So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

by:

A must have .just wish I had got my trans cooler from etrailer they are a great company .so if you gonna put a trans cooler own you GM truck take my word for it you best go to trailer! Won't be sorry, thanks

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked just as needed

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Pro help online to order. Trans cooler shipped right away.

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

The adapter fitting did not fit my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 5.3 liter engine and factory trailer package.

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

  • How Does Derale Radiator Fitting for Transmission Coolers Install on a 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 Liter
The Derale transmission cooler fitting # D13018 is listed as a fit for your 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 liter. The fittings thread onto steel transmission lines and in the radiator so you will not have to flare the lines. I included a picture that illustrates this.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler For A 1998 Chevrolet K1500
I do have transmission cooler options available for your 1998 Chevrolet K1500 with 5.7L engine. As transmission coolers are universal, they will work in your vehicle with the provided space and adapter fittings. As a general rule of thumb, you will want to choose the largest transmission cooler for the space you have available between the radiator and grill of your vehicle. To replace or enhance your stock transmission cooler system, I recommend using the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 With 6.0L V8
I took a look at the owner's manual for your 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500 and was unable to find any information concerning specific grades of hills and there isn't any type of specific formula that is used which has this information. The only thing mentioned in your owner's manual was that going up steep grades would cause overheating so I strongly recommend using an accessory transmission cooler. The best option is the Derale Series 8000 # D13504 because it is a plate-fin cooler that is...

  • Best Solution for Lowering Vehicle Temperatures When Towing
The added stress from trailer towing usually shows up as an increased transmission temperature. I am not sure if the gauge you're referring to is displaying engine coolant temperature or if you have one that shows transmission temperature. We do offer Derale Class III transmission cooler # D12903 for your 5.3L Yukon XL which measures a generous 15-1/4 x 7-1/2. If you have a hard metal line and do not want to use the fitting, you could cut the metal line, flare it, and use hose clamps. The transmission cooler comes with hose, clamps, and mounting hardware. It also includes an Insta-dapt radiator adapter. This adapter is if you have a rubber line, not a metal line, so you can use the...

  • Should 2007 GMC Sierra Classic be Put in 4WD When Towing a Heavy Load Long Distance
I checked out the online version of the owner's manual and it looks like for your 2007 GMC Sierra Classic then you want to use the Tow/Haul mode for heavy towing and/or shift the transmission to 3rd or lower if it is shifting too often. Aside from that though it doesn't state anything about 4WD so I wouldn't worry about it. You may consider adding a transmission cooler like the Derale # D13502 to help keep your transmission from overheating and making your engine work harder. If you have...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500
For your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 I would recommend the larger transmission cooler part # D13504 as basically the larger the cooler you have the better, and your truck would have room for it's size of 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep. For a fitting that would allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any lines you would want the part # D13018. Keeping the transmission fluid cool is the greatest way to prolong the life of the transmission as heat is a transmission's worst enemy.

  • How Many Adapters Is Needed to Install Transmission Cooler in 1997 Chevy K1500
The Derale cooler part # D13503 is a great choice for your 1997 Chevy K1500. You would only need one of the part # D13018 fitting adapter as it comes with two sides. One to use on the radiator to get the line to the transmission cooler and then the other one to attach back to the disconnected transmission cooler line that was removed. The optimum mounting location for a Derale Transmission Coolers, part # D13504, on your 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 5.3 liter engine would be in front of your radiator and AC condenser as you would get the most airflow to the cooler there.
