Troubleshooting A Honda Fit Odometer That Is Tracking Miles While Flat Towing

Question:

Towing a honda fit Is there anything we can do to not have the towing car register miles? I believe when we first started towing it didnt register miles. Now it is.

Flat towing a vehicle with a mechanical odometer would in fact put miles on your car's odometer in proportion to the distance driven by the towing vehicle so if you have an older vehicle with a mechanical odometer, flat towing will put miles on your odometer.

The key needs to be left in the ignition in the ACC position of your Honda fit but in this position will not record miles. Since you stated it only recently started you'll want to check to make sure you're not in the "ON" position which would allow power to your digital odometer.
