  • Winch Wiring Kit Recommendation for Badlands Winch at Rear of 2006 Mercury Mountaineer
The wiring kit you are going to need to go with is one that has a thick enough gauge to provide the amperage requirements of your winch and also has a long enough length to make it from your battery to the rear of the vehicle. Since I looked up the overall length of your 2006 Mercury Mountaineer and found that it's right at 16 foot I would recommend the Bulldog winch wiring kit part # BDW20043 which is 3 gauge and 16 foot in overall length.

You'll use the ring terminal end on the wiring to connect to the battery and then put one set of quick connects onto the other end. You'll then use the remaining quick connects on the winch. You can then use the Buyers Products Winch Mount...

  • Can Superwinch LT3000ATV Winch be used at Rear of Truck
I spoke with my contact at Superwinch and he told me that the kit you need to wire up your Superwinch LT3000ATV part # SW1130220 at the rear of your truck is the part # BDW20043. This comes with everything you would need for power and ground. The switching you have would remain the same. I attached a diagram that shows how this winch wires up as well.

  • Does Superwinch LT2000 Electric Utility Winch Come with a Remote
The Superwinch LT2000 Electric Utility Winch, # 1120210, does come with a bar mounted remote. You can see it in the pictures on the product page. Click on them to make them larger. I have included a link to the installation details for this winch for reference. Superwinch does have a wireless remote but it is not compatible with the LT2000. The recommended accessories for this winch are the Pulley Block, # BDW20004, and Winch Trailer Wiring Kit, # BDW20043. I have included a link to the...

Quick connectors like the # BDW20348 do come in different sizes depending on the gauge of wiring required for the application. There are a couple of different options for 2-4 gauge wiring that you can use that I've listed below for you to check out. The connectors in the # BDW20348 are much larger than these other options. • Winch Mount for Terra 45 for Easier Install/Removal from Vehicle Hitch
For your application a winch mount like the Bulldog part # BDW20011 would be what I would recommend. This is compatible with the Terra 45 winch and since it has large handles on either side will make for an easier to installing and removing from your hitch as needed.

  • Winch Recommendation for Pulling Racecar Up Into Trailer
The LT3000 winch, # SW1130220, is a good choice for pulling a 2,350 pound vehicle onto your trailer. With a rolling load (your vehicle) on a 17 degree slope (typical range for a trailer ramp) the winch will have a 7,825 pound rolling load capacity. For trailer mounting these winches are mounted directly to the trailer frame with bolts that go through the mounting plate provided on the winch. If you would like the winch to be removable you could mount it to the SuperWinch Hitch Mounted...

  • Will I Need a Separate Battery to Power My Winch?
If you are a frequent user of a medium to heavy duty winch then yes it is a good idea to carry a separate battery with you. Many times we see the auxiliary battery mounted within the engine compartment if there is space available when you have the winch on the front of your vehicle. If you are planning on using your winch when mounted to your trailer then we often see it mounted to the frame of the trailer, but you could also mount a battery box and battery to the bed of your truck. ...

  • Need a Winch for Loading and Unloading a Car Into an Enclosed Car Hauler Trailer
The Bulldog Winch Powersports Series UTV Winch - Synthetic Rope - Hawse Fairlead - 4,000 lbs # BDW15012, that you selected is a great choice for the application that you need a winch for. This winch is designed primarily for race car trailers, open and enclosed and will control the cable feed in and out so you could stop the vehicle at any point when loading and would not have to worry about a runaway vehicle when unloading. For installing the winch in the trailer it is hard to make a...

  • How to Charge A Trailer Battery When Connected to Tow Vehicle
What you are going to need to do is install a 7-way on your trailer so that you can run a 12 volt accessory circuit from the connector to a battery like you are interested in doing. You should note that this will only maintain a fully charged battery. For this route you will need a trailer side 7-way # H20042 and a length of 10 gauge wire to run to the battery. For that you would need part # 10-1-1 sold by the foot. If you are looking for something to actually charge the battery on your...

