Westlake Radials

This radial ply tire from Westlake is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester cords for increased durability. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation.

Westlake Standard Tread Close-Up

The standard tread on this tire has solid, continuous ribs, and there are very few sipes (or thin grooves) cut into the rubber. This tire is designed for use on trailers, so it doesn't require the level of traction that would be needed on a vehicle that is braking or steering.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

I appreciate the quick delivery. The tires I purchased appear to be new, and all produced within one week of one another. They are the same model I currently have on my Imagine travel trailer, and I expect they'll perform well for my next long RVing adventure.

Lookin good! You should also send us some pictures when you get them installed. We love to see how the product works for you. Especially, for long RV adventures!

I needed a matching spare tire/wheel for our new boat. Looked at etrailer, found EXACTLY what we needed at a price less than others.
Blown away by the professional service! Videos of each of my products?? Who does that?? etrailer did and sent me exactly what was shown and what I wanted.
Came shipped in sturdy boxes with no chance of damaged items in shipping. Arrived BEFORE promised date.
Again, Who takes the time and pride to go well above an average purchase? Then follows up with me twice to ensure we are happy with them and the items?
I know where to get my next needs and to get my family and friends to do the same.
Well done etrailer!!

It is very common for our tires to be around a year to 24 months old when they go out the door. The tires are kept in a climate-controlled warehouse before they are shipped to us. This ensures that the tire is not exposed to the Sun and will not experience dry rot.

by:

After a year tires are still in great condition wear is normal for road use. would buy again.

by:

Very satisfied with the Westlake trailer tires. One was destroyed and etrailer had the best price as well as fast delivery.

by:

Great service. Very fast shipping and great communication.

by:

Very quick shipping! As other reviews have stated, likely to get aged tires. Ordered two of this tire; one was 6 months old, the other two and a half years old. However, they appear to be decent tires and will run them with an update in the future.

Its not unheard of for tires to arrive at our location that were manufactured a year or more before we received them. These tires are manufactured overseas. After they are manufactured, they can sit in a warehouse for months until theyre packed in a shipping container and ultimately loaded on a container ship and shipped to the US. The trip here and entry through US Customs can take months, especially given the current supply-chain problems everyones experiencing. The tires then sit in a warehouse in the US until we order and receive them. Tires that are stored in a warehouse under controlled conditions dont age or dry rot like tires that are exposed to the elements and UV radiation do. The fact that one of your tires was older than a year when you received it will not have any effect on its lifespan or durability. It should be good for up to 6-7 years, assuming theyre not stored in direct sunlight, not overloaded, are kept properly inflated and their speed rating isnt being exceeded. The product warranty begins at the date of purchase, not the date of manufacture. I hope this eases your mind.

Holding up well, would definitely recomend and purchase again.

by:

They're exactly what I needed. Great order processing procedure. Fast delivery. Staff Gwendolyn Y.Was so very Helpful. Couldn't be happier.

by:

As ordered.

by:

Great service as usual from etrailer.com! I've used Westlake tires in the past and have never had any issues with them. I recommend them for your trailer.

by:

e-trailer was great. The trailer tires I had ordered were on back order, and they took the time to call me to see if another product could be shipped, in case I was in a hurry. Was under no time constraints, so I stayed with my original order, but just having an employee take the initiative, that is client service. They should be promoted...…. like seeing that John

by:

Product arrived right on time. They aslo price matched price I found on another web site with no hassle! 2nd time ordering from etrailer. Very easy to do business with. Time will tell on westlake trailer tire. I ordered to match the set that came in camper. Had a slow leak in the one I replaced.

by:

Not many long trips but I like the way the trailer feels with these tires on. The confidence of having a tire with a higher load rating is pretty huge!

by:

I have 4 on there with 3000+ miles that look new and ride great

by:

Needed to replace a set of K550s that came with the trailer. While the same size as the tires I removed due to having a square shape to them the tire has a wider stance. Excellent service from etrailer, Paula helped me get my order straight and it arrived in a week!

by:

Thanks for quick delievr.

by:

Appears to be a good tire. Just got them and need to mount them . etrailer.com is great to do business with, easy to order from and they ship merchandise super fast.

by:

Arrived nicely boxed and on time.
Ironic
that the tires shipped out of St Louis
and I needed them for a trip to St Louis!
So I took them back for a couple days.
They must have had a great time, I didn't hear any complaints!

by:

My tires were exactly what we wanted. I have ordered from etrailer several times I have always been pleased with the service I always get my items ordered very promptly I have never had any complaints.

by:

Received then in record time, I have mounted, balanced, and installed them. The tires looks good and in a year or so I will know the quality

by:

Order processed and received in a very timely manner. Would use E-trailer again!!

Great Service

by:

E-trailer has great customer service. Have ordered from them in the past and will continue in the future.

  • Recommended Tire Pressure for ST205/75R15 Load Range D Trailer Tire by Westlake
The Westlake tires ST205/75R15 trailer tires should be inflated to the max psi listed on the sidewall of your tire. The Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # LHWL300 we carry should be inflated to 65 psi cold. Ideally you would inflate your nitrogen filled tires with more nitrogen. The benefit of nitrogen is that it is less likely to migrate through tire rubber than oxygen so the tire pressures remain more stable. If you choose to add compressed air instead, there...

  • Trailer Tire Replacement Recommendation for Size ST205/75D15
Trailer tires really are only good for around 4-6 years past their manufacture date so you are making the right choice by replacing them now, but the size you mentioned is not a standard trailer tire size, plus it wouldn't fit on your rim as it would be MUCH wider so I can't recommend it. Best option is to stick with the same tire size. For that we have the part # LHWL300 which is a radial that will wear better and ride smoother than the bias ply style you have. When inflated, the Westlake 205/75R15 measures 8.1 inches wide and has a diameter of 27.1 inches, while the Karrier measures 8.9 inches wide and has a diameter of 28.4 inches. A blowout can be caused by any number of things, from the trailer being overloaded to the tire being underinflated (or underrated) to just a poor quality tire. In general, the higher the load range and capacity the higher the ply rating will be, so if you are using 4-ply tires and have 15 inch wheels, it sounds like you may not have a tire with the correct load capacity so in your case I strongly recommend going to a trailer tire with a higher ply rating, and a higher quality tire.
