Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the 23 Amp Mini Fuse Kit for your Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger. This fuse kit is going to be very simple to get installed. You'll just connect one of the cable crimp lugs onto each end of your wire. You'll take your fuse, put it in place there, and then connect your two ends of your wires in place, and then tighten down the lock nuts so that they will properly engage.

And then you can easily close this, once those are tightened down properly. You'll close that up, seal it away so that you don't have any problems. That will provide that 23 amp current overload protection so that you don't have to worry about short circuits or over overloading your circuits or anything along those lines. This is designed to be used with the Redarc BCDC 12 amp battery charger, as stated before. This will mount securely in place. You can see it does have the pre-molded mounting locations there.

The hardware to get this mounted isn't included, but you should be able to just use a couple of screws, something like that. This is the 23 amp kit. There's also a 30, a 40 amp, a 60 amp, and a 100 amp kit available here at etrailer.com. Depending on your needs, if you need anything more than a 23 amp fuse kit, we do also have those other options available as well. This is going to be right about two and three quarters of an inch in total length. If we have it sealed up, it's only going to take up about, I'd call it somewhere around an inch and seven-eighths, or sorry, inch and a half, maybe inch in three-fifths, but not very much room at all.

It will provide that protection from short circuits and overloads while being very easy to mount in place, put together, and it won't take up much room for you. They do include some instructions, very detailed instructions on how to get it all put together, where to put it in line with your system. Those are included for you to make sure that everything is going to go together smoothly and do the job that you need it to do.That's going to complete our look for today. And again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

  • Will The Furrion 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter Help Charge The Trailer Battery
Newer GM trucks like your 2022 Chevy Silverado have PWM wiring, which is essentially sending a pulse of voltage through the line instead of constant power. The 7-Way Vehicle Power Adapter for Furrion RV Observation Camera # FR87PR just has a jumper wire from the 12v accessory pin to the running light circuit for a constant 12v feed. This was designed because cameras systems weren't able to function with pulsing voltage. For this to charge the trailer battery you would need a line running...

  • Can A Winch Battery And Trailer Breakaway Battery Both Be Charged Through 7-Way 12v Hot Lead
You would be able to charge both the trailer battery as well as the breakaway battery through your 7-way connection to the tow vehicle. This is very standard practice with most people just running a line from each battery to the 12v accessory terminal in the junction box # 3375601101. A 7-way on a vehicle is typically rated for 40amps DC so you won't be getting much going to the batteries once everything is divided up to power any other accessories tied into the circuit so this would be...

  • Is The Charge From The Tow Vehicle Alternator Something To Worry About With Lithium Batteries
The 12v accessory pin from the 7-way would need to be connected to the battery in order to charge it so you'd first need to make sure it was actually wired that way since not every manufacturer does. That being said the trickle charge coming from the 7-way wouldn't be anything to worry about since it wouldn't send a high enough voltage to fully charge a lithium battery. If you were wanting to make sure that the trailer battery was being charged while on the road then you could use a DC...

For a simple DC to DC battery charger for your new lithium battery I recommend the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # RED96FR. This charger is compatible with AGM, gel, standard lead acid, calcium, and Lithium ion (LiFePO4) batteries and recommended for batteries rated for less than 75 amp-hours. You will need a 23-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle 12-Amp BCDC Battery Charger # RED76FR inline between the Ram battery and charger and the 30-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit for Redarc In-Vehicle...

  • Recommended Equipment To Charge A Travel Trailer Battery
To properly charge your trailer battery while driving you would need a DC to DC charger like the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # RED96FR. This will charge the trailer's battery off of the alternator so that you're only charging the trailer battery when the vehicle is running so that you don't accidentally drain the tow vehicle's battery and get trapped at the campsite. You'll also need a fuse # RED76FR in order to complete this installation. Solar can just be ran directly to...

  • Recommendations for Charging Small Trailer Battery with DC and AC power
I have two components that will work together to do what you're hoping, but there isn't an all in one option that pulls power from your truck and also plugs into shore power. For the DC I recommend the BC-DC Charger # RED96FR which is good for a battery less than 75 amp hours like it sounds yours is. This will tie into the 12v power from your truck and keep your battery completely charged while not overcharging. You'll also need two # RED76FR and some wire you'll need to pick up locally...

It works with 12 and 24 volt systems and can be used with multiple types of batteries. Keep in mind the charge comes from the towing vehicle battery through the 7 pole plug.
