Correct Complete Disc Brake Kit For 2003 Magic Tilt Boat Trailer with Tandem 3500lb Axles
Question:
I have a 2003 Magic Tilt - Hun/26TDM/14C boat trailer with a GVR of 6840 pounds, it has a 3inch x 3inch tongue, 14inch x 5.5inch wheels and axle brake flanges installed, and 5 on 4 1/2inch bolt pattern. It had brakes but a previous owner removed everything but the actuator, which I will also replace. Below is my parts plan, please look this over and see if this is a good, complete parts list for my brake upgrade, and make any recommendations you feel are necessary. Actuator - DX29FR. Disk Brake Kits - 2-K1HR35D For rear axle Idler Hubs - 2-84545BX For front axle Brake line plumbing kit?? I want to run rigid brake line from actuator to rear axle, then flexible line to calipers. I was unable to find a similar kit on website. Bearing Buddies?? that fit all 4 hubs. Thank You So Much for the Help,

I would be happy to help!
Starting with the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout - Bolt On - Disc # DX29FR this will fit the 3" x 3" tongue of your 2003 Magic Tilt Trailer perfectly, and is a fantastic option due to it already including an electric lockout solenoid for the backing up the trailer.
The Kodiak Disc Brake Assembly # K1HR35D you were looking at will fit your 3500lb axles perfectly, but I do recommend adding these kits to both axles of your trailer. Adding them to only one axle means that you are only getting 3500lbs of braking power though your trailer has a 6840lb GVWR meaning your tow vehicle will need to stop the additional 3340lbs of weight which is less than ideal.
With that said the Idler Hub Assembly # 84545BX would still fit your axle just fine.
For a brake line kit I recommend the # HS496-251 if you decide on only going with a brakes on a single axle, or # HS496-252 if you with brakes on both axles which I recommend. Both kits have solid metal line running from the actuator to the back of the trailer, and then rubber lines to go from there to each brake.
For Bearing Buddies compatible with the rotors and idler hubs mentioned above you will need the # BB1980A.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
