I needed to replace my Vertical Jack handle crank on my small trailer with a horizontal handle and it needed to clear my batteries, this works perfect, no longer busting my knuckles on the trailer hitch latch!

After a year of use this jack has proven itself,Im able to maneuver my trailer easily to get it just right in my garage. Also the handle height clears my two 6 volt batteries, I no longer break a knuckle while cranking the handle as I did on my old vertical handle. Im very pleased with the quality and performance of this jack.

by:

Tammie an E Trailer crew are great, perfect fit matches the old one, now if I can remember to slow down an crank it up before driving off, lol, I have pictures of the jack an the perfect match hitch on the Saturn I forgot to put on here

by:

Great upgrade to a 1966 Little Dipper travel trailer.

by:

The old jack that came with the trailer was bent and hung to low. I put up with it for way to long but when I was reparking it in my pasture and left a divot I Finally Serious. Five minutes on Etrailer and I found exactly the replacement that should’ve come originally. Thank you Etrailer.

by:

Had a shipping mishap. They shipped the wrong jack but the customer service was exceptional. They were super friendly and shipped out the correct one very quickly.

by:

The jack was delivered fast. (Four buisness days). It fit the trailer perfectly. All the bolt holes lined up good.

by:

This was not the correct jack for my trailer configuration. There were a lot of choices in 3-hole mounts, and I concentrated on collapsed length, as that is critical for my application. The biggest error was not knowing that the height was taller, and thus my truck's tailgate will hit it when lowered. NOT acceptable.

There are dimensions for the jacks, but they are on the second page. Pay attention to the dimensions, if you are attempting to match-up to an existing application. Sure, I can return it and order the correct jack, but it's almost cheaper to toss the wrong one in the scrap pile. 3 X $XX shipping each way adds up.

PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE ORDERING!

Great replacement for my vintage camper that had a jack hole of only 1 7/8 inches. I used a hole saw to enlarge the holes on both the top and bottom plates of the A-frame to 2 3/8 inches and this jack slipped right in. For jack hardware, use 3/8" 16 tpi self drilling screws or use a long bolt through both the top and bottom plates of the A-frame if you have both top and bottom plates. Make the screw holes 5/16" (1/16" smaller than the self-drilling screws). I mention all this because it took me a long time to figure this all out and I hope it helps someone. My camper needs to get both really low and really high, so I added a foot extension to get it higher and am happy with the combination.

by:

Needed a replacement trailer jack for our Boy Scout trailer, as the internal cylinder was bent on the old one, making the cranking very difficult. Took about 10 minutes to swap out the old jack and put in this new one. Works like a charm. Very easy to do. Also added the footplate. Highly recommend this jack and footplate.

by:

Replacement of a factory jack that had failed. Fit perfect and same dimensions. This jack is smoother and has longer travel than my original jack. Very satisfied.

update: It has been a year and the jack still works great!

by:

The jack was not only much less than I expected it to be but it is also much 'beefier' than I expected. My last trailer jack got damaged when I left a gas station which had a dip as the road I went onto had a rise so once I get this one mounted I will submit a pic so everyone can see how much better this jack is if you are looking for a low profile jack like I was.

by:

This is the lowest profile (compressed height) jack I could find, so hopefully it won't ground out like the last one.

by:

Did the job. Shortest jack I could find and it worked great!

by:

Very happy with everything

by:

The jack that was installed originally on my trailer extended too far below the frame, so that it hit the ground on uneven terrain, especially when leaving the roadway and entering parking lots. This product has much more clearance. It completely fixed the problem.

This jack is still working fine, Ive had no problems with it.

by:

The "A" frame plate on my '99 Jayco pop up was bent and needed replacing. I took it to a welding shop and had a new plate welded in for the now standard 2 1/4 " hole. I ordered this replacement jack (TJA-2001-B) because it was the closest matching jack (re-tractability) and the best price that would do the job. I also got a drop leg (JF-1005H-Z) so I would no longer need the large wooden block when parking my camper. Thank you etrailer for being there to answer questions.

Been working great. Always get good advise and products from these guys. Thank You

by:

bolted right up to the existing flange on the trailer. turns easy with weight on the trailer. once setting on the ball, the jack fully retracts effortlessly by spinning the handle with one finger.

by:

I bought this jack to replace the jack that came with my brand new trailer. I was unable to put a wheel on the original jack but because of this lowered mounting plate I was able to put the wheel on it and crank it up and have plenty of clearance. The price was right and it’s well-built. I have ordered several products from etrailer and have never been disappointed. It was shipped quickly and all their products are quality built

by:

This jack was an excellent fit for our application providing excellent ground clearance in the full ellivated position. It semis to be well made and has served us well the two times we have used it thus far. It' s construction exceeds that of the jack provided by e trailer's manufacturer.

Thank you for your fast response and the excellent product information and installation instructions.

by:

Appears to be good quality and fit perfectly. It seems to work well, big improvement over the one.

by:

This was perfect for my need. I have a welder-generator on a small trailer. It was a real effort and strain to attach it to my mower tractor to move it around the property. I modified the trailer to accommodate the jack and bolted it in place.
Perfect! Katie from Etrailer did an excellent job in assisting me to select the right product for my application. Thank you Katie. Von.

by:

I am glad I came upon this site. The staff is friendly courteous and helpful.

Since I live in Canada it is a big problem if I had to send items back across the border to etrailer if the items were not what I thought they were. The short videos that etrailer provides with each product is extremely helpful in determining to purchase or not. Thank you for that feature. Knowing a little about video production and the costs associated with that, it must cost etrailer a pile to give us (the consumers) what appears to be a simple addition on their site

Thanks again guys/gals

by:

Excellent Jack, my trailer is hooked and unhooked several times a week, after a year of use the jack still works like it is new.

by:

in combination with Item: JF-1005H-Z it worked great - better than the original!
the high profile, keeping it tucked up tight to the A-Frame hitch, keeps it from dragging on the ground and getting bent like the original. smooth operation.

by:

this is a great trailer jack handle... it is still going strong... thank you.. :)

  • A-Frame Trailer Jack Operation and Tongue Weight
From what you told me it sounds like the foot on your trailer jack, like part # TJA-2001-B, doesn't leave the ground until you have the tongue weight of the trailer supported. Since the purpose of an A-Frame trailer jack is to support the tongue weight of the trailer if you don't have anything else supporting the tongue weight of your trailer it will naturally go down as the foot retracts into the jack. When your trailer is parked and uncoupled it is always best to leave the foot of your...
