Trailer Tire Replacement Recommendation for Size ST205/75D15

Question:

I have a 5x8 cargo trailer with ST 205175D15 tires. Bought trailer in 2011 and and have 50 miles on them. I parked trailer and have used it for storage. I am afraid of rot on the tires although I cannot see any fine cracks in sidewalks. It seems no one around here have trailer tires with my tires number, but have 295 75C15. Can these be used for my trailer. Need answer asap as I will be using it in two days and need time to get tires done. Than you,

Trailer tires really are only good for around 4-6 years past their manufacture date so you are making the right choice by replacing them now, but the size you mentioned is not a standard trailer tire size, plus it wouldn't fit on your rim as it would be MUCH wider so I can't recommend it.

Best option is to stick with the same tire size. For that we have the part # LHWL300 which is a radial that will wear better and ride smoother than the bias ply style you have. The R in it's tire size of ST205/75R15 means radial.

The D in your tire size of ST205/75D15 means bias ply.

The tire I recommended has a higher speed rating of 75 mph plus a 2 year roadside assistance program that comes with it.
