Smooth Hookup with Stainless Steel Arms

The Falcon 2 is designed to make hooking up your toad (towed vehicle) a smooth and easy process. The telescoping arms are able to extend to the needed length and angle to reach the base plate without the need for your vehicle to be perfectly level or in the exact right spot behind your RV. The inner arms are stainless steel and will slide in and out smoothly. Supremely corrosion resistant, they'll stay rust-free and functional for the life of the tow bar.

What is Autowlok?

Once you're all hooked up, slowly pull forward and the mechanism in the arms will automatically lock into towing position when the arms are fully extended (hence the name Autowlok!). Double check that the arms are properly latched and you'll be ready to hit the road!

what is Auto lock

Then, when you've reached your destination and you're ready to unhook your vehicle, press the Autowlok release button on the arm of the Falcon to disengage the internal spring-loaded pin. With the pins on both arms released, the arms will be able to telescope again, making it easier to disconnect.

However, if you're on uneven terrain, or if your toad is not perfectly lined up behind your RV, chances are you'll experience some binding. This is the result of tension that can build up in the telescoping arms, and it can make it difficult to press the button all the way down and disconnect your vehicle. If this happens, a release tool (RM-066 - sold separately) will give you the leverage you need to force the button down.

Extra-Long Arms Get You Around Tight Turns

The Falcon's arms are longer than average, giving you an above-average turning radius. You're going to be able to get around obstacles and make sharp turns with no worry of clipping the corner of your RV. Maneuver through gas stations and the campsite no problem.

Engineered for Excellence

FEA test

The Falcon 2 is engineered to be as tough and durable as possible. Throughout the design process, rigorous physical and computerized testing is done, including Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA). Each of these tests displays a 3-dimensional image of the tow bar while it is put under thousands of pounds of pressure. Areas of stress in the tow bar can then be located and studied so that those areas can be strengthened. This process is repeated until any weak spots, particularly those found in load-bearing components, are completely removed. The result is a product that is durable, strong, and safe.

Simple Storage: RV-Mounted Tow Bar

Storing the Falcon 2

The Falcon 2 folds up to conveniently store on the back of your RV when you're not using it. After disconnecting the tow bar from your toad, push the arms of the tow bar together so that they are side by side. Push the tow bar up until the holding latch clicks into place. The arms can then fold to the right or to the left, whichever side you want to store it on.

For added protection from the elements, slip the Roadmaster tow bar cover (RM-055-3 - sold separately) over the Falcon 2 when you're not using it.

What You Need to Flat Tow

Flat towing can be a much more convenient way to take your car RVing with you than using a trailer or a tow dolly. It'll save you storage space both at home and at the campsite, and it takes less time and hassle to hook up.

To flat tow your vehicle, there are 5 basic components you're going to need: a tow bar, a base plate kit, a safety cable set, tow bar wiring, and a flat tow braking system.

For the RV Between the RV and Towed Car For the Towed Car
Hitch Tow bar Base plate
Wiring plug Safety cables Braking system
Wiring adapter cord Wiring kit/diodes

The custom-fit base plate installs on the frame of your toad so you can connect the car to your RV with a tow bar. Hook up safety cables between the vehicles to ensure that the toad does not separate from the motorhome if the tow bar becomes detached. Tow bar wiring syncs your vehicle's signal lights with your motorhome's tail lights, as required by law in most states. Finally, the flat tow braking system - also required in most states - activates the brakes in the toad when you hit the brakes in the RV, making for smoother, safer braking, and preventing wear on your motorhome.

The install on my Ford Maverick is clean and functional, so this is more of a customer service review... excellent customer service!

During the 4-day towing set-up install, the forecast was for freezing temps and my rig was not winterized. I called in mid panic and the motorhome was moved indoors.

A few months after using the tow set-up, a minor problem developed. I called and the CSR apologized and said, I can see how that might be frustrating, and a replacement cable (slightly longer) was sent free of charge.

In February 2016 I bought a used Class A Motorhome with came with a Roadmaster Falcon Tow Bar. After a couple of trips around the country in my motorhome, I quickly realized why the majority of motorhomes I saw had a vehicle in tow. I searched for a decent tow vehicle and in June purchased a 2003 Chevy Tracker. I didn't know anything about Raodmaster or the quality of their products so I started reading reviews from satisfied owners and quickly realized I had a very good tow bar so I researched what I needed to hook it up on my Tracker.

I got acquainted with eTrailer when I purchased the Base Plates to attach my Raodmaster Falcon tow bar to my Tracker. Derek at eTrailer was very helpful and took the time ensuring that I had the right parts to use with my used tow bar. The customer service I received was outstanding. I actually received my base plates the next day with free shipping! The installation instructions were clear and concise and I installed the base plates in about 1 hour and was ready to go. I took several trips (about 4,000 miles) with my Tracker in tow behind me and never had any issues.

My Falcon Tow Bar I got with my RV is at least 10 years old and I considered buying a new one but I didn't want or need to spend the extra money since there really wasn't anything wrong with it. Then my last trip of the year (end of November) I was about 75 miles away from home running 75 mph (in traffic), when my Tracker (in tow behind me) was rear-ended on the highway. This accident could have been catastrophic but it wasn't. My old Falcon Tow Bar absorbed the majority of the impact! Needless to say, the tow bar was destroyed but the RV and Tracker never let go of each other.

After settling up with the insurance company and fixing my Tracker, when it came time to buy a new tow bar, the Roadmaster Falcon II and eTrailer was a no-brainer. In my opinion, the quality of the Roadmaster product saved lives last November!

