A trailer jack is designed to lift the tongue of your trailer so you can connect the trailer coupler to your hitch ball. To do this, you'll need a jack with a lift capacity high enough to handle your trailer's tongue weight.
Tongue weight is the amount of weight that your trailer applies to the back of your tow vehicle. Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 10,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. For a trailer this size, you would need a jack with a lift capacity of at least 1,500 lbs.
It's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher lift capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time camping.
Every jack offers a certain amount of lift or travel. Screw travel is the distance the jack extends when you crank it (or toggle it to "extend" on an electric model). Some jacks include a drop leg for extra adjustability. On these jacks, you'll see the maximum extension of the drop leg listed in the specs as well. Adding the screw travel and drop leg travel together will give you the total lift. The total lift listed above can help you determine how high this jack will be able to raise your trailer.

this is great but the wheel that i purchased with it doesnt work with it. The wheel sleeve is too small to fit this jack.
Had it on the trailer about a year now, I keep going around and around with it, results are kind of up and down.
It works just fine, bolted right up as it should, does its job. No complaints. Works better than the one it replaced.
The service was great. It shipped quickly and I received what I ordered. The product seems heavy duty as I was expecting. The action of the jack feels appropriate and only time will tell if I truely got what I paid for. I haven't had a chance to try raising the trailer while it was loaded to really know if it is truely the heavy duty jack that I needed. This jack is much stronger and smoother to use than the original jack that came on my cargo trailer. Would not shop anywhere else for trailer supplies.
This jack bolted right into the existing mount and works far smoother than the jack that came with the trailer. This seems to work well and is made in the USA. I will repost if we run into any issues but I'm happy with the purchase!
The jack works great on my 16 foot trailer. I ordered this particular one because it is manufactured in the US. It's very smooth to crank and seems to be excellent quality.
I couldn’t believe how easy this was to change out! Took maybe 15 minutes tops? I used my same bolts from the jack I was replacing and the same foot pad.

Still working flawless. Smooth as silk. The one it replaced was getign stiff, noisy and I was worried it was going to strand me somewhere and fail all together. New unit is perfect.
Shipping was fast. The jack operates smoothly, but time will tell about it's durability. Like that it was made in the U.S.A.. cannot give it five stars because I have not used it much yet.
