Recommended Tire Pressure for ST205/75R15 Load Range D Trailer Tire by Westlake
Question:
ST205/75R15 LRD trailer tire by Westlake for RV If the sidewall gives me a maximum load at a certain pressure, should I always keep the tire inflated to that pressure? I refer to the cold pressure. This particular tire is nitrogen inflated but has drifted down to 55psig and the sidewall recommends 65psig. Is it alright to add compressed air to bring it back to 65psig? Thank you, I look forward to your reply.

The Westlake tires ST205/75R15 trailer tires should be inflated to the max psi listed on the sidewall of your tire. The Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # LHWL300 we carry should be inflated to 65 psi cold.
Ideally you would inflate your nitrogen filled tires with more nitrogen. The benefit of nitrogen is that it is less likely to migrate through tire rubber than oxygen so the tire pressures remain more stable. If you choose to add compressed air instead, there is not an issue with the air mix with nitrogen. It will still be a better option than completely air filled tires to maintain stable pressure with road friction and ambient temperatures.
