Roadmaster is the best product made in the USA. Also etrailer is the best place to purchase all the needed parts.

by:

Fast shipping and good instructions for the tow car wiring. Everything included seems to be real good quality.

by:

Works great but it took some time & effort to install. Hooking up to RV is easy and has been good - except when I forget to replace the wire harness cover for the car.

by:

A good complete kit to finish installment of the tow bars. A few non-essential items probably driving up the price unnecessarily (i.e. the padlocks) but it was worth not having to order all the other items piece by piece. Had to add larger chain links to get the emergency cable connected to the Ranger draw bar assembly but that was true of my previous Super Duty also when towing a travel trailer with it. So must be a Ford issue.

by:

After one year and 10k miles of towing, I'm still satisfied with this accessory kit. The only issue I've had with it is my own fault: our MINI Cooper is low to the ground so had to use an adapter to lower the receiver on the motorhome. I dragged the tow bar on a couple of steep inclines and caused a small tear in the tow bar cover. Fixed it with duct tape and we're still using it. I've learned to remove the tow bar (if I can) before negotiating steep driveways.

by:

Very thorough instructions and woks great !!!

by:

Worked as it should

by:

Works as advertised. Install took a couple days on a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee but etrailer [online] videos provided all the necessary information. Mostly completed solo but extra hands were needed to remove and replace the front fascia. Ran the air brake hose through an existing hole in the firewall down under the glove box. Make sure to have good drill bits on hand - putting holes in the frame isn't easy. About 10k miles on the tow kit so far with little trouble.

One issue is the binding. Often the pins will bind and be difficult to remove after a long day towing. Twisting them out sometimes works. Probably not recommended but I occasionally get in the Jeep, put the transfer case back in gear, and give it a nudge forward or back.

Also, I made a bad mounting decision for the brake connection. The spot I chose on the frame was a little to close to a support in the fascia so had to dig out some extra plastic. Recommend identifying and marking the mounting spots before removing the fascia. I think I moved mine too far to one side to avoid the Jeep's large front-mounted sensor which the install instructions warn about damaging. This was unnecessary as there's plenty of room.

by:

Fast service, good advice on what I needed. The tow bar and accessories box were well boxed.

by:

Been full time for a year now. Has performed great. Only minor issue has been one of the emergency clips breaking. Cheap and easy replacement though

by:

What sold me before buying the EZ5 base plate and SMI supplemental braking system were the on line, step by step, video instructions. With little background experience I was confident that I could install these parts on my own on our 2016 Ford Focus. Also purchased the Falcon 2 tow bar and a wiring kit. Everything exceeded my expectations !!

by:

Very well pleased with all of my purchase I watch the videos on all of my purchases I read the instructions thoroughly before I started and within eight hours I had my GMC Canyon hook to my RV when I got to my supplemental brake system I was not sure where to hook up vacuum line I'll call the one 800 number in my instructions on a Saturday and they walk me right to the step with no problem taking the facial off my truck to put the hidden brackets on was not very hard after watching the video and reading the instructions I saved a lot of money thanks to a etrailer corporation

by:

The Falcon All Terrain Combo Towing Kit was a great deal and saved a lot of time trying to piece meal all the items for a safe tow. The Roadmaster QD Tow Bar base assy makes hook up a breeze.

by:

Bought a RoadMaster towing system for our Jeep Wrangler. The quality and instructions were impressive. Etrailer appears to be a first rate company and the person that I ordered from was very knowledgeable about the products.

by:

Easy and simple to get the "Right Parts" for your vehicle, in this case for our TOAD. From contact to delivery it was seamless, and parts were delivered ahead of schedule, pricing was great. Never doubt the products from etrailer.

Superb, the quality is still visible, ease of use, safety and convenience, it takes 10 minutes to hook up do safety checks and roll out. etrailer provided great recommendations

by:

Roadmaster Combo Kit. Exactly what I needed and the installation of the wiring portion was done with no problems and works as designed.

by:

Extremely Happy

by:

Works well and has held up well for the first year. It is very overpriced for what you get but it does have the towing accessories that you need that should have come in the tow bar to begin with, right

by:

excellent products that i had purchased from etrailer. i like the ease of operating the tow products and especially the great job that etrailer did in installing the tow products from the motorhome and to the tow vehicle . etrailer was very professional in everything that they did.

by:

Lack of directions, wrong power cord with type tow bar

by:

Not the best, most complete, instructions but everything works.

by:

Works exactly as expected. Really like having the cover—I can leave the hitch on the RV when not towing. Keeps it clean and tidy looking.

by:

Huge improvement from the dolly system for towing the car behind the RV. Excellent product!

by:

Everything you need o operate safe.

by:

Everything I ordered was exceptional. I have used a different brand for years but this is so much better. Thanks

  • Installation Of Safety Cables and Excess Slack
The Safety Cables contained within the RoadMaster Falcon 2 and Falcon All-Terrain Combo Towing Kit, # RM-9243-1, are okay to install the way you have. While most folks wrap the excess around the legs of the the tow bar, there is no reason that you can not do so around the shank as well. The point to remember is that you leave enough slack at the end so as to not cause a binding situation, plenty of free movement. And that you do not create a pinch point situation that will damage the cables.

  • How to Tow a 2016 Ford Edge EcoSport Behind a Motorhome
I do have an option for you but as you mentioned, the 2016 Ford Edge EcoSport with the 2.0L I4 engine can't be flat-towed with four wheels down. This has to do with the automatic (6F35) transmission that is mated to the engine rather than the engine itself. This transmission will not be able to receive proper lubrication while the vehicle is towed with all four wheels down which is why it is not recommended. Therefore, you have two options to tow your Edge behind a motorhome and they will...

  • Does Roadmaster Falcon/Blackhawk Wiring Kit # RM-9243-2 Come with Battery Charge Line
The Roadmaster Falcon/Blackhawk 2 All Terrain Towing Combo Kit with Coiled Wiring # RM-9243-1 that you referenced does not include a battery charge kit. An easy way to accomplish this though would be to take a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 and run it from the 12 volt pin of the 6-way socket of this kit that installs on the vehicle to the positive post of the battery. As long as the 7-way on your tow vehicle has this circuit active this will work well.
