Should Tow Bar Arms Remain Symmetrical Behind RV When Towing Toad in Straight Line

Question:

when I connect my tow vehicle 2004 mini to my class c rv the car does not track directly behind the rv due to unequal length arms on the tow bar...is this normal?

We do not carry the Duncan TowMatic II tow bar but in general if a tow bar's two arms are not symmetrical, meaning extended to the same length when you're pulling your toad behind the RV in a straight line, then there is likely to be an issue inside the one telescoping arm. Tow bars do require periodic maintenance and lubrication. Road grit and moisture can work their way into the arm mechanism and cause binding, such as what you're experiencing with the arm that does not fully extend.

Based on my research the TowMatic II is rated for 5000-lbs, which is plenty for a Mini. So odds are that your tow bar requires maintenance.
