by:

Product was as expected.

Plug is great it comes w/o the wire releaf support at the tail end of plug.

by:

Packing, shipping&Item PERFECT!!! etrailer your the bomb !!!

I searched locally for a 7-pin trailer plug without finding any round-pin styles only flat blade. I searched online and found this plug.
This plug is very well made, easy to connect wires to and fits the socket on my Kubota tractor.
Also, it was in stock and shipped much faster than I expected, which I greatly appreciated.

I am very pleased with the product. It is working great on my Kubota tractor.

by:

the connector is "as advertised" (which is refreshing) it needs some sort of protective cover of the wires as they enter the plug, but maybe it is available and i didn't see to order it. I would buy it again.

by:

If you have any agricultural equipment, this is the easiest way to adapt the normal automotive style connectors to your vehicles and equipment. Great product, and as usual, ETrailer.com has the best price and least expensive way of shipping it to you.

Still great,

by:

The way the connector comes apart & goes back together is very sensible. The terminal connections can accommodate large wires - up to 12 gauge on all except for 1 that can go up to 10 gauge as far as I can remember. They could possibly handle larger but I didn't check since I didn't need the wires that large. They're labeled for standard 7-way trailer wire colors, which is useful for most people but I couldn't go by it. Mine was a custom application. If a spring strain relief came with it that would be awesome but I wouldn't expect it for the price I paid. Hope that info helps.

by:

The plugs did what they were supposed to do, and the customer service was excellent.

by:

I have a 1993 ford e150 with a factory I installed trailer connector round pin. I couldn't find a 7 to 4 match anywhere. Then I saw this pk11700 adapter and it worked great. Plus I have extra connectors now to add other lights. Great product thx

by:

I got exactly what I expected. Great customer service & follow through.

This is a quality connector that was used to support electrical connections between my RV and toad. Its held up beautifully & I continue to be very pleased with it.

by:

The cable end plug arrived on the exact estimated date I was given on the day of ordering. Wiring it is very simple. There is a screw for each terminal opening. Use a small phillips screwdriver to thread the screw out, insert the wire, and then tighten the screw.
A retention clamp is an integral part of the plug. Again it is a simple matter of turning a screw to open it and tighten it back down again. The plug is well made and should last a long time. It is exactly the replacement part I was looking for.
I will come back to etrailer.com when I need related items. I highly recommend.

by:

Just reviewed the truck receiver half of this product - same deal. Nice heavy parts - little plastic. Nice big round brass contact pins; due to the fact that these parts are cast, there is little chance of water/dirt/condensation working into the wire contacts. Locks in tight with the receiver. All in all, a good purchase.

by:

Haven't wired up the connector yet. Would have been nice if the standard wiring diagram used through out the USA would have been included. Then the trailer would be wired correctly to any vehicle that was using it. Mine didn't have the trailer brake or back up lite shown.

by:

It came exactly as described, and in a timely manner.

I bought it to use on my tractor, but decided to wire accessories different. I may use the plug at a later date.

by:

i did not realize there are TWO different sizes of 7 pin round connectors ?? apparently i have the smaller one and the one i got was way to BIG .....

by:

It is very refreshing in this age of Internet shopping to find a site that provides good product information, competitive pricing and great customer before and after the purchase. Product was exactly what the product info on the site stated. Appreciate the good service and will definitely use etrailer.com for future needs.

Thanks.

For me, and probably you, etrailer.com is a great place to shop/buy quality products. They give great follow up after ordering and fast shipping @ a fair price. I believe their service & pricing is unbeatable. I do shop for bargains & etrailer is @ the top of my list.

I have used this connector on an equipment trailer for the last year with no issues. It has worked flawlessly. It was a good decision to go with this item.

by:

Worked perfectly to replace an electrical plug one of our drivers ripped off by accident. Was able to save the whole harness for $10 with this!

by:

Plug appears to be of very good quality and is as represented. We are using this plug to make an adapter harness to plug our RV into a semi tractor.

by:

Product arrived timely and in excellent condition. It came with SAE J560 instructions that were helpful. Wiring the connector was easy.

by:

Solid product. Can't wait to get it installed. Going to use it as a auxiliary power device for my tractor hardtop. Lights and wiper hookups.

  • Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit on Tractor Trailer
Finding the problem will be a process of elimination. For starters, you'll want to determine if the problem is in the wiring for the tractor or the trailer. Use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 and test the running light pin on the connector on the tractor while the headlights are switched on. If you do not get signal on that pin, the problem's on the tractor somewhere. A bad fuse, broken or corroded trailer connector, loose connection or a shorted wire are among the possible problems...

  • Trailer Brakes Activating With Brake Pedal Is Pressed With No Brake Controller Installed
If you're getting voltage to the trailer brakes with no controller installed, and when it WAS connected it wasn't reading the brakes, it sounds like your trailer connector on the vehicle is either damaged or has had corrosion spread to the terminals inside where the wires attach. Once the terminals corrode, the corrosion builds up can can actually allow adjacent circuits to bridge which would explain why you get brakes without a controller installed. It's possible that the brake lamp circuit...

  • Brakes Lock Up On Trailer When Plugged Into 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500
I am almost certain that the issue is that the connector on your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 and the one on the trailer are pinned out differently. I have included a picture that shows how a vehicle and trailer side 7-Way are wired (ignore the colors and go by function). It sounds like the brake output pin on the trailer is matched up with the 12 volt pin on the truck. As soon as you plug in the trailer the brakes will be getting 12 volts so they lock up. We have an adapter to go from a 7-Way round pin on a tow vehicle to a 7-Way blade style on a trailer. You could use the # HM47425. This would work well for you if your tractor has trailer wiring setup for combined turn signals where the blinkers and stoplights are on the same circuit. If they are separate then you would need to install a second 7-way blade as that would be the easiest way. For that you would need a 7-way like part # 37185 and a signal converter like part # RM-732.

  • Why Would Trailer Brake Controller Circuit Always have Pulsing Signal On Circuit
The pulsing you are seeing on the brake controller output circuit is normal. That is the controller testing the circuit to see if it detects the load of trailer brake magnets. If it detects the magnets it will show that the controller is connected. If it doesn't sense anything the controller shows that it is not connected to a controller. The problem has to be on the car hauler trailer. First thing to check is for corrosion on the trailer connector as that typically is what prevents brakes...

  • Is it Normal to Only See 9 Volts on the Output Circuit of a Brake Controller
Brake controllers allow you to vary the voltage applied to the trailer brakes to allow for different braking power. If the controller is set to it's max output voltage it should be right at 12 volts. Be sure to have the vehicle running too so that you don't see any voltage drop off just from the alternator. If the controller has it's gain turned all the way up and it's only at 9 volts then that would indicate you have an internal problem and the controller would need to be replaced. I...

  • Recommended Female Semi-Trailer Connector
Sounds like you are looking for the trailer end plug for your tester that will fit into semi-trailers. Most commercial trailers will use a 7-way heavy-duty pin setup like # PK11720. The female matching connector for this is the # PK11700 you were looking at. To wire this up to your tester I recommend a length of jacketed 7-wire # DW04914-1, this is sold per foot. • Should Blue Wire on Trailer Have Power
The blue wire on a trailer is typically the output wire to the electric brake assemblies. If this is the case on your trailer then the wire should only have power when you are hooked up to the tow vehicle and are applying the brakes, either by pushing on the brake pedal or by using the manual override lever on the brake controller. Since trailer wiring colors aren't always consistent I do recommend verifying that this is the function of your blue wire. You can simply follow the wire along...

ICC stands for Interstate Commerce Commission. An ICC light is on a switch, though it could also be wired into another circuit such as the running lights. It is basically so that when you flip the switch the marker lights will flash. Typically this was only found on commercial applications (the trucking industry). The ICC was abolished in the mid 1990s. You can look up current regulations as specified for trailers by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard or FMVSS 108 for the US and...

  • Troubleshooting Using 7-Way to 5-Way Adapter that Locks Up Brakes
A lot of times we see a similar issue with 6-way connectors or 6-way adapters. The issue with them is that there are two different ways a trailer 6-way will get wired and the difference is that the 12 volt and brake signal get swapped. So what this means is that either your adapter is wired strangely or your trailer wiring is. Most likely it's the trailer as adapter manufacturers typically aren't as prone to wiring issues as people are when they wire up trailers. You're going to want to...

The adapter you mentioned, part # HM47425, does not convert any taillight signals. Basically it is designed to just change the connector style from flat blade to round pin. Since nearly all 7-way blade connectors have combined light circuits this would be used to just switch the connector style and keep the circuits combined.
