Overall very good quality and construction. For my situation the cross bar needed to be about a foot longer. Had used it dozens of times. No issues. Store my kayaks all season on the trailer and cross bars. Possibly a small piece of tubing turned upwards. To stabilize the kayak in place on the cross bar outside edge.

Painted blue, and a pvc coated wire basket for gear storage with a bungee net cover. Stores my 16 ft. Xcat with sailing and rowing package plus my Blackfin SUP on top.

Just purchased the Second Tier option for my Malone Microsport. Happy to say that all part were present and accounted for, then again I have never had this problem with Malone. So going into this project I knew that I was going to make some modifications to the second tier. I prefer to carry my sea kayaks on their sides where they are strongest and will not oil can. In order for me to do this I needed to drop the second tier height down 6 inches and that is exactly what I did. Square stock was easy to cut an drill. This also results in a lower center of gravity which I prefer. I also customized a set of Inno stackers to run along the spline of the second tier for anchoring and added adjustable Inno pads to the end of the bars. Pads are rubberized meaning that your boats stay put during transit. Supplied Malone strap tie downs were relocated to the underside of the bars to service the lower tier. My only concern is flex in the second tie bars. Kayaks on the second tier weigh total of 100 pounds. I am going to be interested to see if the deform over use. If so I will retrofit new ones with a beefier wall thickness. Cheers!

We like the second tier really well. Because our trailer was a year older than it was made for, we had to have a welding fabricator install it for us, making some cuts and drilling some holes. He also spot welded in a few places.