For your car hauler I recommend the Bulldog Winch Utility Winch, # BDW10004. The Bulldog winch has a 6,000 lbs static load limit. The winch will include wiring, solenoids, housing to wire from the trailer up to the your vehicle. I also recommend the Bulldog Winch Universal Wiring Kit, # BDW20043. • Winch and Install Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500
You can wire the winch up to either the truck battery or the trailer battery. If the plan is to use the winch on the vehicle then I would wire it there. If the winch is for the trailer then powering off the trailer battery would also work. But you will need to charge the battery more frequently. As long as you know which wire is positive and negative you should be just fine. I wouldn't get too hung up on the colors of the wires as they aren't always consistent. For a winch you could use...

  • How To Power 1000 Watt Inverter in Truck Bed for Mini Fridge
The Power Inverter 1000 Watts with Three AC Receptacles part # WC3720 comes with 6 gauge wire leads which are designed to be attached directly to a battery. If you wish to extend these leads you can do so but you'd need to use a larger gauge, the Bulldog Winch Wiring Kit part # BDW20043 would be the perfect option for this as the length would get you to the truck bed from the engine bay no problem and it comes with disconnects for when the inverter needs to be removed. • Using a 7-blade RV Connection To Power a Trailer Mounted Winch
I would not try wiring a winch through a standard 7-way connector. Winches draw much more amperage than the wiring that can be installed in a 7-way trailer connector can handle. The best solution would be to use a winch wiring kit like the Winch Trailer Wiring Kit, item # BDW20043. This kit includes everything needed to install a connector at the rear of the vehicle and at the front of the trailer, for powering a winch. If you already have heavy enough gauge wire you can order the Electrical...

  • Can an Electric Winch be Plugged into a 7-Way Connector on an RV
First you have to look at the amperage the winch draws and compare it to what the 12 volt circuit on the 7-Way connector is rated for. Winches can draw a lot of power and could easily over draw the 12 volt circuit on the 7-Way. Most 7-Way connectors are on a 30 to 40 amp circuit breaker or fuse. Even a small 1,500 pound winch can draw 70 amps or more. What I recommend is to use separate wiring and connectors for the winch to avoid over drawing the 7-Way. If the winch wiring is 6 to 10...

  • Recommended Electric Winch, Winch Receiver Mount, and Quick Connect Wiring for Complete System
For an electric winch like the Bulldog Winch Standard Series Off-Road Winch # BDW10043, you can use a receiver mount like the Bulldog Winch Receiver Mount Kit - 2" x 2" # BDW20155. This makes location easy and you can absolutely add the quick connect wiring like you mentioned. For a 7-1/2 foot long option, use # BDW20205. For a 16 foot long option, use # BDW20043. For a 24 foot long option, use # BDW20026. You may also want the mounting bracket # 18140 to secure the connection to like...

  • How to Wire Up a Powered Winch Mounted at Rear of Truck
I attached a help article that details exactly what is required for wiring up a winch, but for your setup you would want to go with a wiring kit like part # BDW20043. This will run wires up directly to the battery. LED lights draw a very small amount, so you could power them pretty easily off of the 12 volt accessory circuit of the 7-way which is in the 1:00 pin position.

Single-Pole, Round Pin Trailer Wiring Connector, # PK11852, which you reference, uses #OO gauge wire, which we do not carry at this time. • Quick Connects and Wiring Recommendation for Use with a 4,500 lb Winch
The Bulldog Quick Connects # BDW20047 that you referenced are designed to be used on wire that is from 6-10 gauge. Since you have 6 gauge wire you would be just fine. This does not come with any wire, and to determine if your winch requires circuit breakers installed on the power line you will need to check the owners manual of the winch or the manufacturer. For a kit that includes the wiring you would want the part # BDW20043. This kit would then use quick connects like # BDW20018. These...

The Wiring Kit, # BDW20043, has 16 feet of 3 gauge double wire to run from the rear of the vehicle to the front. Winches draw quite a bit of amperage so for a kit that will be rated for that type of amerage draw we have the heavy gauge kit part # BDW20043 for up to a 4k winch, or if you have a higher rated winch we have the # BDW20207 for up to 16.5k. These kits run all the way up to the battery to power the winch.

The Bulldog Winch 1.8 hp Trailer Winch w Mounting Plate, part # BDW15020 is indeed weatherproof. These winches are designed to be able to mount to a trailer and handle the weather. I also recommend using the Bulldog Winch Universal Wiring Kit, part # BDW20043. This kit includes the vehicle and winch side connectors and 16-ft of wiring that lets you cut it to the desired length. This keeps you from having to install the winch wiring to the battery every time you want to use it.
