  • Recommended Parts To Add Hydraulic Trailer Brakes To 2014 Shorelander Trailer For 20 Pontoon
Thank you for the pictures! We do offer a trailer brake option that will work with the 10" wheels on your 2014 Shorelander Trailer. Since the trailer will be in water you will want to use the Dexter Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit # 23-398-399 which includes both left and right assemblies and is for hydraulic brakes and will bolt the 4 bolt brake flange found on your axles that I was able to see in your picture. Since you have 5 lug wheels you will likely need Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly...

  • Is Larger Diameter Brake Line Required when Switching from Drum to Disc Trailer Brakes
You would only need to switch to a larger diameter brake line if the braking response was slow. You can go to a larger line if you wanted but it won't be necessary. We have 1/4 line kits such as # HS496-251 for single axle trailers, # HS496-252 for tandem axle trailers, or # HS496-253 for triple axle trailers.

  • Parts Needed To Add Hydraulic Disc Brakes To Trailer
To add hydraulic disc brakes to your trailer you will need a few parts. For a hub and rotor assembly I recommend the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 10" Hub/Rotor - 5 on 4-1/2 - Dacromet - 3,500 lbs # K2HR35D which will allow you to use your 14" wheels and bolts to your 4 bolt brake flange. You will need to confirm that your spindles use inner bearing # L68149 and outer bearing # L44649, but since all of our 14" wheel options use those bearings this should be the kit you need. You will need inner...

  • Should I Use A Steel Brake Line Kit Or A Rubber Brake Line Kit?
Though you can definitely go with the all flexible line kits, like the Kodiak Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # 15SI-BLKIT, I do prefer the more traditional steel kits, like the HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-251. I have found the steel line to be a bit easier to mount, especially if there is excess as it can just be coiled up and out of the way, but mostly as they are more durable than their rubber counterparts. Granted, the steel line kits for disc brakes will also use the shorter...

  • How to Convert Dexter 10k Drum Brakes to Electric Over Hydraulic Disc
We have just what you would need. For idler hubs you would first need to start with the part # 8-214-5UC1 (if you don't have these already) and then to install a disc brake kit specifically for these hubs you would need the part # K2R1058D11 for each axle. This is a Dexter 10k oil bath setup just like what you have. For an electric over hydraulic drum actuator for your trailer you would want the part # HBA16-252-82. That comes with everything electronically. For a 30 foot long tandem...

  • Parts Needed For Installing Trailer Brakes On a Yacht Club Single 3,500LB Axle Pontoon Boat Trailer
The best option would be to go with Disc Brakes # DE66YR. These are the best option as they repel water better than other trailer brakes and will offer superior braking. This will require the Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator # T47457107K and Brake Line Kit # HS496-251. The brake actuator uses a electric lockout so you will need a 5-way for your tow vehicle. If you have a 7-way then you will need an Adapter # A75TB or a Kit # C57187 can be used to change a 4-way to a 5-way. You could also go...

  • Correct Complete Disc Brake Kit For 2003 Magic Tilt Boat Trailer with Tandem 3500lb Axles
I would be happy to help! Starting with the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc # DX29FR this will fit the 3" x 3" tongue of your 2003 Magic Tilt Trailer perfectly, and is a fantastic option due to it already including an electric lockout solenoid for the backing up the trailer. The Kodiak Disc Brake Assembly # K1HR35D you were looking at will fit your 3500lb axles perfectly, but I do recommend adding these kits to both axles of your trailer. Adding them...

  • 30 Foot Trailer Tandem Axle Brake Line Kit Recommendation
For a 30 foot brake line kit you would need the part # HS496-251 for the first axle and then to tee into this kit for the second axle you would need part # T0778500 and then use the single axle kit part # DM5402 for the second axle lines. Everything of this kit would be used minus the main feed line, but you would need the part # # BH-3MFS-1 to go from the first axle to the second.

  • Parts Needed For Installing Stainless Steel Disc Brakes On a 6,000LB Single Axle Trailer
Starting with the axles, we do not carry any galvanized axles in the dimension you are needing. You may consider taking the axles you already have and having them galvanized at a local facility as long as they are not otherwise damaged. While we do not carry sealed hubs like the Vortex we do have a Stainless Hub # KH42655S. You will need a Inner Bearing # 25580, Outer Bearing # 15123 and Grease Seal # GS-2250DL(2.25" ID) or # GS-2125DL(2.125" ID) for each hub. The Bearing Buddy # BB2441SS...

We do have a disc brake kit that is compatible with the Dexter Axle Oil Hub for 9,000-lb - 10,000-lb General Duty Axles # 008-430-03 and for Dexter general-duty axles manufactured after May 2013. This disc brake kit is for spring axles only (which just means it will not fit torsion axles), and is the following: - Kodiak Disc Brake Kit - 11" Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - E-Coat Finish - Leaf Spring - 10,000 lb Dexter # K2R1058D11E These are over-the-hub rotors with cast iron calipers for exceptional...

  • Replacement Surge Brakes for a 23.5 Hunter Sailboat Trailer
If you were looking to simply replace the hydraulic brakes then I recommend the Hydraulic Brake Kit part # AKFBBRK-35-D with the Trailer Hub/Drum Assembly part # AKHD-545-35-G-EZ-K (2). If you were looking to upgrade to disc brakes then I recommend the Titan Disc Brake Assembly part # T10HREKITBB (2). In regards to the brake lines, the HydraStar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit part # HS496-251 would have you covered. Please note, if you upgrade to disc then you'll also need a new actuator like...