The EZ4 base plates installed as per instructions. Taking my time so as to not miss anything the procedure took just over 3 hours to install by myself. I haven't had a chance to use the roadmaster falcon 2 tow bar but I'm sure all will be good when I do. My motorhome is having a couple of repairs done so as soon as I can I will test the falcon 2 . This is the second time I have purchased from etrailer and I have nothing but good things to say. Thanks to all involved.

Overall very happy with this product. It fits snug in my receiver without alot of play. It did come with a cross bar, which surprised me since none of the pictures showed it. Initially i was concerned this wouldn't work with work with direct connect base plate, the directions weren't real clear. After a bunch of research it will indeed work with the direct connect base plate.
I've yet to tow since I am still installing the base plate. Will update at a later date

Still happy with this tow bar, hasnt let me down after 10K miles. This is NOT a non binding towbar. and can be difficult to disconnect if not on a flat surface. Its not a defect, its the design of the tow bar. I suggest buying the unlock tool to assist with unlocking if your in this situation

You are correct James, this tow bar is not a non-binding tow bar like you said. Part # RM-066 is super helpful for disconnecting the towed vehicle from the motor home. If you decide in the future you want an upgrade, I suggest the Roadmaster Falcon All terrain part # RM-522. The Falcon has a quick release latch that makes disconnecting so much easier.

Great product. Easy to use. Fairly light. I don’t think you can ask for anything more in this price range. We tow our Jeep JT Gladiator with the falcon 2.

by:

This is a direct replacement for a Falcon 2 I have used for 3 RVs over 15 years. It has a great track record with me so I decided not to change.

by:

Hooks right to my Roadmaster e5 adapter plate on my Wrangler unlimited. Works great and keeps the Jeep attached and tracking straight. Easy to stow when not in use.

by:

Dealing with eTrailer to purchase and install my own base plate made me feel like I had a team of experts at my disposal. The installation is not easy and not for everyone, but with the help of chat sessions and videos, I believe that most people with some good working knowledge of tools can get it done.

by:

Very heavy duty. Much more than needed for my application but more is better than not enough.
Heavy duty also means heavy in weight. Difficult to maneuver and carry.

by:

This kit worked out great for my 2022 Chevy Equinox. I like how it has separate side plates, which make it easier to attach the main bar. The points where it attaches to the frame seem plenty secure. It is important to watch the videos provided by etrailer as Ryan is very thorough and has good tips for installing. I would also recommend installing additional wiring while having the front end off. Overall, I was able to complete in my driveway. The hardest part was sorting out the wiring for whatever braking and tail lights you decide on. William S helped me pick all the necessary components needed for flat towing behind my Jayco RV. I am looking forward to a summer of camping and having more freedom to explore the area, now having a car.

by:

Excellent experience. Delivery was as promised and the Roadmaster Tow Bar works great.

The Roadmaster Tow Bar is rugged and makes it easy to connect our motorhome and car.

by:

Installed on a 2019 Forest River Sunseeker 3010ds class c towing a 2011 Mini Cooper S hatchback.
Simple and easy. Very robust! I do use a rubber mallet to unlock the bars if they are bound up.
Thanks etrailer!

by:

I received my tow bar today, but it did now come with the cross bar and mounting equipment showed in the video. The person I messaged with said that they changed the contents about a year ago and that she would take down the video.

by:

Exactly as expected. Arrived on time and installed to replace the one we’ve had for 15 years.

by:

Very fast shipping. Great packaging. No damage during shipment. Great product. Works as expected.

@Robin We're happy to hear that your tow bar is working well for you!

by:

The new towbar is doing a good job. I find it a little stiff though as I
move the arms down.

by:

I bought all the equipment to hook up my 2018 Ford Focus to my motorhome and had the equipment installed by the folks Ford recommended as they do all there warranty work. It all work great and several people that seen me asked where I got the equipment. and I told them etrailer. I had one small problem with a ground and etrailer help me out and got me back on the road. The best thing I like about the roadmaster 2 set up as it is so easy to connect and disconnect. several others said they could not believe how fast it was to connect and disconnect.

by:

Haven’t used it yet, but plan to pull a Jeep gladiator behind my motorhome

by:

Has been great! Very durable. Used on many short trips and two trips over 4000 miles with no problems.

by:

I purchased this to flat two my 2016 Wrangler Unlimited. It was very easy to install, quick to setup when you want to use it and folds way easily when you are not using it.

by:

Full time towing my honda fit behind a box truck for over a year. Never a problem. Perfect.

Towed from California to anchorage alaska. Key west Florida, Vermont. Never a single issue. Amazing. No bad wheel bearing yet either or problems with tow car

by:

Great hitch. Easy setup and matched with base plates extremely well. Location of Roadmaster base plates lowered the attach point from other brands by over 8" which allowed me to buy a much smaller Rise/Drop hitch receiver.

by:

The tow bar is all in tact but don’t understand why I received a display item, instead a new one off the shelf, this one came in in a large box , wrapped in packing paper, nothing else, although all part to connect were in there just loose, and not packaged

by:

I didn't want to give "It looks like a good item" type of review. I have put 5k miles on this tow bar system and it has honestly been the best investment so far. It is simple to attach your vehicle to ( usually less than 3 minutes to have it attached and chains hooked up) and unhook is even easy by yourself. I would 100% recommend this product and etrailer.com for the customer service they bring to you.
Thank you for everything.

Terry

Update... Have 23k miles now. Just spray some WD40 every now and again to keep things loose and your good to go

by:

Like the base plates, the tow bar was ordered on Friday and arrived the following Wednesday as promised. Tow bar is exactly what I need for my 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. It came well packaged so that there were no scratches or flaws. It works great.
