anything that is loaded behind the rear axle of your 2005 Dodge Ram 3500 will also contribute to the tongue weight.

The Reese Weight Distribution System, # 49570, that you referenced is designed for trailers with a loaded tongue weight between 600 and 1,200 lbs, so this system will work for your trailer. This system does not include the hitch ball, so you will want to pick up the 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, # 19286, as well.

I would recommend a weight distribution system that includes sway control like our Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution System with Sway Control, # RP66074. The dual-cam sway control will reduce trailer sway and provide a more comfortable ride. I have attached installation instructions and an installation video of this system for you to check out.

If you choose the Strait-Line system, then you will also want to pick up the Reese Weight Distribution Shank, # RP54970, and the 2-5/16 inch hitch ball, # 19286.

We also offer the Pro Series Weight Distribution System with Sway Control, # PS49583, which also includes sway control, but is more economically priced. I have also attached the installation instructions of this system for you to check out. The shank and hitch ball are included with this system, but it is recommended to use two friction sway control bars with trailers over 27 ft long. You will want to pick up another Reese Friction Sway Control Kit, # 83660, to use with this system.

All of these weight distribution hitches are designed to fit 2 inch trailer hitches. I have attached an article on weight distribution for you to review.
