Hi, everyone. Today, we are looking at our seven way adapter for our Go Power portable power system here at etrailer. Some reasons you might be interested in this adapter is because you already had the Go Power portable system. And that has a bunch of different plugs. But if your trailer might be one of the older ones and doesn't have the universal solar plug and you're not really interested in connecting straight to your battery, this is a great adapter to have. Most trailers are gonna have that seven way connector.
And with this, you don't have to worry about finding the battery terminal. So just plug it in. And that gives you access to your solar panels. The adapter has a nice, strong and durable cable. You have this insulated.
And your cable is a size 10 AWG. You also have a dust cap at the end. That way, if you have it in storage you don't have to worry about dust or dirt getting into your plugs. Here on the cable is printed the information about it. So you can see here what voltage it carries as well as the size of the cable.
And this is useful because your Go Power portable system has a maximum of 300 Watts that it can carry. So you can see here how it is capable of that. When using this, I recommend plugging the adapter first into your trailer before going towards your solar panel. I found that was the most safe way to use the entire system. Also make sure to follow the guidelines in the manual as to how to use it as well as how much power to run through it.
This uses an Anderson style cable. So you can also pick up the extension cable if you want a little extra length from your camper to your solar panels. And now that we've taken a look at the adapter itself let's take a look at how to install it. What you first need to do is to find your seven way plug. So here we have a seven way plug. It's usually right up here in front of your trailer. So you're going to get that plug and then you are gonna connect it into your adapter. The other end of your adapter is gonna have this Anderson style plug with this dust cap. So take off that dust cap and then plug it either into the extension cable or directly into your solar controller. Your solar controller then connects to your solar panel just like that. Dust caps protect both ends when not in use.This will allow me to easily use my solar panels to recharge my camper batteries via my onboard Redarc DC/DC charge controller, which I originally installed to charge my camper batteries while driving using the 7 pin trailer harness.
This makes plugging my Go Power 120 watt portable solar panel easy. It is basically plug-in to the trail 7 pin cable and forget. I didn’t have to figure out the polarity of the 2 pin SAE solar port on the trailer. Now, if they would make an adaptor for Go Power panel to Ecoflow solar plug.

I am very pleased with the Go Power solar kit. Excellent quality and stable when set up. I purchased the 7 pin trailer adapter and have used this exclusively to connect the solar panel. The battery compartment on my Casita trailer is really tight and this adapter makes a very easy hookup to the 7 pin trailer plug .. did not find this feature with other brands.
This would be a great item to be able to use and will make connections much easier however my trailer wiring use disconnected by previous owner. I do have plans to reconnect the hot lead so I can charge while diving and using my panels. Currently I have to connect by opening the battery box and using the clamps that are provided with the panel which is a pain. I really want to fix this issue but never remember until I’m hooking up to travel. Urge!
