The product is just fine, as long as not using for an application that requires a waterproof connection. This is not a heat shrinkable connector.

The products are working just fine.

  • How to Install an Amber Turn and Parking Light on a Trailer with Combined Brake and Turn Signals
Many people inquire about wiring a trailer in the way you describe, and it is possible, but you will need to use a vehicle to vehicle taillight converter, part # 118158, to accomplish this. The converter will be wired inline on the trailer wiring and will break out the turn and brake circuits. I attached a drawing that shows how I would go about wiring this converter on a simple 4 wire trailer. You would just need to cap off the red wire on the output side of the converter and tie that...

  • Components Needed to Extend Length of Wiring That Powers Ventline Powered Vent Fan
To extend the length of the wiring that powers your Ventline vent fan you can use 2 of part # DW01899-1, which is a Female Spade Terminal Quick-Disconnect, 2 butt connectors # DW05714 and a suitable length of 2-conductor wire such as # 12-2-1 (which is sold by the foot). The wiring portion of part # BVD0218-00 is not sold by itself.

  • Installing Brake Controller in 1998 GMC Jimmy with Cut Off 4-Way
The kit you'll want instead of the # 37185 is the part # ETBC7L as it comes with the same 4-way to 7-way adapter but it also comes with the wiring needed to install a brake controller like the Curt # C51180. Since your 4-way was cut off you'd need to also cut the wire off of the 7-way adapter and hardwire the connections there. Since 4-ways use standard colors you'd just need to wire them color for color. For butt connectors to make these connections you'll want the # DW05714 for each...

  • Getting Trailer Wiring Harness 118416 to Work with a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Right-Hand Drive Model
For some reason the right-hand drive version of the 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited doesn't have the same tail light wiring as left-hand drive models. What you will have to do is plug in wiring harness # 118416 to one side or the other. On the side it is not plugged into use a circuit tester such as # PTW2993 to locate the wire that carries the turn signal and brake light function. Splice a wire into that wire on the vehicle using a quick splice connector such as # SWC501746-1 and wire # 16-1-1...

  • When is it Recommended To Use Dielectric Grease When Wiring
We want to thank you for your recent purchase! You wouldn't need to use dielectric grease with a butt connector such as part # DW05714 (view video at the 1:16 mark) as electrical tape will work great. Heat shrinkable tubing such as part # DW05451 will help protect against the elements. It works with 14-18 gauge wire. Most trailer light wiring is 16-gauge. Once you have your wire inside the tubing you can use a heat gun, blow dryer and/or lighter utilize the heat shrinkable tubing. We...

  • Brake Controller Recommendation for 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I see that you'd looked at both the Redac # RED24FR Tow-Pro Liberty as well as the Tekonsha # TK90160 Primus. Either controller would work well, to answer the question of which would be the best controller for you will depend on how familiar you are with brake controllers, your budget and whether you'd be satisfied with a traditionally mounted brake controller that would bolt to the underside of the dash like the Primus or whether you'd prefer a remotely mounted controller like the Tow-Pro...

  • Parts Needed to Install GloLight LED Trailer Tail Light # STL178RFPB to Trailer Wiring
Best option would be to connect the # A47PB to the wiring you have on your trailer currently so that you can easily plug in the GloLight LED Trailer Tail Light # STL178RFPB. For butt connectors you'd then want the part # DW05714. This is a really solid choice for a light and would work well for your 2018 Grand Design Solitude.

  • Can You Tap Into A Nearby Light To Power A MaxxAir MaxxFan Deluxe RV Roof Vent
The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-07500K only pulls 5 amps so you would be fine with 16 to 14 gauge wire. I've tapped into a light fixture numerous times for power but you could run into an issue if you had too many lights on that one fused line. Most likely the lights are all ran to the same fuse so if they're incandescent you could end up pulling too many amps adding in the vent and blow the fuse. If you have LED's then you'd most likely be fine since they typically pull...

  • Connecting New 4-Way with 4 Wires to Trailer that Has 5 Wires
The two tan wires of your trailer wiring will get ran to the single brown wire of your new plug. This circuit is the running lights circuit and since it goes to both sides of the trailer there's two wires for it. You'd run the two wires into one side of a butt connector like part # DW05714 and the single wire from the new connector gets ran to the other side.

In order to access these screw holes you will need to remove the lens. I have attached a photo that shows the screw holes. I have also attached an install video for you as well. This means you will need to splice into the brake controller wiring under the driver's side dash in order to install the brake controller. The SMI CoachLink 900 Wireless Transmitter and Receiver Braking Indicator Set # SM99945 that you mentioned comes with a couple butt end connectors and a couple quick splices for tapping into a circuit. I personally don't care for quick splices as the few times I've tried to use them I either ended up cutting the circuit I was trying to tap into or didn't press the blade hard enough to get the circuits to contact. The best connection would be to solder it. For that we have the part # FL0803490...

All you'll need is some wire crimpers/strippers like part # PT43ZR and butt connectors like part # DW05714. Just match wires from the old unit to the new unit by function and you're good to go.

  • Installation of Reese Brakeman Trailer Brake Controller in 2014 Dodge Ram
The trailer brake controller custom wiring adapter that you referenced, Tekonsha part # 3023-P works with all Tekonsha controllers unless they are the hard-wire type like your Brakeman. Based on my research the Brakeman has four hard-wired leads exiting its back rather than a plug to accept the adapter. You can still use the adapter to make the truck-side connection to the under-dash port, and simply cut off the flat connector (that is intended for the rear port on a current Tekonsha controller)...

If you like, you can use anchors for added support but these won't really be needed, just make sure to attach the base to a secure surface.
