Video Transcript for Kodiak Trailer Brakes K2250CP Review

Today we're going to take a look at the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads. These are going to work with 8,000 pound to 14,000 pound rated calipers. Now these are going to be a great replacement for the brake pads in your trailer if you need new ones, or you just want to upgrade to something a little bit higher performance. These are going to provide superior performance in a couple of ways, since they're going to give you more consistent braking, and they're going to be able to withstand higher temperatures without becoming malleable or worn. A lot of times, with organic or semi-metallic pads, they can kind of wear out and squish out over time, but these are going to withstand a lot more use. These are also going to be great for saltwater applications, since these have been tested with a 196-hour salt spray test, and they we're able to withstand that amount of punishment. So they're going to be really able to resist corrosion with that carbon-ceramic material.

The backing plate is also going to be double coated in polyurethane, so that's also going to resist any rusting or corrosion there, so you will have a really long-lasting brake pad. This is also going to produce less dust than NAO or semi-metallic models. So you won't have to worry about it creating a bunch of dust and gumming up the other components in your braking and suspension system. These are going to last up to twice as long as traditional organic pads as well. Now you'll get two sets to replace the brake pads on your two disc brake assemblies, so you'll have one for either side. Going to just pair up and fit inside your caliper, somewhat like that. So you'll have both of those braking assemblies to replace either side of your trailer. Now these are going to, again, work for calipers that are rated from 8,000 pounds up to 14,000 pounds.

These are also made in the USA, and Kodiak stands behind their product by offering a limited lifetime warranty for these brake pads.As far as the dimensions, the shorter side is going to be about 7" long from end to end. The larger portion is going to be about 8-3/4". As far as the width, they're going to be just about 2" wide. And that'll be the same between all of our pads. That's going to do it for our look at the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads for calipers rated from 8,000 pounds up to 14,000 pounds.

Only supplier in the nation that stocks this Pad set. I appreciate your accurate cataloging and hope to use it in the future. Local suppliers were worthless and I felt I was going to the dentist every time I sat down to attempt to find parts for this Kodiak 13” disc brake set up. George was also very helpful.

Average price. Shipping times long, forced to use 2 dqy option, which is pricey. Order shipped in manufacturer boxes, and separately (I ordered 2 of the same thing), instead of combining manufacturer boxes into an etrailer box for shipping. Manufacturer boxes are cheesy, and not well taped together, and of course, arrive with big gaping holes in both boxes. Luckily the pads were still in there, but somewhere along the way some fell out, pads took a beating. No time to re order, I hope the pads don't crumble.

We ordered late in the afternoon and paid for overnight shipping- We were worried it would not ship until the next day- It actually came the next day by 11:30 am- We were very impressed that it arrived the next day- It was the correct parts, and we were able to get our trailer fixed and back on the road.

  • Can Redline Disc Brake Pad & Lining Be Used In Kodiak Calipers
I reached out to my contact at Redline and he mentioned that the Disc Brake Pad & Lining # BP04-400 that you were looking at will not work on your Kodiak Brakes. The reason for this is that even though the pads do look very similar, there are subtle difference regarding how the pad is retained inside of the caliper, making the Kodiak calipers only accept Kodiak pads. You will need to use the Kodiak Ceramic Brake Pads # K2250CP that you were looking at as long as you have 8000lb-14000lb...

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Ceramic Kodiak Brake Pads
The "KTC 7600" stamped on the brake pad doesn't look to be a part number, so I can't cross reference it, but we do know you have Kodiak ceramic brake pads.
